@SwampKittens I am very serious if you don't have them you can always try the V1 I have but at the same time if I find something that works better like I did in this scenario I will add it in and if that benefits the mix I will post a V2 which I did here. Should we limit our creativity cause it may use more than one of the same flavor? I don't think so
I am sure the original probably doesn't have Flavorah in it whats your point this recipe is a remix aimed at being the way I would like the Jam on toast profile. The original IMO the strawberries where lacking so I wanted to make them better. I also made a video talking all about it. I think you are getting too hung up on 1 to 1 mixes chances are you will never find a clone that is exact you may find one that tastes close to the original but the second you vape them side by side it'll taste off and there is also the chance the eliquid company is using proprietary aromas which DIYERS can't even get there hands on.But again I didn't want to just clone Jam Monster I wanted to make it better and that's why I remixed it (That and store bought juice in general really just sucks as of late compared to my mixes but they are tailored to me so meh)oh one more thing don't believe anything the "vendor" tells you as they are not in business to be giving info on there recipes so changes are they are not going to tell you anything worth a damn. (And companies like to keep costs down especially hype companies so no way they want the over head of Flavorah probably TFA and Flavor West and just maybe Capella......maybe)
Wow that's a lot of flavorings! I mixed this up just to see what you were going for, and I'm not sure of your going off of the old school train of thought trying to get your mixes to 20%, but it seems there's some muting going on here. I lowered some percentages and cleaned this up a bit and got a lot more flavor. Might get better results if you keep your mixes under the 15% range.
@JFMDEVELOPMENT My point is it's a remix but you have the word "Clone" right in the recipe title which would leave one to believe it's... a clone of some sort.
Either way, with 16 flavors, 7 which are strawberry it seems like the flavors are starting to cancel each other out. I appreciate your attempt at sort of cloning/remixing this flavor nonetheless.
I am going back to the drawing board with this one. I sometimes find that the simpler solution is more often the correct one. I shouldn't need 7 Strawberry flavors to accomplish a very simple recipe. I like the toasted marshmallow being used in this recipe to add a little sweetness and perhaps get some of that toasted flavor. That's pretty creative. I think I'll give your V1 version a shot. I am using Purilum Strawberry Biscuit in my version and it's pretty good so far. Might be worth a shot.
@SwapKittens My point with the clone situation is no mater where you see that word clone in DIY its not going to be a replica of the original. Clones in DIY are more of a flavor profile. As for the this recipe I made it with Jam monster in mind but knowing CLONES are BS I made it to how I would enjoy it and that was version 1 and then with V2 I added some strawberry's from Flavorah and one from Capella reason being is v1 was already great thats why I released it but learning more about Capella strawberry taffy and the mouth feel you get from it at lower percentages in conjunction with strawberry filling for a more jammy flavor it all made sense and I am happy I did. But if you want a simpilar way I encourage you to work on your own and try and take some of the knowledge from what has already been done it may get you closer to what you are looking for. I do think however instead of limiting yourself experiment thats how we learn (In response to I dont see why I need 6 strawberries)
And lastly I have had this steeping for almost 2 weeks and it is delicious and there is no signs of the flavors canceling themselves out rather strawberry heaven so I am unsure of what you are getting at I think they work together rather nice. But all in all I would love to see where you are at with Jam Monster when you come up with something.
@MrColdOne I happen to really enjoy this mix and think it is fine just the way it is but that is what is good about ELR you can work off it if your subjective pallet likes it another way that suits you more. Also the old way of thinking lmao its great if 15% mixes work for you but there is no rule anywhere that limits you on flavor percentage that can vary so much from person to person and flavor company to flavor company and flavor to flavor...................Don't cap your creativity by limiting flavors or percentages that should be the last thing on your mind when creating something new rather what flavors can you add to support another to make it even better at getting the profile your going after. cause with that logic and your creating a recipe and your using a weak tfa flavor all of a sudden your at 15% and you havent even got your profile nailed down should you be like nope cant add anymore lol The answer is no and more importantly the percentage of flavor in a recipe is going to be just as subjective and how sensitive someones pallet etc etc
@jfmdevelopment I get what your saying if say your using TFA peanut butter and Cap sugar cookie together your gonna need to bump them up. Don't mean to sound like a jerk or anything, I was just giving you some constructive criticism. I see your putting out a lot of content so thanks for taking the time to put it out there! I just know about three years ago everyone thought that the magical number for mixing percentages was 20%. So just wasn't sure if you were still working off that. That's all. And I did like where you were going with this mix, but as I said when I consolidated some flavors and percentages I got much more flavor. And it's anytime I go high (like this) I notice that the flavors just start to mute each other.
What's up JFM I know I'm chiming in a bit late but I've come up with several mixes from 18% to 21% and some of the higher ones are my favorite mixes I also have really good mixes at 8% to 10% so I agree with JFM
was looking for a jam monster recipe. this one might be amazing - but I'll never know. I don't do 16 flavor recipes. I tried a couple of mega flavors mixes when I first started making juice. nowadays I max out at about 8 (and most recipes at 5 or less) if it's something that looks really good.
