This is my first EXCELLENT recipe. The RY4 Double has a very light vanilla, caramel, tobacco blend that is perfect. The Vanilla Swirl is an amazing custard that reminds me of homemade vanilla ice cream. The sweet cream is a sweet custards addition that adds a slight "milky" flavor. This is not a candy sweet but a desert sweet. The sweetness isn't over bearing. The smell is amazing and fills the room. This has become one of my favorites!
After mixing: spun the flavor with a frother for about 1 minute. Placed in very warm water for 20 min two times. Leave the cap off while it sits in warm water to get the strong perfume out.
Had my local shop whip this up for me till my next batch of flavors come in, very nice adv. Quite surprised at the complexity of the flavor given its basically a straight vanilla. Had a shot of sweet pineapple added to a bottle, un-freakin-believable! definitely give that a try if you get the chance. Nice job on the recipe sir!
I like this! And in my opinion it is just BEGGING for some type of chocolate. I will work on that aspect and if it's good I'll post the recipe and credit your blend. Thanks for the share.
I ended up holding off until I got Vanilla Swirl in. Have 50ml in the steep drawer, can't wait to try it. yiana, if it tastes good with custard let us know!
A nice (but not excellent) vape. The RY4 double flavour recedes after a few days and the milky/creamy notes come through. Not really an ADV for me, as I think it needs a few other flavour notes to impress...
I just made a batch of this today after waiting for the flavors and it is damn good. The funny thing is that I have been driving myself crazy trying to figure out an RY4 recipe from my local shop and this is really close. I will be adding this to my rotation for sure. Thanks for a great vape.
I tried this recipe in February thinking it might be okay... but I didn't expect to love it as much as I do. It quickly became my primary vape. I make it 12mg/ml, 65VG/35PG with the same flavor percentages. Steeped at least a month is best. I keep four 120ml bottles of this steeping in rotation now. And I love how it never dirties up my coils or wicks. I just keep the same RDA of this going and going and going... Thanks for this @James!
This was one of my first DIYs and I just discovered a dusty 50ml bottle hiding in the back of my steep drawer. Really good after several months of steeping. Typically RY4D kills my throat but it's not terrible in this, probably because of all the cream. Very yummy, but I still get a little tickle. I'm going to try this with FA's RY4 and see where that gets me. Thanks for the great recipe!
I've had trouble liking RY4 types, but this is good. TPA Sweet cream is a bit high so it takes a lot of time to diminish the soapiness, but after that it's quite nice. I will take this to field testing, ie. fill up a tank the next time I'm going out for a beer.
Very good mix. Been looking for a good diy RY-4 for ages. Still looking for that Janty Classic nutty undertone....I added 2% Lorran Oils Pecan, adds more body and brings the sweet cream down a bit, which isn't a bad thing.
TYVM this has instantly became one of my ADV. The cleanest juice I have tried, cotton looks fresh for days ( after it stays overnight in RDA, color turns nearly red but that clears away quickly). Though I must admit I practically don't taste any flavor in this juice. But that is fine since it is so hard for me to find liquid that I am ok with. Can't stand so many things, strawberry flavors, most of the fruity stuff, etc. This one actually performs a vital role, it helps me to avoid becoming quickly annoyed by my other ADV DIY juices.
Just mixed up 6x65mls of this stuff. Had to return to comments section to give a shout out to the creator. Super tasty right away been 24 hours really still tastes amazing. So simple. So good. Will be making this again for sure.
Would four weeks of steeping do it? I newer tried any warm bathor something. And for how long do I leave the cap off to get rid of perfume/chemical taste?
I'm quite new to DIY and this is the best recipe so far. No breathing or frother for me, because I use a higher nic level and I really don't like spicy nicotine (I learned this the hard/harsh way) ;-) I learned that when it comes to steeping; patience is the best way to go! And this recipe is fantastic after 2 weeks, I even finally get the caramel note :D And I also really like that this is a fairly simple recipe (easy % and only a few ingredients) I hope I can find more recipes like this here. And the description from the creator is really accurate. Thank you for sharing!
