You can go up to 5% sweetener if this is not sweet enough, as I found that is probably closer to what is in the original commercial version. You could also sub it for 2% Cap SS, or if that is too sweet for you, 1% Cap SS. You could also use up to 3.5% FW or JF sweetener. Or 0.75% of FLV Sweetness if you want to avoid the sucralose altogether.
absolutely without a doubt the best mega melons recipe on this site. I have tried 5-6 different highly rated versions and none compared to this. I am telling you if you want the perfect clone this recipe is it. Jennifer you have amazing talent and thanks a million again!
@Mike follow the recipe as posted and forget all the others on this site this is the Melons recipe 100% without a doubt....use specific gravities also if you can
If you happen to have a bit of bubblegum...try replacing the honeydew with 0.5% bubblegum. It's not the same recipe, but it's pretty awesome. For another alternative, try 1% of an energy drink flavor. To keep you in the same family of flavors, Kiwi also works, or passion fruit. It obviously changes the recipe completely, and it is no longer mega melons, but it's pretty good.
I tried original mega melons and was not impressed - this just as a SNV is incredible. I know i'm a sucker for the sweet vapes but it brings out so much more flavor - thank you!
Hella harsh. Id try juicy mango cap. Mixed exactly as u have with alot less sweetener. I like the idea but the recipe needs help. Tpa mango has a wierd note.
Johnny, it's a clone of cuttwood mega melons. CAP mango wouldn't go right because it's not the flavor that actually was in the og. I did however make a V2 that you might like better. It's obviously not a clone of mega melons but a revision of the profile using other brands of flavoring. To me V2 is far better, but I am also super sensitive to aromas and this recipe, like the original, is a bit strong for me. The harshness does fade after about 2 weeks steeping. Fresh it can be a bit much. Oh and as far as the sweetener goes, for a commercial clone, it might be on the lower end of what is actually used. Their juice is rather sweet.
Jennifer, have you tried this recipe with super sweet rather than sucralose sweetener? Citric acid from super sweet will add an ever so slight lemon and the sodium citrate would create a sour/sweet addition? Im going to try this exact recipe with 2% super sweet to replace sweetener.
The recipe is a clone. It is styled after the actual juice which is rather sweet, in fact it is actually sweeter than my version. You all are welcome to adjust the sweetener to your own taste preferences, you do not have to follow my amount exactly, unless you are looking for more of the clone experience of the commercial version of this juice. As I've stated I prefer Flavorah Sweetness over Sucralose, and have a V2 of this recipe with FLV and FA flavors instead. If you are using CAP Cantaloupe anything between 4% and 6% might be suitable to your tastes, since it is almost the same concentration as TFA. 5% I am sure would be fine.
due to I never tried any commercial premium juice at all and I kinda dont want to hhhh, I started DIY for the reason to fidget with something to get me off the poison cigarettes and I have been mixing/vaping for almost 3 years all flavors made by me and recipes by other mixers like you, I have made two batches one to my liking and your original recipe ill keep you update to where thats gonna lead me i did like it after 24/h tong dripped "yah am the crazy one that drinks his ejuice when the battery dies :P " and vaped it the flavors are not yet there but oh boy i can see where this is going and cant wait for it to hit 3 weeks anniversary
Made this and is good. But after using it, every juice I put in my tank tastes muted melon hahahha. I have vaped 2,5ml of mega melons and after I vaped in the same tank (Serpent mini) Mothers milk, Pancake man and now milkman, but the melon is present muting the flavors of these juices. Oh man I need to keep an exclusive tank for this juice. Is it happening only with me ?
To be honest I was a bit nervous when making this because some of the flavors had a smell I didn't find appealing at all. However, once I made it I have to say it's definitely one of my favorites! The vape is good but the after flavor is what makes this amazing in my opinion, it leaves a delicious taste in my mouth!
