Looks pretty good, 10% custard might be a bit strong for me. Might try a version of this with flavors dropped by 25% except the vanillin. Thanks bro, try to hit you back once i brew up a 30ml.
Hey dude - seriously good vape. It is actually spot on. The custard kind of put me off at first, but it does eventually subside. You've saved me £££'s, as Queenside is one of my fave Five Pawns, so thank you.
Tried this mix out the other day, steeped now for 2 weeks. It's pretty damn good. I did drop all the flavors by 25%, to much flavor gives me a headache. It's definitely going in my rotation,
wanna thank you guys for the feedback its really important to me please rate the recipe if you feel like it . In Greek forums the guys where hyped too telling me the same things God bless you all and keep vaping
Very good recipe! I speed steeped the first batch as I can never wait to see how it tastes. It was good straight away if a little rough, after 3 weeks though it's pretty fantastic, just made 2 100ml bottles hopefully 1 of them will make it to the full 3 weeks! :)
@Paz thank you for taking faith in my recipe its a steep prossess thing with this one . Needs breathing too and its spot on hope you enjoy it please let one batch steep properly and it will reward you acordingly
Wow, damn close to FP's Queenside. They extract their own vanilla soy you can never truly 1:1 clone theirs, but this is just as good. Well done and thanks for sharing bro!!!
as much as I like the result, the scary warning on the vanilla custard V1 kinda turn me off... the diacetyl one... will vape moderately... but the juice is hard to put down... xD
Comparably speaking, cigarettes have over 10,000 known carcinogens in them. At 4-5 packs a day for 29 years, I can only imagine the damage I've done. So, when it comes to diacetyl, I tend to look at what I used to put into my body, compared to the amount of diacetyl I put in now. I can also tell a huge difference in taste in v2's. Fuma, its awesome you are so conscientious about your health and kudos to you for being so. Myself, I just don't think I could vape without using v1's.
@Raiderknight
Thank you, I also smoke for 16 years at 1-3 packs. back then it was helpless since the alternative to nicotine craving is not as appealing as it is now..
as for now, I just wanted to make the most of what is left on me...(while still vaping)
Hello, thank you for this recipe. I made this juice - it is now on steeping. One question to vanillin, do you mean 0,2% of 10% solution or crystals? TIA
I finally received the favors I didn't have and I just realize I ordered Natural Blood Orange FW instead of Blood Orange FW @#$@%^#@&@#.
Is there much of a difference??
I didnt adjust it , it remains the same but i need to take into considaration that i first steeped at summer time with 35++ under shade so it needs 15 days more steeping
So glad i was brave, and made 200ml of this straight away, steeped for 3 weeks now, and wow, it's tasty, first orange vape i've really liked.
This will go into my daily rotation now, kudos to you, voodootroll
for the nice recipe, well done sir
O... M... G... I have never bought nor expired in any way Five Pawns since I unable to purchase it in my stupid (poland) country I have just tried this recipe. and it's THE best liquid I have ever tasted. I mean.... it's THE liquid, And I haven't even steeped it for 20 days. Just 10 since I couldn't wait any more.
I shaked and vaped this recipe, it's awesome.. best orange recipe ever. Gonna make another batch to let it steep for couple of weeks.
Any replacement for the vanillin? Can I increase the VBIC or add another kind of vanilla flavour?
One of my first recipes since starting DIY a few weeks ago. Damn, this juice is pretty much dead on! Only been steeping a week so the flavors are still a tad harsh, but this is gonna be great! Props to voodootroll for this!
Best Orange and Cream I have ever had. Took me back to childhood days of orange creamsicles....YUMMY VAPE!!! Forget the rest...enough said. Thanks heaps voodoo....Five stars al the way for me.
@Chef Mike Vapes Not in this recipe, but I have tried subbing in a few other recipes, and it is not quiet the same. This recipe is worth buying a bottle of V1 if you want to make it as the OP intended. However, if you are concerned about the Acetoin, then carry on with V2
I wonder for you guys which Low Rated this recipe, did you mixed and tried it? Especially you with 1 Star I think you have other cause in this rating...
