Notes
This is the closest I have come and it is really damn close. I cannot tell the difference right now. I know that Adirondack said they use 4 different vendors but this here is very close without scrapping all the work and using Inewera or something else. Let me know what you think!

Placid is my ADV and now that I DIY Ive tried everyone's placid clone. This is by far the closest Ive made. The only difference from the real thing is the color (placid has more of a yellowish tint) and the smell of it is VERY slightly off. Although the vape is 99% identical. Thanks so much, I just made 120ml.

Hey no problem. I love placid too. And while I feel this is close its still not perfect. I think maybe the lime is a mix of lime tahity and another lime possibly inewera but i don't have that so. Placid is soo good isn't it (:

That yellow is from the nic. I once ordered a 0mg and 12mg bottle to mix to get 6mg. The 0mg was clear, the 12 was really yellow.

Very good I really don't care for that much pear especially TFA's pear. Otherwise I think it's a great recipe thank you for sharing. I wanted to try this bc of the honeysuckle always looking for ideas to use it with, I may decide to redo this one and use pear FA at 0.75. Sorry I never tried the original.
#5 by dripdropdrool, Oct 4. 2015, 17:24
Is there any TPA replacement I could use instead of Lime Tahity Cold Pressed (FA)? Not to ruin your recipe or anything, but it's hard for me to get any other flavouring other than TPA.
#6 by psyki, Oct 21. 2015, 07:56
I replaced the TFA Strawberry with INW Strawberry at 3.5%, took out the sweetener and added FA Fuji at .5% and I think it actually tastes more like Placid! You have to try it :)

@dripdropdrool The lime tahity is pretty distinctive, and hard to replace. Maybe TPA key lime, with 2 drops/ml of fresh lime juice in the finished liquid...

I like this recipe, but in this test batch I made I can already see need to ease up on the pear (over powering), and bumb up both limes. It almost feels like it's missing an apple.
#9 by vlad, Jan 5. 2016, 17:11
use FA pear. much better taste
#10 by Forever.Nocturnal, Jan 17. 2016, 05:25
I'm going to carry the torch here and sub tfa key lime for inawera lime, and tfa strawberry for capellas sweet strawberry. Here's hoping!!!!
#11 by onmywaydownnow, Jan 17. 2016, 13:47
I've done that @Forever.Nocturnal, it doesn't change it for the better IMO. I ordered some new supplies this week and hope to make an updates soon though.
#12 by 2oublethink, Mar 4. 2016, 03:45
@onmywaydownnow Have you decided on any updates to this?
#13 by Robtype0, Mar 9. 2016, 21:52
I haven't tasted Placid, but this is a fantastic vape! My PG is slightly higher due to my nicotine base though. It's delicious straight away and the flavours meld together really nicely after 3-4 days, making it even better. I will definitely try out any update to this recipe.
#14 by chalatso, Mar 10. 2016, 01:02
Just a thought: people who smell Placid when I vape it always ask if it's cotton candy. Ethyl Maltol, maybe?
#15 by Lama, Mar 25. 2016, 23:45
Made a 15 ml traded TPA pear for Cap , TPARipe strawberry and Key lime TPA for Sup. concentrated from DIY ejuice. Got so many flavors and yet always missing some lol
#16 by RuntDastardly, Apr 2. 2016, 01:17
I've never had the real Placid, so I can't speak to this recipe's accuracy, but I can say that this is a damn delicious juice, and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Thank you so much for sharing it!
#17 by xcombixgirlx, Apr 16. 2016, 04:40
I didn't have the tahity lime so I doubled up on the key lime. I subbed strawberry for the ripe strawberry and the pear for capella pear. also instead of sucralose I used whipped cream in it's place. i don't care for sucralose and also I tend to get a creaminess on the exhale of real placid so I thought that would be good. figured others like sweet cream and bavarian cream might be overpowering so far the taste test was good but gonna have to let it steep to get a better idea. Thank you for this placid has been my ADV forever and I was missing it a lot lol