Nicely balanced, good job on the anount of RY4 Double, it's just where it's supposed to be. I might add some INW Shisha Vanilla to it in the future. Finally a satisfying custard vape that isn't based on the VC v1.
awesome light creamy tobacco vape!
I also think this would be a good base flavor for adding other tobacco notes.
I think im going to try to add a little Inawera cavendish and steep it with a charred oak chip in the bottle for a month or so.
Just mixed this recipe up in a 30 ml letting it steep for a while. I'll report back when I try it. Figures since I saw so many positive comments id give it a whirl. My fear at the moment is that the sweet cream might ruin it......but the positive comments tell me otherwise.
I just tried this again after it steeped for about a week. AMAZING!
Best recipe Ive tried on here. It really comes together as a great smooth, creamy, sweet vanilla vape with a tiny hint of carmel and tobacco from the ry4d. At first its good as a shake and vape but has that unmatured ry4 off taste. After a week....wow!
yoonsetan.... Its perfectly sweet for me as is.
I may make another version with a small amount of western tobacco for a little extra bacco taste but this is 5 star all the way!
Was good as a shake and vape, I only made a small 10Ml batch at first since im not a tobacco guy. Well i did smoke but i never liked the idea of tobacco flavored juice. I only had the ry4 double from the 12 pack.
This reminds me of a black and mild. good flavor all around. ill definitely be saving this one
You got to try it after a week or two steep... the ry4 really needs a little time to develop the carmel notes.
I noticed the similarity between this and HV vanilla sky which uses the same flavors but adds a chocolate, coconut, and a small bit of western..... so i had 240ml of this made up and decided to add only 16 drops of western.... changed the whole flavor profile. Its good but I should of left it alone. Now i got 4 60ml bottles of it and wished I would of stuck to original recipe lol.
Very good vape. I've never cared much for RY4 but I was getting a bit tired of Strawberry recipes. This reminds me of that creme brulee flavor that comes with the Juul cig-a-like. Mine steeped for about 2 1/2 months. Thank you for sharing this.
I've just done shaked and vape .... i replaced sweet cream (TPA) with Sweet Cream (CAP)... its very nice deep vape, however, I felt its a bit sweeter than it should. not sure if its because Sweet Cream (CAP) or maybe i should leave it to steep for a week.
I've been vaping this for a year. I like vanilla custard with it instead of vanilla swirl, but this is what I vape 80% of the time. It is my favorite. Thank you again for such a great recipe.
I made this up 12/27. I'm 18 days into a steep. The flavor is really good, although I have to agree with Shaun that it is a bit muted at this point. I'm guessing maybe after more than a month this juice will pop. All in all it's pretty good. Thanks for sharing.
I made this at 12mg 60pg/40vg. It is delicious after just a 3 hour steep. Not too sweet and very moreish. I imagine I shall make a lot more even if if it doesn't get any better than it is now! Thanks!
Hello and thank you very much for the recipe i have not tried it yet but can i ask if the vanilla swirl can be substituted with TFA Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla or FA TFA Bourbon Vanilla. Thanks
I mixed up 20ml of this two months ago. I tasted it a couple of times and forgot about it. This morning I thought I wanted to vape a tobacco flavor all day, which I haven't done in 3 months. I pulled this out and it smelled great. At first, I was a bit put off by the "tobacco" flavor, but kept at it. It's 8 hours later and this juice is just fantastic. The flavoring is layered, mouth feel is full and smooth, and it's just a bit sweet. It's like a natural sweet, not one forced into a recipe.
@Geb I haven't really tried the original. I just used VCv2 (cap) cos I don't have VS and it's good. Not sure how it compares to the original recipe tho.
Rated 5 stars. Would have rated 4 until I came back to see what's in it again: "wait, what, this is THREE ingredients??"