For comment #27 @Sergio Fagundes -- it isn't just this recipe. Many flavorings will soak into your cotton and leave a slight residue of the existing flavor. That happens whenever you put drastically different flavorings into the same tank without changing your coil prebuilt coil (if you're sub tanking) or cotton with a quick rinse of your tank (without changing the coil - unless it needs it) in an RTA. This is one of the reasons I tend to use drippers rather than tanks, simply because I am changing flavors often and need to change my cotton and give my RDA a quick rinse out.
hi guys and girls. im new here, in fact this flavor sounds so good i just received all the ingredients and it will be my first time mixing. i have a noob question, i see comments that steeping time, roughly a month, brings out an amazing flavour. i had a question on the steeping, do i simply put it n a dark place for a month or shake it up now and then/ let it breath for an hour or two etc?
Speedee- I wouldn't breathe this recipe. You will lose too many of the top notes by doing so. It doesn't really need it either. Some folks love it shake and vape, I find a week or two steep and it is smooth and sweet. A full month is when it is at peak flavor, meaning the flavorings have completely stabilized. Where you steep it is up to you, I steep things right on my desktop, others put them in drawers, boxes, or cabinets.
Nice job on this Jennifer. I adapted it to go with what I have on hand and what flavors I prefer so I'm sure mines a little different in the flavor category. I used Purilum Golden Eye instead of tpa mango, FA cantaloupe (dropped it to 3%), and added 2% Purilum melon patch. Waited a week to try it and so far it's a nicely balanced and smooth melon collaboration of flavors. Almost creamy as well. Thumbs up!
Haha @Bane213 -- I'm glad the recipe could serve as inspiration for your own creation. That is one of the reasons I put recipes out. Not everything will work for everyone, heck I'm not even the biggest fan of this recipe, it was just intended as a clone, and I wasn't a fan of the original juice. I remixed this recipe many times using many different ingredients, all that came out far better. I did release one of those versions using all FLV flavors at super low amounts which fits my tastes. I've also done versions with FA and Cap and MF and INW. I've liked most of those versions far better. Nice to know Golden Eye can work as a sub for the TFA mango. I've not tried that flavor yet. :)
@speedee -- I would imagine using the v2 of honeydew would be about the same amounts. Pretty sure the v2 one is only missing the alcohol that the original version had to make it easier to ship, I don't think they really changed the formula for the flavor itself all that much.
@jennifer, I've actually never tried the original Monster Melons. But love a good melon vape. I've made a bunch of my own and always switch around the ingredients myself. Definitely try Golden Eye. If you like mango, it won't disappoint. Not sure if it works for a sub for TFA because I never tried TFA mango. CAP sweet mango was my only other choice and not a fan of that one.
@jennifer - i dropped the sweetner to 1% and added 2% distilled water to avoid the wicking issues of my first batch.. i made it first with 0nic, but i made a second batch with 3mg and the adjustments...allowed 3 days steeping and boy oh boy.. if this was a drug id be in hospital because of an overdose! love it!
Jennifer's Mega Melons has become one of top 3 favorite liquids. I have just mixed up my 3rd 100ml of it. I do not have the TPA so I have been using JF Honeydew that seems to be fine. I also use FW sweetener. What I enjoy is the robust balanced melon flavor and appropriate amount of sweetness. I looked at Jennifer's Version 2 and even though the percentages used seem unbelievably low, if I had the appropriate flavors I would try that as well. If anyone has mixed V2 please add a comment.
I finally got the flavors for Jenn's original MM clone and have been vaping it for a couple of weeks now. It is a very smooth and gentle and mellow vape. I find, however I prefer my mix in which I used other flavor concentrates that I had on hand in lieu of her flavors , including a big cotton candy (ethyl maltol) error. It is a much brighter flavorful experience and I find it my go to liquid especially great in RDA's see 'Mama Melons My Way' if interested in trying it.
Jenn is a wonderful talented mixicologist (sp?) and she has a very good series of YouTube videos that are highly recommended. I look forward to further inspirations from this lady.
I tried the other melon clone a year or so ago, there was something off about it but became pretty good after 5-6 weeks steeping.
Does this one require a long steep?
