There is definitely blackberry and also pineapple like acidic hit to it (ingredient list has Ethyl butyrate) and vanilla and cream, maybe a raspberry vanilla ice cream.
There may also be some marshmallow into it, I always take jelly tots hit from the original, but I didn't specifically try mixing myself. If I find the ingredients and try, I'll let you know.
I have used this recipe, replaced the maltol with Pineapple and Blackberry (1.5% of each)
It is now steeping.
The odor is very similar right now, I can feel it's going to be delicious.
Two days steep has a too strong Pineapple taste, but I'm feeling it's going to tone down in a couple of days
Thanks for commenting and trying. I'm up to v52 after this one I started playing with sherbet and sherbert in stead of the homemade fruit mix. Idk if that's gotten it any closer. I kinda gave up or at least slowed down. The guy I was making it for stopped vaping. But I had to keep going. A challenge is a challenge.
I used TFA,
@buddy hempseed, I think I may know what ingredient is missing but I don't remember the name, I have it laying around somewhere and will try on my next try. The odor is exactly what appears to be missing in this one.
Tasted today after 1 week steep time with ingredients. It is very good but a bit too much pineaple in it. I'll reduce the amount and maybe use some maltol next time.(I try to use as little of it as possible in my recipes.)
Did another clone, removed the pineapple completely, added 2% Malthol, And added 1.5% of another blueberry flavor (I'm not sure of the name yet but it's supposed to be tarty) and 1.5% Blackberry. Now it tastes too much like blueberry, but I'm getting close. The tart flavor needs to me more present.
I have looked everywhere for pictures of bonogurt. here is what I have found from analysing the product images:
Various pictures show the following images along with the product:
This is kind of the problem I fell into. My thought was with that many different fruits it has to be a sherbert type or a mixed fruit. I don't see a commercial ejuice company using a 12-13 flavor recipe but I could be wrong.
I understand, it's starting to get packed.. But I know that 12 monkeys produce very packed flavors with tons of sweetener. The coils on this juice get destroyed so fast.
Might I know why you used the Mango, Lemon and Peach Flavors?
Next batch (Still using your recipe as a base) I'm going to try removing the lemon, switching the flavorah yogurt for creme fraiche, add blackberry, red currant and black currant.
I'm feeling that the red currant and black currant are really what makes this juices sourness/tartness..
Have you tried these yet in any of your versions?
I used the lemon, mango and peach to try and get a citrus like zing I get from it. Probably the tartness type thing. But I don't use them after v35.
Flavorah Greek yogurt is a bit Sharpe. That's there just to help the tart up the other yogurt but is not the right tart. Could be the currents like you said. They're not one I use often or even thought of.
Honestly, it was at this point I got cluster f#$k'd. I mean I've bought 17 different raspberries up to v35 trying to find the right one and I don't even think there's raspberry in it. Then thinking it might be sherbert/sherbet I got 12 of them and every mixed/blended fruit/berry I could find. As a side note I now have a shit ton of flavors.
I like the direction you are going and I'm really grateful to have someone to give fresh eyes to this cloning endeavor.
I totally understand your struggle!
I'm not an actual mixer myself, only started vaping last year, but my local shop make their own recipes and are open to try new recipes I give them and work with me in getting the flavors correct. So there even more than just me trying at it right now! :)
All right, time for an update:
They didn't have red currant flavor but they did have black currant.
We removed the lemon, removed the Flavorah Greek Yogurt.
Added Black Currant, BlackBerry and creme fraiche.
We are getting very close to the tartness, I feel it on my tongue.
The taste is very good now, but I'm not sure what the original one tastes like anymore lol.
Taste wise tho, it is amazing. (steep time was 4 days) I'm thinking that at one week it'll be even better.
My local shop also worked on another version which he gave me, but didn't specify the ingredients. (I have to wait for steeping to let you know about it)
I'm almost 100% positive that the red currant/black currant is where it's at.
Here are the changes I've made:
Removed peach, lemon, mango and sweetener.
Added Cream Fresh, Sweet Cream, Harvest Berry, Super Sweet and Black Currant.
The flavor is amazing right now. Not quite as tart, but definitely on track.
I'm using all the berries flavors and the greek yogurt from v35.
I know that the recipe I'm at right now tastes fantastic so I'm going to stay with this one for a while.
Here's the full recipe I have
Blueberry Wild, TPA 0.6%
Greek Yogurt (TPA) 5%
Blueberry Jam 0.6% (I had forgotten about this one)
Raspberry Sweet (TPA) 0.6%
Harvest Berry 3%
Sweet Cream TPA 1%
Cream Fresh FA 0.5%
Sweet Strawberry (CAP)2%
Super Sweet 1.25%
Black Currant 0.75%
I highly suggest whipping out a batch and letting it steep for a week for an amazing juice :)
Thanks again for the help getting it to here. This tastes phenomenally good and it's so much closer now.
I had to make a second 30ml for steeping as I just chain vaped 15ml in 40 mlns. I'm going to post this as v52 and if it's OK with you I want to post as a collaborations giving you the credit you deserve. Did I mention how good this tastes. I will still experiment a little to see if I can get it even closer. I'll let you know if I figure out any big changes.
I'm glad to know that you enjoyed it that much, I'm definitely going to be going through my batch really fast (I have 30ml steeping right now and can't wait to get back to it.) As this is the first juice I have ever designed to completion, I'm taking the fact that you chain vaped this in 40 minutes as a real compliment. It only makes me want to work on recipes too now and get my own mixing kit.
I was at my local vape shop and had patrons testing it out and everyone was amazed by it.
The 7 days steep time really makes a huge difference, you'll notice a lot more flavors coming out (the blueberries start to really make a big impact at this point) making it a very balanced and complex vape.
Thanks for your help as well, without your base recipe and input it would have been close to impossible to get to this stage.
I'm fine with you posting this no worries, let me know about changes I'd be glad to know about them :)
I'm almost 100% positive that it's missing red currants to get that acid hit, but unfortunately my local vape shop doesn't have that concentrate available so we couldn't try it.