Briank...vanillin is optional.i never use it in this recipe and it came out just perfect.the owner of this recipe says that vanillin just round up the flavor.its your choice.
Guys here's the deal with this one. It's absolutely awful when you snv it. I mean nasty. But if you give this one the 20 days minimum, it's transforms into something very very good. No way around it with this one, it must steep! This is some dank level liquid.
@boston glad to hear Im not the only one who couldnt even vape it snv. With all the comments saying "wow great snv" thought I may have mixed it wrong... Definitely going to let this one sit for the recommended 20 days and go from there.
I seen this recipe and all the reviews had to try it mixed 250 ml I followed the recipe to the t I'm not the type that can't try it straight away so I did all I'm getting flavor wise is custard I hope with the steeping process there will be some orange in there I will leave a full review after 5 weeks wish me luck!
I got a little impatient today and had a go after a 10 day steep. It was weak and unpleasant. I've put the lid back on and will have another go in 10 days time.
@Mixtard leave it alone for another 20 there are certain batches of blood orange that are for some reason slower on steeping . at this point it should be harsh . time is your ally my friend
Just wanted to throw some credit your way... pulled out a stash of this that's been sitting a few weeks and ran it through a Kayfun 5 and the flavour is simply sublime - a truly 'grownup' vape. Anyone who doubts the importance of proper steeping should experiment with this! Cheers @voodootroll!
Just tried this on my rda after a 20 day steep. The custard developed nicely with the orange but I am still getting a flavor thats hard to describe from the blood orange, I want to say its a bit perfumy but its really not. When steeping did you every let it breath? I mixed, sealed, and left it in a dark cabinet that's all, would letting it breath possibly help? Dont want to kill the flavor by breathing it this late.

"""@Mixtard leave it alone for another 20 there are certain batches of blood orange that are for some reason slower on steeping . at this point it should be harsh . time is your ally my friend""
Yes i agree, i will say that there are many recipes with vanilla cream that are ok about steep fore 14 days, but not this one, i will say 3 week+, can it be that sitrus flavores just need longer steep?
But thx voodootroll, this is topp 3 recipe on forum fore me.
I've had another vape after what is now 25 days; it's still quite harsh and nasally. It certainly doesn't have the creamy, rich profile that the ingredients suggest. Another 10 days in the slammer maybe?
I am using V2 Vanilla Custard so maybe that explains it? Has anyone else had success using the V2 flavours?
just a thought: Could I ditch the Blood Orange and increase the Orange Cream for a creamier vape?
No, u will get a Completely different recipe, since Blood orange is one off the main ingridiense in this recipe. The only thing u can come off with too change is maybe French Vanilla (Cap) too a vanilla that u maybe like more, i like French vanilla delux by TPA, i will try that and come back with comment and differents.
Yes u can lock what proffesional mixer are saying about differents V1 and V2 (Cap) Here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyQSAupBAWg
Soo i definitely will not have change V2 with V1
About 1 month into a steep using this exact recipe. No breathing, just periodic shaking and leaving it in a dark cabinet. It has turned from something unvapeable (first 2 weeks) to something different but still not great (3 weeks) to a very unique, tasty flavor. I have not had the original juice to compare to but I wouldnt call this an orange cream flavor. It is more like a creamy orange. By this I mean the flavor is not a cream taste mixed with orange like a creamsicle, it is a very full bodied orange flavor (i attribute this to the blood orange) with a taste of vanilla infused dairy beside it. The mouthfeel of the juice is what makes this recipe excellent to vape and why i would guess a long steep makes the world of difference. The custard provides a full, creamy mouthfeel that helps cut the orange from being too in your face. Overall very pleased to have tried this unique recipe (orange creams/custards are rare compared to strawberries.
