Used TFA sweetener. I recommend TFA only but, possible others can work. This is the real deal! Have vaped over 600 mls. of this and it's spot on. Everybody who tries it, immediately smiles. It's as simple as that. Enjoy
It's cool. It does seem that that the amount of sweetener is a source of controversy. I only tried it because a juice vender told us to. I wish some others would try it side by side the real stuff and comment. Give it a try if you can, mix a small batch. Its pretty much a shake and vape but, gets better within 3 days or so.
Sophia is the only one I haven't tried. I did see a recipe somewhere tho. I'll see if I can find it. Trying to nail down Lana, the only one I still buy.
I mixed up the Sophia recipe and as a shake & vape it's good but tastes nothing like Sophia. So far it's got a heavy coconut flavor which is not present in Sophia. I think it needs some strawberry as well but I'm going to let it steep and see what happens. Either way it's a good flavor, just not Sophia.
That's good to know. Heavy coconut is not my thing. I'm gonna go sample Sophia at the shop before I mix that recipe so I can compare. Steeping should tone the coconut taste down. Sometimes the clones lead to even better juices.
Thinking I might play around with some strawberry lemonade in place of the coconut and creams. I'm thinking it might be a much simpler recipe. Based on the Betty Clone it's probably 2-3 flavors at most and heavy on the sweetener.
Does this really taste like Betty? It seems like such a complex flavor. I just figured there'd be more flavor a in the mix. Betty is one of my favorite juices and I'd really like to make this
I don't have the favors, that's why I'm asking lol. I didn't want to order the stuff to make it unless it's spot on. Have you done a side by side comparison yet?
Oh yeah, we even had it in a pinup bottle and let people use it without telling them. They were surprised when we told them it was not the real thing. Even the PG/VG ratio is the same. The only ones who question it are the ones who haven't tried it lol. Its worth ordering at least the 30ml bottle of Forest Fruit and 120ml's of TFA Sweetener. 300mls of juice with Sweetener left over for less than $20.
This recipe is pretty close. I feel like it's missing a little something. I mixed it on Sunday, and have been testing it daily. Very close though, good job! I'm looking forward to tweaking it and making it my own.
I made this as my first ejuice.. everyone loves it, some say its even better than original betty. I've made over 200mL in a week for several different people. Its 99.95% spot on; most cant tell the difference.
I did 3.5 ml Forest, 2.75 sweetner, 7 drops of cap sweet strawberry and 7 drops of cap greek yogurt (sorry for the mixed measurements) and i think i nailed it. I always thought there was a hint of Greek yogurt and a stronger strawberry flavor to it, so i took a shot.
Well I'll be damned. This is absolutely incredible.
After picking up the components and giving Forest Fruit a whiff, I smiled. I've been trying to make my own Betty clone since I began DIY, and the answer was elegant and beautiful right under my nose the whole time. Picked up 16oz of the forest mix strictly based on the comments section and I must say I am not disappointed in the least.
You nailed it, man. The massive amount of sweetener scared me when I saw it in my bottle by itself, but it definitely is how they use.
Tested side by side, they are indistinguishable. Blind taste tested with my friends, and their comments include, "Yeah, this is Betty. So what?". Once I told them I made it myself, they begged for some free juice. Ya know what? Tis the season my friends. Vaping this fantastic Betty clone by the fire. Almost brings a tear to my eye :']
The amount of sweetener freaked me out a little too. A premium vendor told us to try that much and it made the difference. Glad you like it as much as I do. With 16oz of FF you want be running out anytime soon! Lol. Trying to nail down some other flavors and will post when I get them down. Happy mixing;
Ok, i ordered everything to make this juice because betty is my absolute favorite. When i opened the Forest Fruit I, like everyone else, knew this was it. I made 120ml for my first batch and it seemed ok at first but something didn't seem quite right. After about 3 or 4 draws I get none of the flavor and it kind of just tastes like vegetable oil. I threw out that batch and tried again with just 30 ml at exact ratios above. Its a little bit better than the last batch but still does the same thing and it also seems very thin for a 75vg/25pg mix. Please someone help me. What problems may i be having?