I think that makes a big difference and I'll add extra stars for any Zen Chef who comes up with something as pleasant as this that has a recipe that reads like a haiku.
Coming to think of it, the fact that it's not "brim full" likely adds to the ADV effect I've had with this; sure, it could be richer and/or more specific (non-native EN here so bear with me please), but as with heavily compressed music, richness can quickly become tiresome, and that's when I normally want to switch back to something with a little more headroom like this.
If I had to choose ONE recipe for the rest of my life, this would be it.
Everything I love is in this recipe, sweetness, tobacco bitterness, a little cream and vanilla with caramel.
Thank you!
Wow. Thank you for all of the comments. I don't really monitor this account. This is still one of my main "Go To" recipes. I have pretty much mastered several "And Cream" recipes, such as Peaches, Blueberry, Strawberry, etc. I have done some side projects that were terrible (anything to do with doughnuts). Anyway - Thanks for the comments and the kind words :) I may check back again in another year. hahahaha.
@James please check your post quite often so that you will know how many of us really like and appropriate your work. Thanks again. Could you please share your some of the other recipes please. Thanks
This goes to show that a great recipe doesn't have to have 8 different flavors in it to shine. I've been working all kinds of RY4 Double recipes and haven't tried the sweet cream yet in one until this one here. It works really well. Thanks man.
@YEK1 - I made this juice a few weeks ago and subbed CAP VC v1 for the VS. I like it better with VC (I even upped it to 6%). VS is close in flavor to VC.
Please help i dont have the vanilla swirl flavour but i have the vanilla bean ice cream.... Are you agree with that or must buy your recipe flavour??? Thanks for your help!
The name threw me off but when I saw it was mostly RY4 double I had to mix up 100ml. Off it goes into the steeping cupboard. I'll leave it for 2-3 weeks because I'm a patient guy. I'll report back if I remember. ;)
Just loaded up the tank with this so it's been steeping for 18 days. Nice RY4 mix but it's not a custard to me, why did you call it custard? :)
It's kinda up there with the RY4 I thick you could get away with 5 or 6% RY4 Double. That being said, it is a very satisfying RY4 mix and great for those who link a good RY4 and/or a nice tobacco edge.
Anyway, as I mixed up 100ml I'm thinking of splitting some down into 20ml bottles and adding 1 - 2% of FA Coconut among some other variations.
Just read through your notes. Apologies, I didn't heat it or leave the cape off so that might explain why I didn't get any custard notes lol ;).
Ah well, I mixed it as it was an RY4 mix and I like playing with RY4 mixes. With 2% FA Cocount and 2% Cap Sugar Cookie added in it's rather nice. I also cut it with about 20ml VG so it bought down the overall initial percentages a touch.
I might get around to mixing up another 100ml batch at a later date and will remember to follow the heating and cap off instructions.I'll report back if I do.
This is a great recipe but, it's not a custard. Vanilla Swirl is definitely not custard.... Regardless, it's a great recipe. An ADV for me. Thanks for sharing.
Just mixed this up an hour ago, in a hurry to get out the door. Let it breathe in a hot bath for 15 minutes and it´s friggin´ great already. Thanks! This will only get better with time, I´m sure.
I just mixed small batch of 10ml, shake it for 1 minute then let it sit on my USC with csp off for 5 minutes, rest for 2 minutes, and ready to fave, lovinl it
wow... sometimes the best recipes have the fewest flavors lol... It just takes someone else to think of it. I see a lot of people asking about switching flavors... One thing that I have found out the hard way... when you are doing a recipe that has only a few flavors... those flavors make the recipe and switching them creates something different. Most of the time, even the brand make a huge difference.. they often have a different flavor profile. Not saying that if you switch it will nott be good, but it will not be the same recipe. IMO vanilla swirl is not the same as vanilla custard, I love them both but in this recipe... I think the vanilla swirl is important. Anyway... this is a great recipe!!! How long did you steep??? I have a hard time waiting... I just tried mine and only steeped about 7 or 8 days.. I know it will get better if I wait longer... but it smelled so good lol
Hi my friend !!! can i ask you something?? If I use 50-50 bases, could I reduce the overall percentage by 50% or there is no reason to do that ?? will significantly reduce taste?
this juice is awesome dude! I made an adaption of your recipe a little bit ago and decided to post it today, would love your thoughts. I'm a flavor junkie so I added a little bit of toasted marshmallow and caramel to the mix, and made the percent of vanilla swirl 6 and sweet cream 2.