I didnt have honeydew so debated between dragonfruit or watermelon candy tfa. I went with watermelon candy....we will see
Any substitutes or changes will result in a different profile. I encourage folks to use my recipes as inspirations, but if you never try the origin recipe you won't know how it compares with your creations. Not using honeydew changes the recipe drastically. Using dragon fruit or watermelon as subs will change the flavor profile drastically. As for steep time, as you see from the comments, can be shake and vape, 3 day steep, or 6 week steep...just depends on how you like it. Personally, most things I vape have at least a 4 week steep with exception to a few shake and vape recipes that I like to vape.
Спасибо большое за рецепт! Так как у меня нет Papaya, я заменил его на Peach juicy. Получилось очень вкусно. Буду ждать настоя и тогда смогу оценить полноценно.
I started out DIYing because I wanted to make a monster melons clone, and this was the first recipe I made. Hasn’t quite finished steeping yet but after 3 weeks it’s already exquisite. A great start, thank you Jennifer.
Never had the original so can't compare. But I'm really enjoying this, although I "only" used 2 % sweetener. I may go down to just 1 % next time, but I wouldn't change any of the actual flavorings. Thanks for sharing!
Rinaldo I didn't feel like it needs steep time for me, I vape it after 2-3 days anyway and it still tastes the same after one week steeping.
But I really recommend this one so smooooth and delicious!!
Not everyone needs to steep their fruity types of juice as long. It has to do with the differences between us all as unique vapers. I tend to find most juice harsh for at least the first few days. I do have some flavors though that I can vape fresh without much issue. Other flavors need to steep at least 3 days, or 1 week, and then others need a full 4 to 6 weeks, some even nearly 8 weeks to be fully steeped and not harsh. This is the same way some people like CAP V1 Vanilla custard fresh, others taste pepper, and others still love it at 3 months steeped. Everyone's different and over time you get to know what you like and how you like it when it comes to mixing recipes of your own. :)
Followed the recipe exactly. Steeped for 4 weeks. Tried RDA and Tank at different settings over period of 1 week. Never tried the original, but disappointed with this recipe. Not much flavor, but kinda soapy taste
This is a very identical or exactly the same vibe and flavor with the original version ive tried.
I mixed this with less sweetener cause i cant help imagining vaping 3% sucralose so i downed it to 2%.
And then steep for about 4-5 days, doesnt take much to steep i believe, and the result damn so flavorful! And its a good flavour combination too.
Very well done.
Hi Jennifer could you possibly advise me on percentages for Fa melon cantaloupe, Fa papaya, Jf honeydew melon and Fa mango(costerica special) thankyou in advance I've been wanting to try this for ages ;)
I was wondering if you think it would be possible to use Phillipine Mango (TPA) as a sub for mango (TPA), I only have the Phillipine in my stash so don't have a clue how they compare.
Absolutely without a doubt the best Mega Melons recipe on this site! I have tried different highly rated versions and none compared to this. I am telling you if you want the perfect clone this recipe is it. Jennifer thanks again!
Super delicious!! I've never tried the original, but tried the Mike's melon clone first because it had more ratings, but yours is much better. That little bit of honeydew really does It! Thanks so much!
@Rudrar, if you're going CAP super sweet, I'd go with a range between 0.5% and 1.5% depending on how sweet you want it. CAP SS is significantly sweeter than the 5% sucralose that TFA's sweetener has in it. You might even want to go down to 0.25% on CAP SS if you don't want it ridiculously sweet.
I cannot begin to tell you how pleased I was to vape this.. I made a test batch 10ml, was patient and let it steep for about 10 days, and the end result is an AMAZING, FLAVOUR PACKED vape experience!! Thank you so much ma’am!!! Love from India.
Honeydew V2 from TFA should be the same amount. The only difference between them is the original has alcohol in it that made it flammable. The formula for the melon flavor is the same though as far as flavoring chemicals.
Yes it may need up to a 6 week steep for some people.