Let me repeat what many have said. This recipe NEEDS a long steep, the author recommends 20 days but for my taste that wasnt enough, dont get frustrated if it tastes off just let the bottle steep longer the custard developing is ESSENTIAL to the flavor and feel.
I`m totaly agree with u 420vapeking, and ur better too put words on it then me, (im not engelish speaking person)
But have u experians before that orange flavors need longer steeping then other fruith flavors?
I think citrus flavors need some steep time so they aren't too harsh. This is true with blood orange in this recipe and lime flavors in others ice tried. Compare that to a strawberry flavor that really doesn't change much with a steep.
Guys when i first made this recipe blood orange felt milder quite a lot now i have to say that either you drop it down to 2.5% or you let it steep over 40 days thank you all for the support
I think all recipe have a "best date", this recipe when vaped too early its harch, too old its starting too be more and more muted, for me this is best between 3 and 5 weeks, after 5 week its get more and more muted on Blood Orange, or "super smooth" like u are writhing 420, the cream flavor starting taking over, but still ok and good vape.
Overall an amazing recipe, best soo fare on this netpage.
At a week just tried it.... For some reason I get a slight taste of almost like a fruity pebbles'sh sort of flavor. But then again that's just me... Need to steep it another 10+ days. Just thought I'd try the 1st stage see how it came out :) good job
Dio, u cant sub. blood orange, its what make this recipe soo amazing, and follow instruction about steep time, personely i think this recipe need 3 weeks.
After many attempts and an eight week steep, I've given up. I think this is a recipe that really needs the V! vanilla Custard and just wont work with the V2.
After going through loads of this recipe, I finally tried the original yesterday! You weren't kidding when you said it was spot on! A note to those re steeping - I noticed my latest batches needed longer to steep to get the same result. Don't know if this is due to variations in the blood orange or maybe even the change to cooler weather. 3 weeks was ok before but now maybe 5-6 if you have the patience.
Tried this with several subs on 7-31-17.. It was pretty good then. Tried again on 10-13-17 after acquiring all the correct ingredients and let it sit until today (11-3-17).. As Emeril Lagasse says.... BAM..! Great work voodootroll....!
I had one last try today before I was to tip 100 ml of this stuff down the sink and it was actually really nice. The blood orange was still well and truly there but it had softened into something nice. I used V2 Vanilla Custard and if you use the same, it really needs a 2 month steep.
Yes its whats all good mixers saying about V2 Vanilla, its need longer steep time, V2 dont contains Acetoin and Acetyl Propiony, thats why it need longer steep.
I replaced orange cream with TFA orange cream bar and so far, this is the best recipe I ever used in DIYing. Considering adding some sweet cream for a creamier taste.
Hi guys after some advice fairly new to mixing I mixed this up 2 week ago what is the best steep time followed the recipe exactly but mixed it at 50/50 rather than 30/70 would this affect how long I need to steep it for ?
I tried this one with the suggested %s, using the exact same flavours and left it steep for 20 days as suggested. I don't know why but the (strong) blood orange taste is awful to me. Makes me want to puke. Reading the reviews this is really strange to me. Will it benefit from more steeping? Can I add something to tone down the orange flavour?
Hi mousi, its strange that u getting strong blood orange after 20 days, it sud start blending realy good at that time, i suggest u let it steep longer, the vanilla flavor will take more and more over after 20 days. I will say all recipe with cream have a "best date", fore me personly i think its at it`s peek betwin 3-5 weeks, after 5 weeks i feeling it get more and more muted, but still ok vape. Have a nice weekend Regard from Norway.
Thanks 2Fargone. I will try letting it steep for a bit longer. I'm sure it must be something I'm doing wrong. Good to know that the blood orange taste is not normal though. Have a nice weekend
Normaly i dont take cap off when steeping, spesialy with fruit flavores, but if u want too "boost up steep time", take cap off and put it in a hot bath, and let it stay a day with cap off after hot bath.
Or if u have a laptop, put bottle where the hot air comming out.