Theirs is 10% I bought a batch from there and called directly to find out. :) so if you made a 30ml batch make another 30ml batch without sucralose and mix together to make that sweetener 5%.
Their sweetener also seemed to have a bit of vanilla aftertaste. I prefer Nude nicotine sucralose.
@Shanjier do you find that mixing both 30ml batches helps stop the coil gunking? I find that the first one or two hits are great and then it just tastes burnt. My cotton gets disgusting after only a couple of hours. Your method sounds like it could make sense.
If ecigexpress's sucralose is vg bass. How is the mix 25/75?
Also I have the ecigexpress sucralose can I mix that with the same amount of vg to get it to 5% and get double the amount of sucralose?
Are you sure its VG based? I have never used their sweetener, only TFA's. TFA's is a 10% mix and it works fine for me. From what I'm hearing, you could mix your sweetener with equal parts of VG and cut it to 5%. After that just follow the recipe. You will need to add PG in order to reach 75/25 or try it as a max VG. I've just never had VG sweetener before.
Oh. I was just going off post #41 and #43. From shanjier. Does anyone know what bass ecigexpress's sucralose is. And shanjier said "make sure it Is in vg". That would make the mix not 25/75. If it was in pg that would be perfect.
I just made 30ml of this. I let it steep for 2 days and it came out perfect. I personally think this clone is amazing. I couldn't tell much of a difference at all. Well done, sir.
So I'm having a problem. This is a great flavor at first but after about a week or so it turns really yellow and the flavor changes. The bite from the forest fruit is gone and it kinda tastes like coconut. Any ideas on how to stop this?
Oh with that much sweetner, i dont doubt it! If you look above I posted how I mix it using Cap Super Sweet, its WAY better on coils. Normal betty (and this clone) are AWFUL on coils and cotton, the super sweet version above is awesome. 12% forest fruit and 2-3% cap Super sweet
word of caution: i mistakenly thought ecigexpress's "signature" brand sweetener (sucralose) was at the same concentration as TPA's and BAM! sweet anchovies! i almost threw up, and had to rebuild my complete rig just to be safe.
forest fruit seems to be a tangy starfruit flavor with maybe a little guava and reminds me of a Hi-C drink (maybe the green one with slimer from ghost busters)
will experiment and report back on the proper amount to use with signature brand sweetener.
I am no expert, but I am using ecigexpress's signature sweetener for this at 12%, but I am going to try Tony's suggestion as this, and the original, wreck coils and cotton. I also added 4% of FW Sour to this and I am really digging it.
I tried this recipe with forest fruit and FA "TPA" Sweetener and used the listed amounts! Being that I love betty so much and usually buy 30ml a week I had to find a cheaper route! This is my first DIY ejuice and I jumped on this instantly. Just made 60ml of this recipe and it is DEAD ON! I will be trying the alternative listed sweetener above by using Super Sweet by CAP but they didn't have any in stock so I'm looking elsewhere. Thanks for this share Y2Rooster! Its the best yet!
This tastes exactly like Betty and fries coils exactly like Betty. I'm going to adapt with a different sweetener to see if my coil will last longer than a day. Thanks for the recipe!
This is probably the only FA flavor that actually needs to be pretty high to achieve the desired taste. If you go too low it has a funky taste to it. But I assume you also haven't mixed this particular recipe.
This is not a dud at all. It was posted by demand and to show how much sweetener premium vendors put in juices. The beauty is, others like tonyisballin, adapted it to fit different palettes and save coils. That's what it's all about.
I am very new to the DIY juice making. Betty is my favorite flavor and I'm currently using a cloned house juice. Looking to save $$ by making my own. I wanted to know if a 50/50 PG-VG base will work just as well as VG only in the recipe? Will it perform or taste different?