Jennifer u are a genious, it was because of your youtube and other youtuber videos i started DIY. And what do i see at the top recipes? Your name and i had to try it out so i bought all the flavours and i made this a week ago. And its so great i mean its just heaven for me, people like you make us really enjoy vaping, i really love you guys helping others and sharing your knowledge on youtube and posting recipes on here. If i may ask you one question what do you think of throwing in some koolada in this recipe, will it screw up the taste or something? if not then how much would u reccomend for this one? im used to malaysian ejuice brands bcuz they have that cooling effetct that i like.If i could throw in some koolada in this it would be my ADV for a very long time. Thank you very much Jennifer.
I'm glad you have found the inspiration you needed for your mixing journey. For your question, TFA Koolada won't give you the same results you are seeking in terms of coolness, as if you push it high enough to give a good cold feeling you also get a cough drop taste. Might be better to look at WS-23, or ws-5, or ws-3...the smaller numbers means colder, so 3 is colder than 23, and I can tell you ws-23 30% is super cold at 0.4%. You can use TFA Koolada or FA Polar Blast in this recipe with good results if you don't want super cold but mild cooling, using up to 1% of each of those, but anything over 1% often gives the cough drop kind of taste to them.
Thanks for your reply Jennifer, im gonna look into WS, never heard of it before now, always tought it was koolada in it :) Thanks for sharing your knowledge its much appreciated.
Oooh lookie here. I'm number 100!!! :) Jennifer I didn't have the TPA Mango so I subbed with FA using it at 2%. Not sure how much this altered the taste of your recipe but I can say this turned out very nice. Thanks for the generous share, as always!
Hi Jennifer! Thanks a ton for this recipe. I mixed it 6 weeks ago, and till the 3 week mark I found it too strong/sharp/harsh for me to enjoy on my DTL tank.
Today I topped it in my MTL and am enjoying it a lot!
I was wondering if I could add something to get a vanilla/bakery note in it, and also if 0.3% Smooth could help taper it for me a bit. Thanks again!
Cotton Candy (10% EM/Ethyl Maltol) (TPA) I realize this is Circus Cotton Candy-TFA (TFA=TPA) Same thing.but the product I found doesn't *have 10% EM.EXCEPT HERE WHERE I'm getting recipes (majority) I noticed crystals or powder an notice "10% Pure Ethyl Maltol crystals (EM) from The Flavor Apprentice (TFA) dissolved in propylene glycol. EM helps round out flavors, reduce sharp notes and adds sweetness as you add more in your mix." Heres linK - https://www.bullcityflavors.com/ethyl-maltol-pg/. Does this mean I add 10% to the CircUS (TPA) here it is CIRCUS CANDY - https://www.bullcityflavors.com/circus-cotton-candy-tfa/
I see off the DIYMomma website she prefer FLV Sweetness at 1% is it ok or make huge difference if i get SUPER SWEET CAP - https://www.bullcityflavors.com/super-sweet-cap/ OR should I get BOTH Sweetness-FLV? Sorry for long message doubt ill get reply. I really really would appreciate it :)))). So the sweeter is it ok to replace Sweetener (Sucralose/Maltol) (TPA) *Which idk where to get" with Super Sweet - CAP? Also with the Circus Cotton Candy-TFA do I need to get the which by the way imget getting cotton candy circus link above do I need to get 10% EM/Ethyl Maltol) (TPA) this - https://www.bullcityflavors.com/ethyl-maltol-pg/ an add to it? Please guide me please ireally really would appreciate it!
@Sidhu - You could add up to 1% smooth if you wanted to really play with it fresh or sooner. Smooth mellows stuff out usually in a couple of days steep. But if you are going to add a vanilla note along with smooth, I would go with your idea of 0.3% to 0.5% smooth, with something like FA Oba Oba at like 1% or FA Vanilla Classic at 0.75%, or FLV Vanilla Bean at 2%, or CAP Vanilla Cupcake at 1.5%, TFA Vanilla Swirl 2.5%....any of those vanillas would work to add a hint of vanilla, adjust percentage as you need it.
@Cryptic Flavors - You can use TFA Circus Cotton Candy if you want, it is more Ethyl Vanillin than it is EM, and has a few other molecules in it. It will add more of a vanilla note than the plain EM will. You can also dissolve your own EM crystals if you wanted to. TFA does have a plain cotton candy that is just 10% EM. Some of the vendors do list it just as EM or TFA EM, some of them list it as cotton candy, some of them list the EM in the additives sections rather than with the flavors.
