Notes
I read someone else's recipe once that added the apple pie and deleted the custard. They said they felt there was no custard in it because it never got dark. Made sense to me. I had tried so many variations of DIY DLLT and none hit the mark until this one. It is the apple pie that gives it that crunchy crust taste. You do not taste the apple. Hope you like it as much as I do. Friends tell me it is better than the OG.
I do not use sweetener in mine. I detest the use of too much sweetener and I think this is fine without it. For those that use sweetener use what you want but try it first with none :)

This is it, for me this is the best dinner lady clone out there. Theres definitely no custard or cream in the original because I hate the taste of all creams and custards but love Dinner Lady lemon tart.
Thank you very much, u have saved me alot of money. 10/10

thanks Karl. I had more reviews but some how it got moved to private and I had to repost it. Glad you like it. I vape it constantly and every once in awhile buy the OG and like this just as much.

Thanks for sharing Sue. Sorry if this has been asked before, but any particular sweetener?
#4 by Sue Pom, Feb 15. 2018, 02:19
I do not use sweetener in almost anything. If I do I use Stevia from Trader Joes's. I do not put any at all in this and I do not think it needs it.

Sorry Sirocco. I should have notated that.

Thanks very much for the reply Sue. Looking forward to whipping some of this up this weekend.

Just mixed this up, unsweetened, plus tester with sweetener. I also shot out and purchased some OG just because I'd never tried it. Straight off the stirrer and it's very close, not only that, but a beautiful juice in its own right. Thanks for this one Sue 👍

Forgot to say, I agree with you, for me, perfectly sweet enough without the stevia.

Saw this recipe from the link from the original. Haven't actually tried the original yet but after a few weeks steep this is amazing. Great Job

Thank you for the recipe. Smells identical after a few days steeping. How long would you recommend for best steeping? Thanks again.

I steep everything at least two weeks. I do not believe the flavorings can break down into the VG without at least two week. Unless you are using a stirring tool. This recipe takes less than most. Please rate it.

Thank you for your reply, Sue. I have some a few days into the steep and will let you know how I get on and rate the juice in a few weeks time. I’m sure it will be delicious as it smells the same as the OG even now. ( cheated and tried a bit, but it needs time to steep ).

Back with my review..... this really is spot on for me!!! Just made up 100ml to steep. Thanks for sharing, Sue.

hi, im a newbee and im trying to make this but here in malta is very hard to find all juices, the most i found was TPA, CAP,, some FA and some FlavourTec. if i do same ingerdients but different brand, it will be the same or it will be different?
i dont use nicotine.

To make it fast steep i like to use the ultrasonic cleaner and to shake it with the jigsaw (a carpenter tool) its better fast steep or normal steep?

* the ones i found who send to malta was from ebay or aliexpress so... i dont trust them (different brands from china)

If you can get CAP, TFA and FA you can get most of what you need. I do think it would be good if you left out the FW Lemon Merinque Pie but make sure to double the CAP

thanks sue
applepie i have the tpa
lemon sicily i have cap
sweetner tpa
i need lemon meringue and meringue
if i find cap or tpa it will be the same?
because as i said its hard to find here because not all flavors you will find here

I am not a true DIY'er as I do not know how to mix, match or what flavors are good replica's. I do know that the CAP Lemon Meringue Pie and the FA Apple Pie are pretty crucial. The FA Apple Pie gives it that crunchy crust taste. I am not sure if other subs would do that.

thanks!! i will try with what i find and then i see... 2 options or it will be crap or it will be heaven :))
#20 by Sue Pom, Jan 5. 2019, 23:31
do you know anyone else that can tell you more about substitutions? Maybe someone else will chime in. Good Luck and I hope it is option 2

This is ace after a steep. Very tasty indeed. That Apple Pie works a treat. Great job.

Great mix, well done Sue Pom! The original does seem to have a stronger pastry smell to me though. I may try upping the Apple Pie. Thanks for the recipe.

Great Flavor! i tought about the apple long time, finelly got it, and made this mix, straigth of the batch good flavor, but apple is dominate, 6 days steep, very very good taste, i miss some pastry taste, and tought about Inw biscotto perhaps to add, just a tad, much love!