I have not tried it as a 50/50. I have a feeling the throat hit would be tremendous tho. Remember, the real Betty is a 75/25 VG/PG . Mixing a 50/50 you would probably need to adjust the percentages a bit. It would be less vapor and more upfront forest fruit for sure. I recommend the higher VG but, it wouldn't hurt to mix a small bottle and see if you like it as a 50/50. Let us know if you do. And welcome to DIY.
I have tried at 60/40. Cut it back to about 7% Forrest Fruit and 8% Sweetener. Using the ratios for the max VG in a 60/40 or a 50/50 leaves a chemical taste as Forrest Fruit has a lot going on.
I just ordered everything on the list to make this recipe as my first venture into DIY. I will report back with my assessment. I'm super stoked. I'm going to hold on to my last few mL of Betty to use as a comparison.
I just received my order from DIY Vapor Supply. Quick side note. I am a bonehead whom neglected to order VG. I got side tracked and forgot. The good people at DIY Vapor Supply included a 4 oz bottle with my shipment for free! And the shipment was here two days after i had ordered it!
Anyhow, I mixed up following the exact specifications and the exact products listed in Y2Rooster's recipe. As a shake and vape, it isn't spot on exactly like Betty but it is definitely tasty and close to it. I am going to steep it two or three days as recommended and report back with a side by side comparison. That being said I will still rate this recipe with five stars right now because, as it stand, it is delicious, easy to make, and it is a wonderful result for my first experience with DIY.
Please need some help! I have tried many ejuices but Betty is far and away my favorite. I would love to be able to make this my self so I don't have to spent $20 every 2 to 3 days. I have very basic knowledge of DIY, basically orderd PG/VG premixed with nicotine already in it then just added flavor. I really would like someone to add some links to the proper stuff to get to make this recipe, if anyone has a minute to do this I would greatly appreciate it as I haven't the first clue on what to get. I looked for the sweetener but it was evaporated milk, is that the right stuff? Sorry to bother you guys with this, I just happen to stumble upon this recipe while looking for Betty online. Thank you in advance. P.S. I need everything from the ground up.
So the big thing here is getting quality ingredients. Especially nicotine. There are a few trusted sources. Nude Nicotine, Liquid Barn. I personally use Liquid Barn. They also offer everything you need to get started, except flavor, for a reasonable price. Nicotine can literally make or break a flavor.
For flavor, there are plenty of websites. I use ecigexpress. They carry everything needed to make this recipe and pretty much everything you would want.
The sweetener is sucralose dissolved in either PG, VG, or a combo of the two. This can also be found on any reputable website that sells flavor.
.
As for safety, anytime you handling liquid nicotine you need to be wearing gloves. Keep your nicotine cap closed tightly and out of reach of anyone unsuspecting. Store it in a cool, dry, dark place. Skin contact with the liquid nicotine can lead to an overdose or other health concerns, so just be smart.
I HIGHLY recommend heading over to www.e-cigarette-forum.com and doing some reading in the DIY section. There you can find more in depth explanations of everything.
I made the first batch from the original recipe....3.2.1....happy man here! spot on, but i'm blowing through coils. I use 100mg PG nicotine...can't tell a difference from the VG base it calls for. Max 3-4 days. I want to make this at a 12mg. Any suggestions which ratio to change?
I would mix it the same way, just raise the Nic to 12%. Mix just a small batch and try it out. Adjust flavorings if needed. Maybe drop sweetener 3% and forest fruit 2% if it's too strong. Not too much to do about the coils. That sweetener is a coil destroyer. Glad you can save some dough now!
So I've got to say. I work at a vape shop in St. Louis. We sell Betty. It's my go-to juice. I found this recipe with no DIY experience. I have vaped well over 1000mL of it by now and it is my absolute favorite juice. Not only do I like it better than the original Betty by now, but this recipe actually introduced me to DIY, for which I cannot thank you enough, Y2Rooster.