Mixed this a few week back exact to the recipe but in a 50/50 mix it's had just over 4 weeks steep now, tried a tank and it's pretty unpleasant to vape any suggestions maybe letting it breathe for a while and how long ?
Not soo mutch too say, U mix it in a 50/50 blend, im not soo suprice that it turn off unpleasant, there are not many recipe that will turns good with that blend. (my personel opinion)
What too do, just try too mix more VG in, and hope fore the best, after 2-3 more weeks more steep.
I've read all the reviews. I have vaped the real queen side. I am made this recipe tonight with exact ingredients and measurements. I am a little suspect about this recipe. I will be a fair and honest judge after a long steep.
Found this recipe when i was looking for something with orange and vanilla. Replaced CAP French Vanilla with the TPA version for now, i hope it doesn't throw it off too much. Thanks for sharing!
any possible subs for the blood orange? I find orange flavors to be way too "in your face" so I always cut the orange at least in half percent wise (much like how many people find cinnamon way too strong in their juices). I have CAP juicy orange and I also have CAP and FA grapefruit. I fully understand it "won't be the same" etc. - I've never tried queenside so close or not close doesn't matter to me in this case - I'm more after something likely to be good given the flavors I have in my stash. and I'm not huge on orange anyway. I do enjoy making the popular recipes and although this one isn't exactly my profile I'd like to try it anyway - I've been pleasantly surprised with other recipes that weren't exactly my thing before. trying to mix close to the recipe using what I have. I'm not likely going to buy blood orange just to mix this. any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
I made this with the exact ingredients. I vaped 30 mils of it after a 30 plus day wait. I thought I'd get use to it, never did, I wanted to like this but it's just not good for me. I wouldn't go out and buy the ingredients if you don't have them. I don't understand the hype of this but to each his own.
Geb, tell me how it turns. It is different and I haven't found an orange I like to vape, it's a weird flavor to me and mixing it with 10% caps custard, that is a ton for me, so you get the typical cap custard with a buzzing orange flavor but a lot of reviews are very positive on this. I've been mixing for 5 years, usually I find two I like and will vape that for a long long time. I've been on a ry4 thing lately. I was loving creams and custards etc for a long time then my palate changed and I vaped fruits for over a year, now I'm back into custards, just not this one. Let me know how this recipe turns out for you. The last few months I mixed most of the top rated juices here and if you look at the dates, they're a few years old. I tried the one here "tart be a lady" was so highly rated but so disappointing.
Geb, kanzi clone is a top favorite. I think your right about older recipes. I've tried the unicorn milk, I think you might be referring to the one by cutwood clone. I didn't love it. Cinnamon vapes, when Capella came out with the graham cracker, I loved it, could taste the cinnamon. Then I found Cinnamon danish swirl, made and amazing apple pie and vaped that daily for a year, then my palate got stale and I can't vape it anymore. It's been very hard to find concentrates here (Philippines) but recently I found a company in Europe. Finally was able to try the much read about flavorah flavors, still adjusting to them but not a big game changer like I thought. I've had no luck with mangos at all, try them all. I think because I live where the freshest and best mangos in the world are,the juice doesn't translate. I don't know anyone on this little island that makes juice, so it's good talking to you.
This is very nice after a long steep. I mixed it without the blood orange (don't have it) and still very tasty - especially in a dripper. Will order the blood orange to mix as described - either way one of the best orange vapes I've tried. thanks for sharing.
Had to sub the blood orange for tangerine FW and I know the vanillin was optional but used Madagascar vanilla in its place. Smells fantastic now just gotta steep...on second thought I might make another to steep and one for now haha. Thanks voodootroll 👍🏻👍🏻
Very good mix! Tried it for the first time after nearly a two month steep and I must say, I’m impressed. Simple yet delicious blend. Good job on this one mate.
I received the flavors and I prepare 50 ml on a 70/30 base! I also want to do one on a 50/50 basis with 16% flavors. Do you have any advice for the 50/50 base? is it possible to make a concentrated One shot? I'm italian and so sorry my google-english!