Do any of these flavorings contain Ethyl Alcohol? Why the breath? Just asking because I've seen that it's a total misconception and trend in the DIY world (entire vaping world for that matter) that all juices need to "breath". You're just losing flavor by letting it breath among it equivalent to using a less % of flavorings ...unless of course the recipe contains a decent amount of alcohol from the flavorings. I was at a vape shop 2-3 years ago where they had open bottles sitting on a bar stool and a fan pointed at them. I asked: "what's with the fans aimed at the open juice"? They told me that everyone says it helps steep the juice and they just got those juices in so they wanna steep them since those bottles are gonna be samplers for their customers. I suppose everyone's entitled to thinking they know what they're doing or talking about but I figured I'd ask and bring this up so that you don't miss out on your recipes full potential. I'm actually mixing it myself to try right now. Once in done, I'll use my drill rig to shake it up and into my steeping closet it'll go for a at least a week. Thanks for sharing...looks like it's gonna be spot on 👍
@gorman i steep the juice i buy or make for at least 2 months
some i let it steep for longer than that
once i buy a juice from budget e juice maker and when i got it it was 2 weeks old because they print the day of birth on the bottle and it was very bad so i just left there and after 6 or 7 months i see the bottle and i thought let me tray it and wow its a different story the same day i re-order 6 bottles
I just wanted to point out that Vanilla Swirl is actually vanilla without the custard note, that's why this juice is awesome. Custard would probably take the mix elsewhere.
Ok James... This stuff is FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just started DIYing juice about 2 months ago. I've made many many tobacco's probably too many. This one is the best absolutely without a doubt! I LOVE YOU man! I'm going to go ahead and call you a genius! Thanks sooooo much for this man.
Absolutely amazing one! Thanks for sharing. Just made this exactly as the recipe. Mixture has grown orange color in 3 days, and flavors really blend together after 15 days imo. Made a fresh cotton to taste it, really awesome stuff. I'll probably make this with higher PG next time but I'll definitely make another batch.
Delicious!!! Made this last night and added .30 FA Latakia! Also added a few drops TFA sweetner. Did not use a frother or the warm bath. Just a really good shake and left cap off for 20 min. Was good off shake and even better this morning with coffee. Will be making more and playing around with some more adaptations. Thanks for sharing!!!
Recommends five weeks of stepping and it is much better. I will also try to add something more to it. Otherwise, it is very good as it is. But definitely not as an shaking and Vape.
Just got my 1st batch of DIY supplies today, and this was the highest rated DIY on here with the supplies I have...so this is my very 1st batch of ANYTHING...
I followed the directions as best I could(the Adapt Tool is AWESOME), and it's FANTASTIC already, I can only imagine what it will taste like after a few weeks.
Thanks James!
tasted weirdly great after a couple of days, i've let it steep for two weeks and it just isn't for me, the taste completely changed. it just tastes like a weird ry4, i might try this in a mtl device, definetly not for an rta device.
The last time i've made 4 Liters of this liquid, now, 8 months ago, im still vaping from that 4L, and with that time......... gets better. Is an excellent ADV.
Hi James! Thank you very much for this amazing recipe! In the day after it tastes awesome! But.. I would like to add a little bit more tobacco. Do you recommend any specific flavor?
don't have any vanilla swirl (TFA) but i do have catalan cream or vanilla custard v2 (CAP) any recommendations on what to sub with vanilla swirl? and i also have sweet cream by FW not TFA thanks in advance!!
my first mix 4 month ago (steep it since than). i didn't vape till last week. i started with vaping it in DL but it wasnt so good... then i tried it with MTL, and it's just PERFECT! thank you.