And by the by, I have a question - is there a Victoria recipe out there? She's the only one I haven't found!
I haven't tried to clone Victoria yet and haven't seen any recipes for that one. I might need to put that on my list and also get back to work on Lana. I will let you know if I come up with something. Welcome to DIY! Glad this recipe opened the door to this great hobby!
Technically you can add ANY alternative to the juice. The sweetener is down purely to your preference. I don't use as much sweetener to help and there is also a super cap sweetener alternative that works wonders! The end of the day, you can put nothing but the PG/VG/NIC/FLAVOR, but the sweetener helps the bitterness and plain taste. :)
Just mixed this up at 10-10 as the 15 sounded a little absurd (no offense to Y2Rooster)and it's still a little sweet for my liking (to be fair I never had Betty) I'm gonna try 5% next. Thanks Y2Rooster for the recipe!
HOLY SH&T!!!! Super good. I never tried the original, I modded it a little. I CANNOT believe that Betty is a single flavor juice!!!! Here is what I did with it. tjek.nu/r/77wR
I've never tried Betty before but this vape is delicious. Super sweet and fruity. Turns coils black in a day, definitely a dripper juice. Can't get enough of this.
It's good. I was a bit nervous about the 10% flavour. Been looking for a new vape and kept coming back to this to try out. I used cap Sucra lose at 3% as it's the only sweetner I have. It's real tasty and leaves that lovely sweet lips I've been craving lately. Vaping it in my avocado and it's rockin. Thanks
I'm glad everyone is still making this their own and finding a good vape. Solace71... I've been rocking your Queen's Cookie remix recipe for a while now. Love that stuff. Got a lot more I need to try. Thank you
I used the original recipe with TPA sweetener to make 30 ml. and it tasted great!
Of course this drained me of sucralose (15% - whoa!) so I decided to make my own sucralose from 99.9% pure (lab grade) powder.
I made another 120ml using the home-made 10% sucralose and the liquid lacked flavor as well as the "sweet lips" effect I loved from the first batch that used TPA sweetener. Totally different! I could still get a hint of the mixed fruit and sweetness, but not the full-flavor deliciousness of the original that had me closing my eyes and licking my lips in sweet surrender to berry nirvana.
Then I read that TPA sweetener is actually 5% EM and 5% sucralose ( thanks DIYorDIE!) - so I tried using 1/2 10% sucralose and 1/2 10% Ethyl Maltol- and it was good -but there was still something missing ... the flavor was better but the "sweet lips" was still missing....
H20 - Water!!! reading the link below describes that TPA sweetener is also about 1/2PG and 1/2 water - so I added 6.75% of distilled H20 (1/2 of 90%) and boom - there it is - sweet, sugary lips!!!
so - for an exact replicate you will need 10% sucralose at 7.5%, 10% EM at 7.5% and then 6.75% of DI H20. Mixing MAX VG will yield a mix of 68% VG.
here is the link for reference - not exactly definitive; but wanted to share given my experience with this specific recipe: http://juic.org/flavors/sweeteners/tfa-sweetener/
@MadTownMax so if I were to make a TFA Sweetener "clone" how would I go about that? How many grams of Sucralose/EM if I need the end product to be 100ml of sweetener. Hope you see this. Thank you for your work!
Ok so after thinking about it for a bit I answered my own question.
Somebody please confirm: since TFA sweetener is half water/half PG, both of which have a gravity of 1g/ml (PG is a tiny bit more), we can treat the % of pure powdered EM/Sucralose as ml% (or treat the PG/H2O as grams, depending on how you look at it).
So, for a 30ml TFA sweetener clone (5%/5% EM/Sucralose) it would be:
EM powder at 5% --> 1.5 grams
Sucralose powder at 5% -->1.5 grams
Distilled water at 45% (half of what's left of the 30ml) --> 13.5ml
PG at 45% --> 13.5ml
Is this correct? If it is, we can, also, make a Capella Supersweet clone as well by simply doubling the amount of EM/Sucralose and reducing the PG/H2O. Since Supersweet is 10%/10% EM/Sucralose, from what I hear.