first comment on this site is to say I love this recipe, I think I have made 60ml a week for almost a month now. Just had to re-order all the ingredients on this recipe. One thing to note I think it is fabulous even without the sweetener.
#20 by onmywaydownnow, May 9. 2016, 23:35
I'm glad everyone has enjoyed the recipe!
#21 by pacoverde, Jun 11. 2016, 03:03
Do you have an updated version with the one that has LA Banana Cream? I finally ordered it based on your Reddit post even though I hate Bananas and I would agree that I think that it's the missing component that all other Placid clones are missing.
#22 by psyki, Jun 11. 2016, 03:08
@pacoverde are you talking to me? I posted a Placid clone on Reddit using LA banana cream, it's on my page. Placid is one of those recipes I gave up trying to get a 100% clone a long time ago. I have a new version I think is absolutely delicious but it's not quite Placid anymore.
#23 by ab1k0, Jun 24. 2016, 14:32
I've mixed this, didn't have FA Lime Tahity (used 1% Key lime) and used sweet cream instead of sucralose. And this tastes delicious. Never had Placid so I can't compare, but what I can tell that this recipe is deeeeelicious. I've mixed a 100 ml batch straight away, we'll see how it ages.
#24 by onmywaydownnow, Jun 24. 2016, 15:46
I'm glad everyone likes this recipe. I have stopped chasing this white buffalo and moved on. I love placid but others have taken up the torch haha.
#25 by The_Ckemist, Jul 9. 2016, 16:50
Going to knock this up later, as just received a few flavours and honey suckle was in there ha
#26 by Elljay, Aug 30. 2016, 02:50
Ever since I switched to DIY, I just knew I was going to miss my Placid once it was gone. It is the ONE flavor that I could never be without. I mixed your recipe up a little over a week ago and tested it out today, side-by-side against the real deal. It's very very close to the original. So much so that I no longer have to worry about finishing up the last of my Adirondack stock. It really is nearly perfect. I'll be mixing up a huge batch as soon as I get home tonight. Thanks so much!
#27 by ADKHEX, Oct 17. 2016, 19:04
This is close but no cigar man. Trust me. But I do love seeing efforts on this flavor.
#28 by Forever.Nocturnal, Oct 19. 2016, 00:44
Haha so cool!! ^^^
#29 by Redslayer8585, Oct 28. 2016, 23:42
I was looking for a strawberry lime flavor and stumbled on this. I have to say, it is quite possibly the BEST vape I have ever had. I haven't tried the original and I don't plan on it but this has quickly become my favorite juice and ADV. I have 240ml steeping as we speak and don't plan on ever running out. Thanks for the recipe and keep up the awesome work!
#30 by VapingKrakenVK, Nov 14. 2016, 04:36
Hi anyone tried this using FW Key Lime (natural) instead of tfa key lime? I dont have any available in my country. Let me know please
#31 by iliketohideincloset, Nov 17. 2016, 20:15
I had the original a few times and was looking for a clone to point me in the right direction. Well done bud!
#32 by Dio, Jan 12. 2017, 17:11
Man........cant find words to say what this juice make me feel.....
Only thousand stars and many many thanks 2you!!!!!!!!
#33 by EVIL_INK, Jan 13. 2017, 02:34
Damn this is a great recipe. I've been trying so many things with honeysuckle and this is exactly what I was needing. Well done!
#34 by Geb, Feb 11. 2017, 16:47
Can FA Pear be subbed for the TPA Pear? Same percentage?
#35 by Geb, Mar 1. 2017, 00:27
Mixed this and steeped it for about 10 days (mixed as described except I had to sub FA Pear for the TPA which I don't have). Definitely need to breathe it for a few hours for the lime to calm down. To me this juice doesn't really taste like Placid but it is "placid-esque". It's a good lemon/lime-ish juice in it's own right. I vape this one as a palate cleanser or when I want a change of pace. This one will certainly go into my mix rotation - perhaps next time with 1 - 2% cream to soothe it out a bit. To be fair I love cream or custard in just about everything I vape. Thanks for sharing - I'm really enjoying it!
#36 by Geb, Mar 1. 2017, 02:58
EDIT - vaped this mix all day today. Although a little bit different from Placid - I think I like it better than Placid.
#37 by xcombixgirlx, Mar 1. 2017, 03:42
I had another go with this not to long ago. Changed the strawberry to ripe strawberry and added a touch of shisha strawberry and some Fiji Apple and dropped the sweetener. It's not as placid like but really good still
#38 by tazzle, Jul 20. 2017, 09:20
I haven't had the original, but this is a great recipe that's a big hit in our house! Thank you so much for all your efforts on this.
#39 by Pagh, Oct 19. 2017, 09:49
I love this stuff. Never had the original, but I always keep a bottle of the Placid clone/remix in the cupboard. I do add only 3 % honeysuckle, since it can be too overwhelming at 4 %, but otherwise it's awesome. It's bright, has a clear taste of strawberry but with the floral note from honeysuckle and crisp pear to stir it up. I don't get tired of it. Thanks for sharing!
#40 by Greg Meehan , Jul 31. 2018, 02:31
I was looking for other recipes that contained Lime Tahity and came across this one. Great recipe, thank you! I did omit the sweetner though.
#41 by sc0lm00, Aug 9. 2018, 19:58
Probably the closest to Placid I've found. The lime is a hair too strong and the honeysuckle stands out a little more. Overall very solid and definitely worth making a big batch in the future. This is sweeter than Placid but overall definitely in the Placid realm. I'd put this between Placid and Crescent City Clouds Rebirth which is a great place to be IMO.
Might be worth mixing up a batch without sweetener and maybe up the pear slightly. Either way I’ll end up mixing this up and vaping a lot as it is once my Placid stash runs low. God speed on your efforts on this one. It's gonna save me a ton of money.
#42 by MerrynBerry, Dec 2. 2018, 02:41
I'm addicted to Placid and this is pretty darn close. I didn't have the lime Tahiti so just doubled the key lime to 1% and still tastes delicious. Going to save some money with this recipe.
#43 by Mgnhd4life , Jul 15. 2019, 04:33
Very nice mix! Ive never had the original but this is definitely one to keep in rotation.
#44 by Tacofiller, Aug 13. 2019, 19:24
I have never had the original as well, that being said... this is really tasty! Thank you for sharing your awesome recipe with all of us!
#45 by AreTooMeToo, Aug 17. 2019, 21:28
Bought some honeysuckle on a whim, and checked my "what can I make" and this came up. Wow. Great recipe! Right away - very very good. The balance if a full flavor throughout. Great job!
#46 by Gsnap , Oct 17. 2019, 08:52
This is amazing, you can taste each of the flavor components. Lobed the commercial Placid so I mixed up 40ml of this recipe. Went through the 40 ml in 2 days so now I'm making at least a 120ml bottle. Thank you for this recipe!
#47 by MixingMadMan, Jan 8. 2020, 05:57
Made this 3 days ago an wow it's amazing never had the original but I love it. Awesome job thanks for the new adv