As for the sweetener, use what you are comfortable with. I am pretty sure they used Super Sweet in the commercial eliquid because it was sweeter than TFA's sweetener and gunked coils more than FW's sweetener. You can try FLV's Sweetness if you'd like, but it isn't as sweet as sucralose.
Ordered all that I was missing plus some others from other recipes. Should be there before I am back from vacation Sat. So a mixing I will go ! Really looking forward to this one. My favorite melons on top of that. Will keep updated.
Ty for sharing
After 11 days so far steeped, WoW !! B ea u ti ful coming together very nicely. Every fruit in this recipe speaks for itself on the inhale, on the exhale as a cool vape it's a wonderful tasting blend of all the fruits combined with just the perfect roundness and lightly sugary on the lips after effect. Great Job, thanks for sharing. This is also going into my rotation. I can hardly wait to see what happens after about 10 more days. Back in the cool, dark closet to see how much better it gets.
This is the best recipe I tried from this site. To be honest, most of them were horrible for my taste (even the top rated), but this one is really good. And I'm not even a big fan of melons.
It really has a "premium" feeling to it. And since I first tried it (~ 3 months ago) I always have some in my drawer. Thanks a lot for sharing. 5 Stars.
After almost 4 weeks steep and this is now my #1 go to Recipe out of all. Perfectly balanced and full of bursts of sweet fruits. 10 🌟 in my book. Thank you for sharing this.
I just finished my first 120 ml and wish I would have made 240 ml bottle. What the heck I Love the combination and the sweetness on the Melons. Again TY @JenniferJarvis for sharing.
I'm a vanilla custard lover.I love my strawberry vapes.I wanted something different,as I don't do many fruit vapes, and wanted to mix it up a bit on my juice choices.I really loved this recipe. It put a whole new light/attitude in me for fruits. It was so delicious, and I thank you for broadening my vape horizons.Certainly a 5 star job!Very well done!Wish I could have given you a 10 star rating.Thank you! :)
Thanks Jen, this is only the second juice i’ve tasted that immediately earned ADV status. And it hasn’t even steeped yet, I can’t wait to see how it improves so i’m already preparing a larger batch.
You can mix this without EM and without sweetener, but if you are coming in off commercial juice, those two elements are important to get the type of taste you get from the commercial version...though I think the commercial version is has CAP Super Sweet in it at a lower percentage because it does gunk coils. TFA's isn't as strong of a sweetener and contains Maltol so it adds a little more richness and depth to the melons. The EM does the same thing to the melons. I do have an alternative V2 version of this recipe done with Flavorah and Flavourart flavors that is a touch lighter and more realistic over more ripe and candy like melons.
If you enjoyed this recipe please be sure and check out my you tube channel under Flavor-Pro or my name, my team and I do a weekly live show on Wednesday's at 7PM EST. We answer questions and cover various topics of mixing. We're covering a lot of beginner stuff right now if you're needed help. We also have a discord (you can find the link on YT) and a facebook group.
@onurcandan, my first ADV was the My Dude (My Man remix) by Enyawrektlaw (hope that's spelled right, but probably not.) Totally delicious, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Since mixing this I also discovered the ELEMENT Pink Lemonade clone recipe, which is also amazing and a great ADV in my book.
Do you have other ADVs? If so, which ones?
This recipe is great vaped it most of the summer. I dropped the sweetener all together ( kept the EM). And also added .5% koolada and .5% Extreme ice and it's been a really great juice.
Awesome recipe! I can't remember a MM recipe that I enjoy this much. Thank you, Jennifer Jarvis.
Quick question, I feel the favors are a bit underwhelming. Could it be because of my 3 year old flavors losing potency? Thanks in advance for your inputs.