They're both 5%. I'm doing the same now - just ordered powdered ethyl maltose and I'll make 5 grams EM and 5 grams sucralose in 100 ml of 50/50 propelyne glycol and distilled H2O.
Your calculations look correct.
Super sweet has some other stuff in it (I think) - OT so I'll leave it to your searching.
maybe a silly question but here it goes.
If i had 10%EM and 10%sucralose from ecigexpress, Could i just mix them together and cut in half with Pg to get (TPA)? Since its 5/5. New to DIY. Thanks
You could combine 1-to-1 (do not dilute) to get the 5%/5% solution in PG. Apparently there is water in the TPA formula as well - but it is unclear how much there is and how big of an impact there would be by leaving that out - it might not make a difference. For me it seemed to give that "wet/sweet lips" effect - would be very interesting to know if that is true for others or if I'm just crazy...
I added the 7 drops of sweet strawberry that zman talked about (comment 36) and I say if you try his tweak I would go a little lighter on the sweetner or wait a bit longer for the strawberry to mix a bit better.
Hi all
I really want to give this one a go, but I am trying to avoid sucralose at all costs I have (TFA) cotton candy to use, but how much should
i use? not sure if their sweetness is comparable in a 1:1 substitution
Comparing Cotton candy to sucralose is like apples to oranges. It won't be the same recipe. But, I would try knocking the fruit down by 1/2 and adding the cotton candy to taste, Maybe 3%. You'll have a fruity cotton candy instead of a super sweet candied fruit. Either way It should still be tasty.
Is there anyone else seeing it as a cummy looking substance in color presteep? I suppose its due to a high sweetener content which is higly ixodized due to sugah, or am I tripping
This has been my ADV for months now. I make 240ml batches and it tastes the same immediately after mixed as it does after being steeped. I really don't believe this juice needs any steeping it truly is a shake and vape. Y2Rooster nailed this one.
@Loser_machine, might just be your flavoring, I get that anytime I use anything from Flavorah. Perfectly clear in the bottle then mix with vg and it turns a translucent white.
Does this recipe need this much sweetener? I just got forest fruit and divided I'd try this clone. I enjoy this recipe but immediately drop the sweetener to 10% but how would this be with only a couple %?
Less sweetener, and aaa magic mask, smooth or Mts vape wizard could help cutout the bitterness if you drop the sweetener too much just be careful though because forest mix is definitely muted with them three if used heavily
this recipe rooted me on only vaping diy. Sucralose is a known carcinogen (causes cancer) yet the vape industry is flooded with the stuff. http://www.greenmedinfo.com/blog/splenda-found-have-possible-neurotoxic-properties-animal-study#_edn5
lol i mixd up a little 10 mill bottle just to see and i have to say this is some good shit lmao i just made an extra 500 mill bottle for back up ..thanks for the recipe
I've never had the original so I cant compare but I like the flavor. I made it as is but I think I will try a new batch with about half the sweetener. It's just way too sweet.
I mixed this side-by-side to the real Betty and it's 98% spot-on to the original, and it has the sweetness spot-on too. You will change your cotton a few times a day, but so would you on the original too! It's for sure a dripping juice and never a tank juice. There is a slight (very slight) difference that honestly isn't worth chasing down because it's just that close. I don't see sub-flavors or sweetener matching as closely. Y2 just saved us all lots of money! Great Job!
Top right you'll see a blue wrench box at top of page click that then adapt. Then change your nicotine level to a 6mg instead of 100.but I hope you don't vape a 6 because you'll need to add vg and flavoring. a 6mg nic base of pg/vg/ or whatever your base is would have to be used at 100% to obtain a 6 nic lvl

Has anyone made this using Stevia instead of the TPA sucralose? I know it is better on coils, but I have only used it at small percentages (.25 or .50) so I am not sure what would be the equivalent of 15% TPA sweetener. Anyone have a clue?