5 stars absolutely!! Great tobacco mix. Much better for my taste than the highest rated Goofy's and on-pair with absolutely delighted RY4 Delight. Changed the VG ratio to 60/40 to get closer to the taste. Will publish my adaptation with 1% of RY4 Hangsen...
Big thanks again to James for sharing. The above is my adaptation, a bit different using RY4 by Hangsen and substituting partly cream with custard. I would't say it is better than the original but slightly "heavier" and stronger. Worth trying.
Been vaping this for awhile now but only in RDA or sub ohm tank. I find it sucks for MTL and tastes awful but DTL its amazing. Weird. Most people on here are saying the other way around. Maybe I'll have to try it in MTL again.
@MTL sLOVEnia I use my berserker or Siren 2 RTA's at home or Caliburns when I'm out and about. I just find this recipe almost makes me nauseous when I MTL it, like the flavor is too dense or something but I absolutely love it when in my direct lung dripper, makes no sense lol. My favorite MTL recipe at the moment is 10% Soho 3% Meringue. Try that one if you haven't yet.
@jbitts
Interesting, out of my mtl-s the 2xSiren tanks and the Caliburn were my preference for quite some time. Caliburn just broke down (doesn't re-charge anymore) while Sirens are waiting in the drawer for better times - due to my favourite mtl of all times: Nautilus 2 with premade 0.7 mesh coils, which I use more in very restrictive DTL mode.
And, Custard King plays perfectly for such restricted dtl use. The real mtl use I should try it with my Siren and will do so to test your bad experience.
Berserker mini was on my list but being already occupied by several others like the Kayfun 5 (clone), Expromizer 4 and Fresia I decided to stay with my ever preferred Nautilus 2.
Even more strange, I see from your "OhoSsOhO" that we're both using 70/30 and 5-6mg/ml. So this should not have impact. Well, for my nic I am using - nic salt by ZAP as the regular nic is causeing. I find it enhancing the tobacco flavours a bit.
Anyways when started to vape I was only using mtl but within 2 years I switched almost completely to dtl (restrictive options like with the Aegis Boost). I think MTL simply doesn't suffice my instant need for nic. Even in a pod with 15mg ! You need to pull mtl hard while 3-4 easy puffs on my Boost/Drop Solo rda/Hadaly rda satisfy me almost instantly. (have you tried Hadaly ? I need try the Custard King in it - today)
Will go and mix your interesting combo Soho + Meringue !! Soho is one of my favourite flavors. I suppose I'll be trying to add RY-4 double which is my all time best flavor.
To add, the majority of my DIY efforts were aimed to get even close to the best e-liquid I've ever tried: the Nasty Silver tobacco. Well, cannot replicate that, not even close. I have had some support even from expert members of this forum letting them to try to crack the formula, but poor success. RY-4, caramel and vanilla are the basic ingredients but trying very hard with all possible combos - none of them realy worked. The original Nasty Silver remains a big secret to me.... it is much smoother than the Custard King and bring an extra note in its flavor that nobody can define...
@MTL sLovenia Wow I actually own a Drop Solo and Hadaly RDA lol, the only 2 I have, then I have my Siren 2, Berserker, Caliburn, Nautilus GT tank and Veco Solo tank. I've been trying to clone my all time favorite tobacco as well called Gold Seal Fresh Tobacco and have bought almost every tobacco flavoring under the sun but nothing comes close, then I stumbled upon that OhoSsOhO recipe on here and haven't looked back, which is amazing cause the Gold Seal Fresh Tobacco was my ADV for over 5 years. I make my MTL recipes 12mg 50/50 and my DTL 70/30 at 4mg. I order all my nic and supplies from DashVapes in Canada. I will check out those Capone recipes thank you but make sure you make it exactly 10% Soho 3% FA Meringue. I have made it with RY-4 double as well but I prefer the original. tjek.nu/r/AACE
I have a few batches of this Custard King steeping right now, one is 70/30 4mg for my Hadaly and Drop Solo, then I made a 30ml 50/50 12mg to try in my MTL tanks again. Will report back with my thoughts when they are ready, take care.