@UglyTiger -- Yes flavors can lose potency over time. My own TPA stash is about 3 years old as well and many of them are losing their flavor and I've had to replace many that I needed to use. And the fresh ones were drastically different and stronger than the older ones. I do give TPA about a 4ish year shelf life though towards the last year or two you're getting somewhat degraded flavors, even if they are in TPA 4oz bottles or bigger. That's what most of mine are and they've started losing their usefullness, though some of them actually taste better old to me after losing some of the off notes I taste. When stored in LDPE (the squishy plastic) they will degrade faster.
I just added about 25% additional flavors, and it seems to pop more. I can't wait for it to steep, so a quick 10 minute hot bath, and vape on. It's time to buy new flavors. Thanks again for an awesome recipe, Jennifer.
@Jayhuz...thanks for trying it out. FA cantaloupe melons is a good sub. Actually I am thinking of remixing this for a third time with the new FLV honeydew and melon rind flavors too. So keep an eye out for a new version coming in the next month or so. :)
Hi Jennifer, thanks for sharing an getting back to peeps, I’m keen on this mix but no (TFA) Papaya only FA Papaya and FA Ace. I’ve never seen so many peeps and comments on one recipe 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks keep up.👌
@#143 Houseofpain - FA papaya is drastically different. FA Ace is too many tropical fruits together to it. Not that you couldn't mix it with those, you can always try it and see how it is...it's just not going to taste the same as the recipe. And I wouldn't suggest using the same percentages, I'd go far lighter on FA flavors than I did on the TFA.
@#146 Rewzik, for you as well, sure you can use them. I don't know how the percentages for those two will translate, you may need to make adjustments. They are fairly different in terms of taste between the brands, so it's primary flavors are going to be completely different from this recipe, so I'd consider it a remix of the original, over a sub, as it changes substantially the overall profile by changing the main notes. That being said, I'm sure they will work fine if you enjoy CAP flavors. Personally I'm not much of a fan of CAP, but then I don't even like this recipe with the TFA. It's just not my preference for melon notes, I like FA and FLV's melon flavors better. But I like TFA Papaya and Mango. So I do use them. I just use different melon flavors that don't taste like bubblegum to me. I also think Real Flavor's Mango would be a nice sub in this recipe. It's a nice Mango.
@ Everyone else who's put up comments recently who are enjoying the recipe, Thank you for giving a it try. I'm glad it's hit that sweet spot for some people. Putting recipes out public is kind of like cooking for your family, you know it may not be everyone's favorite dish, but you hope one or two members are happy with the meal. And you hope you'll make something another night that will please the rest of the family even if the happy two tonight are unhappy those nights. I try to put a bit of stuff out there for anyone, but not everyone will like everything, and some will be loved by a few, and then there are some that are just basic staples that don't get raves, don't seem fancy, that makes someone's day. :)
Hi Jennifer, thanks for that, I went FA Ace @ 2.4%, haven’t tried yet,
An order just came so I got TFA Pap now so I’m all good pretty keen to mix your recipe still. Thanks for this take care.
Superb!!
Made 20/5/19. Waited a month and its a BANGER...
dont usually do fruits, but fancied a change. Glad i mixed this. Very impressed. Thanks for sharing.
Hey, Jennifer. I've read all comments and didn't find anything relevant. Can I substitute TPA Honeydew with any other Honeydew brand? And at what percentage? Thank you.
Since honeydew is not the main melon note, you can sub other honeydew flavors, or like FLV Wild Melon and the percentage is just going to vary depending on the brand. Start around 1% move it up or down in amount in a different version to suit ypur tastes
I try to put more honeydew at 0.8 but it didn't change so much the recipe without steeping. I did a pure melon version replacing mango and papaya with cantaloupe and honeydew it was good. Nest time i will try to put watermelon in place of mamgo and papaya to see how it will be.
I wamt to see how the recipe will be after steeping but till now i am doing just 30 ml and vapimg them in 4 days.
What do you think of replacing mango and papaya with watermelon and do you have a good watermelon brand as i never try a watermelon concentrate. But when i startt to vape i used a mix of melon and watermelon eliquid.