Keep in mind that the sweetener shown is 50/50 sucralose and ethyl maltol so you are only replacing 1/2 of the sweetener if using stevia for sucralose and it is really the maltol that is giving the flavor in this recipe (a la cotton candy). Erythritol might be an option to replace sucralose as well - not sure how to replace the maltol though.
What if I do stevia to replace the sucralose and do a 50% stevia/ 50% EM...do you think that might work? I have never made this, nor have I had the original Betty, but I have a friend who raves about it. I want to make it, but I don't have time to re-wick my coils 3 times a day...Lol! After seeing all of the posts on this recipe, I just want to try it that much more! Thanks for the info @MadTownMax and thanks for the recipe @Y2Rooster!
Per average use rate of stevia (pyure) vs TPA sweetener use 1/2. I think that would work out to about 7.5% ethyl maltol, and 3.75% stevia - but you should start low and work you way up - you can already add more. Just the 7.5% maltol will stil kill your coils though....
I'd say 5 percent is what is used by alot of the companies that make their own version of this. But once it steeps it gets an almost litter box smell and taste to is with 10 percent ff. I usually try to sub out super sweet at about 2 percent then cotton candy and a little marshmallow to get that extra sweetness. With 10 percent forest fruit it's going to mute most accents of other flavours except the sweetness anyways and doesn't kill coils nearly as bad
I'm completely new at the DIY but Betty is my all time favorite juice!!! I'm looking to buy what I need to mix this. I am a little confused on the PG/VG that keeps getting brought up.
on Bull City Flavors....I found:
4 oz sweetener TFA
225mL VG
30 mL Forest Fruit-FA
Now for the Nicotine...I found unflavored Nciotine E-Liquid Base from Myfreedomsmokes.com...but it comes in different options not i thought i was supposed to get the 100%VG....options offered are below:
100% PG
75PG/25VG
50PG/50VG
25PG/75VG
100VG
So with this, if I got the 100% VG like recipe says....where does the 75/25 ratio of PG/VG come from?? Sorry if this is a dumb question but like i said, this is all new to me. Thanks in advance!
KK.... You will need 100% VG 100mg nicotene. With 25% flavor and sweetener which is PG based and 3% nicotine(VG ) and plain VG , that equals 75/25 VG/PG. The calculator on here will tell you how much of each you will need. If you need any more help ask away. Glad to help you anyway I can.
Would this recipe work well with pod systems and nic salts? I'm a little concerned about the amount of sweetener and wonder if it would kill the coils instantly! Lol I'm not trying to go broke buying pods! Lol
Not commenting to bash anyone's recipe, but I don't know what the hype is for Betty clones. I've tried this and have to say, I'm not a fan of whatever "Betty" is.... Just commenting for my own rating system
@Freddie You can't use Ethyl Maltol to compensate for Maltol. Maltol is much less potent in flavor and is a kind of "darker"/caramellic flavor.
Information provided to me about the sweetners/super-sweet is that:
CAP Super Sweet contains 20% sucralose
FW Sweetener contains 10% sucralose (other components unknown)
TFA Sweetner conatins 5% sucralose + 5% maltol
My personal max limit on a sub-ohm coil is 0.75% CAP S-sweet or 2% TFA Sweetener.
Has anyone found FA Forest Fruit to be harsh at 10%?? I mixed this up with 6mg freebase nic, 2% sweetener (there's no way I could use the recommended 15%) at 70/30 and it was harrrsh! Lol I love the flavour but not the burn. I also tried it with 25mg nic salts at 60/40, which for me normally has just a slight throat hit. But, not with this flavouring...again, it was harsh. Thoughts? Any help would be much appreciated 😊
I don't know what went wrong with this one but after only a few weeks of steeping it's lost all of it's flavor. Initially it was close! Not spot on... But something about this mix maybe all that sweetener??? I don't know but it degraded to nothing.