I never tried 50/50 blend off this i guess it will be totaly different, just try with 50/50 and 60/40 10-15ml, and come back and tell us the differents.
What i have tryed is too put Mentol and Koolada in, that works verry well:) (just 1%)
5 Pawns QS is one of my favorite commercial juices. was a little apprehensive about this recipe because of the high % of custard.
Decided to make 200ml and let it steep for 2 full months. Tasted for the first time today and it is very nice. Hopefully it will just continue to mellow with age. Thank you sir for all of your work on this recipe.
HM7 - I think all recipe have a "best date", this recipe when vaped too early its harch, too old its starting too be more and more muted, for me this recipe is best between 3 and 5 weeks, after 5 week its get more and more muted on Blood Orange and the vanilla starts come more forward, after 2 months this must be super smooth, i guess some ppl like that.
2Fg that is interesting. The first time I tasted Queenside I bought a bottle from an Ebay dealer that was having a closeout sale. When I received the bottle it was dated on the label and was 3 years old! I was concerned and a little angry until I vaped it. It was delicious and to this day the best e liquid I have ever vaped. After 2 months I'm still getting a little custard twang from VT's recipe but overall I think it is a nice vape.
really big fan of queenside, tried this recipe, after stirring through magnetic almost 30 hours, let it steep for 5 weeks, In my opinion should lower the blood orange, its too much overpower.
Yes I can get a nice blood orange cream vape, but I can't get the unique or bold creamy similiar as the original one. Overall, nice recipe!
You're a genius dude! Really nice recipe. It's really tangy as shake n vape. (in a good way) It lost some of that tangy note after a few weeks. but than I had something with tfa sour on my coils left and that totaly brought it back to life. Am really loving this. Great work 10/10!
Superb flavour tried after 11 days . Decided to make another batch . Can see this being my adv for a long time now ! Thank you for creating this wonderful flavour eliquid
tried after two months of rest and it's perfect! for me the vanilla custard is too much and gives me a headache! I wanted to try to put only 5% of vanilla and keep the rest equal .... do you think it is feasible or unbalanced the recipe? congratulations voodotroll !!
Just try it. 30 ml as starter, mix it and heat steep in crockpot. Let it cool and vape it, damn! It's delicious. So I just need to make another 100 ml for a proper steep. Thank you for the recipe.
Thanks for your work on this recipe! Have been looking for a good DIY orange cream vape that I can taste for the longest time! I did adapt to flavors I have onhand, but kept your percentages pretty close. Like it a lot, thanks again!
Finally here is my opinion! I changed Blood Orange (Natural) (FW) with Blood Orange (FA) and it was just how you wrote, I do not know what magic happened in the last 5 days, but after 45 days it's great. Up to 40 days was simply disgusting. Thanks for the recipe and of course 5 stars.
Hey all, new to mixing and was reading about the v1 vs v2 comments above. Do all the v2 versions not have the diacetyl or components with potential hazards? Thanks for the recipe - counting down the days to try it out!
Mixed 240 ml's and im seeing different time periods on steeping, so is 40 days the norm? Im not breathing it whatsoever just used a frother and bottled it and stuck it in the cabinet.
Well a 30 day steep and its not to shabby. Anxious to see how this develops over the next week or so since 40 days seems to be the recommended steep time.
Have to come back after MONTHS of letting this one steep.
TBT, I made one sub at same percentage, going from French Vanilla (CAP) using French Vanilla Creme (TFA).
It was purrty narsty at first. I let time do the steeping, so didn't heat... set it aside and forgot about it.
Fast forward 3 months. It's amazing.
I believe I need to bring up the percentage of French Van (TFA) a bit, as the cream is overpowered by the Blood Orange.. next batch will do so, probably bring the Orange back 1/2% or so as well and see.
And then wait.
What a recipe! I love it. I made it at 12% total and kept the vanillin unchanged. Blood Orange was FA....and after 4 days of steeping it was already so delicious!
Great job, even if I don’t know the original.