Thank you again for the tasty recipe
My girlfriend has been vaping Naked 100 All Melon exclusively for a few years now. Not a melon guy myself (no pun intended lol) but I decided to make this one for her. I let her try it and the bottle was empty the next day. Gonna have to keep this one on tap now! Thanks for such a great recipe she really enjoys it! 👍
@Papiros that is probably a really good replacement. I like mango and tango. I think with all the recent mango flavors I've gotten, mango and tango and MB island mango (I think that is what it is called) would be great replacements in this recipe.
Been mixing for a few months now and decided to finally order these concentrates and see why this was one of the highest rated recipes on ELR. And let me tell you, this recipe did NOT disappoint! Ran out of juice so had to vape this in 1 day from mixing and it was delicious, also not even a hint of harshness. This has jumped to number 1 on my ADV. Thank you Jennifer Jarvis for sharing and all you do for DIY.
I'm vaping now since 9 months and this is one of the best. Sweetened
as follow and it's suit my taste:
- Cotton Candy (10% EM/Ethyl Maltol) (TPA) 0.5% -> Cotton Candy (Circus) (TPA) 1%
- Sweetener (Sucralose/Maltol) (TPA) 3% -> Sweetness (Flavorah) 0.75%
Thanks 5*
Great recipe. I recommend not adding sucralose though or perhaps using another sweetner substitute that doesn't gunk up the coils; especially for sub-ohm vaping. I have to clean my coils after only a tank or two when sub-ohm vaping with this recipe.
@MintyMix - The Mango is not the main flavor, the melons are, but you could reasonably sub mango for peach if you wanted. Whichever peach you might like best. The mango has a peach like quality to it that I think peach would sub nicely for. A white peach would be my suggestion, FA or VT or FLV Peach Rings if you wanted more of a candy feel in it.
I am new to the DIY community. I just made this and it's absolutely fantastic straight after shaking. Thank you.
I removed the cotton candy from mine, and swapped the sweetener for CAP SS at 2%, also I added 2% WS-23. Going to try add some bubblegum to it a bit later.
@JamonEIRO -- Not a lot, but Honeydew 2 is actually a little less harsh than the original. Up in the comments here others have used it and the recipe turns out very similar just a little less harsh. To me they both taste like bubblegum, lol, so they seem close enough to use either one.
Hi @Fll1225 Yes you can. Though I would suggest replacing it with a whipped cream, sweet cream, or another brand's cotton candy. Though a 4 year old bottle of TFA cotton candy won't likely be too bad, I was still using mine at 5 years old. But if it smells like nothing or funky I wouldn't use it. The EM is really just to smooth out the rough edges of the melons, since the percentages are fairly high. Another odd sub that can work in place of EM is like 0.5% of CAP sugar cookie. IT will fade in like a week or two, and it adds a softness to the overall recipe. 1% CAP meringue could also be an interesting sub.
Thank you! I went for it even with the 4 year old bottle. Like xou said, it didnt seem like it was bad or smell funny at all. Very good recipe! I did max VG anc theres plenty if flavor, really smooth, and alost tastes a little like melon bubble gum. I never had the original cuttwood juice. Thanks for sharing! Gonna try another one of your recipes!

@Moggly, You can always adjust percentages to suit your tastes. This is crafted to be similar to the original commercial e-liquid, but for some folks even commercial liquids don't have enough flavor. It's DIY baby, you control the outcomes. So if you want to bump it up, I personally would start at 0.5% and add more after a day or two of a steep. For some folks it needs a steep, so if you are vaping it fresh the flavor may be diminished, before upping the percentages give it 3 weeks steep time. If you want to only vape it fresh, then upping the percentages until it's right for you, that is perfectly fine too. It may become muddled though after a steep, so it's just a matter of experimenting for your own taste perception.
@ymfact - You can adjust certain flavors to suit your taste. As I've said in previous comments, take the recipe as inspiration, adjust to your own preferences, sub flavors out, make it your own. I love seeing what folks do with the recipe as the starting point. My hubby hates the papaya flavor, so for him this recipe is far better without any papaya. It's not an issue to take it out, reduce it by half or cut it all the way down to 0.5% if you wanted to have just a touch of it.
