With the whole Corona virus debacle, all shops are getting short of hand sanitizers. Fortunately this is very easy to make yourself. All you need is a strong alcohol, some hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), some glycerol (VG) and some distilled water.
The World Health Organization has released recipes to make your own hand sanitizer/disinfectant. The original recipes in PDF-format can be found here.
For hand sanitizer to be effective, you should use an alcohol over 60% - In this recipe I will assume you have an alcohol stronger than 85%. The final product will be diluted to contain 80% alcohol for ethanol/ethyl acohol and 75% for isopropyl alcohol.
The recipe in the PDF calls for 1.45% glycerol (VG). However, research has suggested that lowering this to 0.5% is better, especially in warmer climates. I will let you judge for yourself - and of course let you choose either here.
Do NOT use alcohol that contains methanol, as it can have adverse effects on the body! I suggest using 99% isopropyl alcohol.
Soap and water is more effective, but when you are on the move, a bottle of hand sanitizer is very useful!
Shake the resulting mix and let it sit for 72 hours to allow any spores or bacteria in the bottle to be destroyed.

PS. As far as I can tell, EuroDenatured ethanol should be safe to use. If I am wrong, please mail me!