@jbitts
Amazing not that we share taste for e-liquids but even several devices. Let's rather move to pm.
Just a question re. your OohSsoho... Steeping how long? I made a 20 ml batch yesterday, smells interestingly, maybe a bit harsh? The only Meringue in my stash is TPA's which seems to be on lighter side than FA. So I used a bit more of it: 3,5%.
It seems you're from Canada, Dash vapes I like to follow on YT but never tried their selling site. Getting ready to lift Vic's Siren 2 from the dust. Will report. King Custard just sitting in my wife's MTL (Innokin Endura) and she's happy with it also. But I'd say it does shine more in dtl. Well, I must say all my diy juices are VG 70/30 I am not using higher PG than 30 due to my PG sensitivity. Having said that it might be the cause of my slow switching from mtl to dtl. Vaping's all about flavour to me. While vaping 50/50 I was pleased with 1.8 Ohm mtl coils in Nautilus 2 or some small builds in my Siren 2. Moving lower with PG I was lacking the flavour which I found improved with seveeal dtl devices I mentioned. One of them, not to forget, amazing Freemax Mesh Pro but stiil too airy for me. I only take few hits at home cause it is really clouding the place. But the flavour is so true, so exacts as if you were drinking your juice. Still, I can't take more than a few hits daily because it rapidly increases my PG sensitivity due to high vapour intake.
Finally if you have not tried Nasty Silver - it is a must. With so similar taste buds to mine you will love it. It is far top liquid out of all I ve tried. Nothing comes even close. Smooth, flavourful, just perfect. Find a bottle. I think it's been claimed best liquid in UK a few years ago.
@MTL sLOVEnia is there a way to pm on here? I'm fairy new to this website. Yeah the OohSsoho just won't be the same without the FlavorArt Meringue, the differences are huge imo. I usually only steep it a week or two cause I run out so fast but I made a few extra bottles this time to test how well it really ages after a month or longer. I have also SNV but all you can really taste is the meringue, takes time for the Soho to come to life and blend perfectly. I will see if a Canadian vendor carries your Nasty Silver for sure.
@jbitts
So, sent you a pm. Click on my nickname and then profile and you should find "test" message.
Also checked about Nasty Silver availability with Dash vapes. No stock. But, Sagavape has it on stock for 25CAD.
Shame, wanted to order some flavours from Dash but the shipping to Europe is almost 50CAD (cheapest way-no way😞) Besides min. bottle q-ty is 30 mls. I am used to 10ml and was ordering much from Nicotineriver, US. Until they raised shipping to 150 US$. As if somebody's trying to destroy export sales...
I've been vaping this for a while now and really enjoy it after meals or with certain beers. I much prefer simpler tobacco recipes like this. I vape MTL exclusively and mix it at 50/50 with a 13.5% total flavoring. I almost always drop the total flavoring when mixing 70VG recipes to 50VG because PG is the flavor carrier and I find it works best. Anyways thanks for a really good tobacco/dessert recipe.
Thank you! Five stars. I’ve been searching for a flavorful tobacco that wasn’t more than a handful of ingredients. I see this as my ADV. I followed your steeping directions so I could enjoy asap.
Loved it. I don't have vanilla swirl, just subbed with vanilla bean ice cream and... wow. It's great, thank u so much for this recipe. Steeping time: 24 days
For those wondering: never did with vanilla swirl, but i'm 100% satisfied with the vanilla bean result.
James what an amazing recipe, and I added about 10 drops of fuji Apple in one 10mil bottle then made another with inw pineapple in it and oh Lord what a difference IMO but the base recipe is definitely my go to adv, Thanks and keep up the great work, mix on my friend.