After the full 6 week steep the papaya does tone down significantly. Unless you're really sensitive to papaya as a flavor note, then you'll probably still taste it. If you want a sweeter papaya note, sub the TFA Papaya with FLV Papaya Punch at like 1%.
I am not founding cantaloupe Tpa. Is flavor west a good replacement or Flavour art. It is a very good recipe I use to vape it last year thank you for sharing
@Rabih, you could use FA or FLV cantaloupe for a more realistic type of cantaloupe flavor. FW will maintain more of that candy-like flavor that TPA has. FW also is a tad harsher than TPA so that is also something to keep in mind. There may be other cantaloupe options from MB or VTA or WF as well. Another option is also OOO's gummy candy melon flavor, it's pretty tasty and could be used in this as a variation on the recipe.
taste lovely after only 1 week steeping, but i have big issue, when i vape it for 10 min turns extremely dark in tank, changed coil still same in other mods, by experience sweeter make this happen but any way to avoid ?
I'm not really sure on the darkness of it or the cause. I don't actually vape this recipe, I don't like the melon flavors or the sweetener. It was just a clone of the original eliquid. But, that being said, nicotine and vg quality can both impact the color of the finished liquid. Some vg can turn different colors, some more pink, others more orange or brownish, and I've even had one that turned a bluish color, which was weird. The more nicotine you add the darker orangey-reddish brown the liquid will steep out to. The older the nicotine the darker it will be and so will the resulting eliquid. In a tank as it is vaping if there is gunk build up on the coil and on the interior of the tank the liquid will turn dark brown (my husband's eliquid is usually like this by the end of the week.) Sweetener and EM heavy flavors can cause more gunking than unsweetened light colored flavors. I would suggest checking out my other alternative versions of this recipe for cleaner vaping liquid. I personally use other versions because I like more realistic melon and no sweeteners, with instead a touch of vanilla or almond to sweeten or something like FA candy wizard to make it more candy like.
I just bought the whole flavor on the list. This is my first recipe i made DIY, but instead of nic i used saltnic bcs i dont like TH. Vaped immediately and it tastes okay. Papaya seems too strong tho, I was hoping for mainly Melon flavor. Maybe the original Mega Melon is like this? I've never tried it before..
@Indonesian DIY -- Let it steep for a couple of weeks and then try it again. You may find the papaya fades as it steeps. The nicsalt shouldn't have a massive impact on the flavor profile. If you found the papaya too strong when freshly mixed, lower the percentage to like 1.5% and that should drop it back when fresh mixed behind the melon. This is a clone so it does taste like the original once it is steeped for 3 weeks or longer. Some folks find 6 weeks steep is even better. But since this is DIY, once you try the recipe and you find things you aren't too crazy about, you can mix the next one differently and adapt it to your own tastes. There may even be a papaya flavor that you can get locally that would work better, heck you could replace papaya with guanabana or cherimoya flavor and it would be yummy. Some folks just don't like TFA papaya, my hubby is one of them, he hates it and he can taste it even when it's a low percentage. But he doesn't mind FLV's Papaya Punch, because it's sweeter and doesn't have that weird earthy note. Not everyone can taste the earthy note and not everyone hates it. So this is why we DIY, we adjust it to our own preferences.
I had no papaya or TPA honeydew, so i subbed with Capella Honeydew and TFA Peach for something different and also used CAP SS at 2%. Not bad straight up, hoping it steeps well.
@JAMM -- it is in my public recipes -- but here is the link e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/1328173/Mama%20Melons%20V2 You might also be interested my Huge Melons recipes too. They are bit different, but also yummy there are several versions of those as well to try.
Thanks for sharing this recipe, mixed it up today 1% super sweet and it's lovely, bought the flavours especially and I'm not disappointed 250ml steeping , 30ml for the weekend.. I will give you a follow for future recipes .. 5*
Hey there.I was thinking about changing it a bit and add CAP Golden Pineapple (I love pineapples) and FA Arctic Winter Menthol.I want the pineapple and mango to shine through among other flavors. What percentages would you recommend for this kind of mix ? Thanks!
