Going to mix up some of this too. I just got done commenting on Ken O'Wheres Butter Rum Candy recipe that uses La Butter Rum. I am absolutely in love with this flavoring. It is one of a few that tastes exactly like it is supposed to. Steeps out to taste like liquid gold! I am going to play around and add it to one of the pound cake mixes. I make something very similar and keep trying new variations, I'm going to make this one up in a few. Mine is
Cap VC 7
Fw Butterscotch 4
Fw Caramel Candy 3
Cap French Vanilla 2
Cap VBIC 2
I just keep going back to this because I love it. To me it's almost perfect but I think I can make it better.

Ohhh, that sounds yummy. I think I might try yours as well. I don't have the CAP french vanilla and vbic, so will have to sub TFA. Thank you for sharing!

I only have jamaican rum FA...do you think it could be OK here,
if yes...do you have an idea of the % for the jamaica rum (never tasted it yet)

is it possible to sub custard RF by another brandt ?
have capella v1 & v2...custard flv
maybe v.swirl ...
have no ideo of its taste and intensity .

The LA Butter Rum is a candy flavor vs the Jamacian rum tastes like the alcohol. That won't work in this at all. And it is very strong and important to the richness and depth of the butterscotch. And yes you can sub the RF Custard. Honestly it's not a super good custard, I'm just trying to use it up. I would sub a combo of 2% CAP V1 and 2% either FLV Custard or Vanilla Swirl. You can try it without the Butter Rum, but it won't have that rich buttery feel and the butterscotch won't be as strong. But might still be good.

I have been told the FV Deluxe is really good and much better than the FV Creme. I have yet to get some to try. What do you think about the deluxe?

I cant really compare the two as i dont have FV but the deluxe is very nice. Not FV (RF) extract nice but very good, it does contain diketones so it gave your wonderful recipe another exclamation point of yummieness!

This is really good. I've been on a butter rum kick lately. I had to sub the Vanilla custard SC with the VG version @ 6% and it's awesome. Thanks for sharing it. I agree with ken, fanfreakintastic !!
