Mixed it up last night. As a shake & vape it's already good. I must say it's quite close to the real snakeoil. The orange is a bit strong and I'm missing the sweetness atm but will let it steep for a week and see if it's changed. I will let it sit a week and report back.
#2 by bbqkingsNL, Sep 10. 2015, 10:21
After a week or so the anise has come out nicely also adding sweetness. It's my ADV at the moment. Ordered the real thing to compare.
#3 by syncd, Oct 18. 2015, 23:38
This is a fantastic recipe, thank you very much! I've only mixed it yesterday, tested it today and it is very good and very similar to the original. I'm missing a little bit of the sweetness, but that may be because i didn't have pear drops (used EM instead), and it is still not properly steeped, but it has a lot of potential. I agree with you: Mixing Anise, Koolada and Lemon Sicily gets you very close to the original.
Once again, thanks for this.
#4 by Dio, Dec 23. 2015, 12:17
I mix it last night I put it in microwave for 5 secs good shake and overnight steeping.
Now I try on my billow dual twisted 0.4 ohm 35 watts and.....
HOLLY JUICE BRO!!!!!!!
I can't believe what a unique juice is this I don't know the real think but this is amazing. Also I didn't use strawberry.
Many thanks my friend!!!!
#5 by Dio, Dec 23. 2015, 13:22
i just made another one 100ml bottle with strawberry this time to let it steep for a week ...
Thanks again buddy!!!

1st ever recipe ive tried on here, and the original snake juice is my favourite ever juice, if I could bow down and kiss your feet online I would, what an EPIC CLONE of the original juice, I just finished a 50ml of the original last night, so the taste is fresh in my mind, ive just shake 'n vaped it and I would ay its 95% near the original, you sir are a genius. Glad its close as I bought all the flavours especially for this recipe.Wonder how it will taste after a week.

BTW I didnt buy the strawberry but its still fine expensive tasting clonejuice without it IMO.
A+++++++++++++ well down :)
#10 by m4rtian, Mar 2. 2016, 20:19
Just tried this for the first time after an 8 day steep because it finally started to smell like snake oil. This is an amazing juice and easily the best clone of the original I have tried (to be honest it is the first and probably won't bother with any others). Can't wait to try it again when steeping is finished.

u/overachiever is my hero
#11 by mindtrapper, Mar 29. 2016, 23:47
If I have Citrus mix and Lime cold pressed and don't mind being just in the ballpark and not spot on, how would I go about it? Other flavors the same, same percentage for lime and about 3-4% Citrus mix instead of Orange, Mandarin and Lemon?
#12 by overachiever, Mar 29. 2016, 23:54
@mindtrapper, you can sub the lime cold press for lime tahiti distilled. Citrus Mix contains grapefruit which is definitely not in the original snake oil but it'll get you in the ball park - it's much closer using Orange, Mandarin and Lemon though
#13 by Richy25, Mar 30. 2016, 00:48
Is it just me or is this juice better fresh than few week steeped? I don't know but after a few week steep something just falls off and it loses its tang?
#14 by overachiever, Mar 30. 2016, 00:51
@Richy25, yeah FA limes tend to lose their flavours after a few weeks
#15 by Richy25, Mar 30. 2016, 00:57
Acha brother that's rights the limey edge has gone I'll continue to make in smaller batches, thanks for the rapid response ;b
#16 by JohnnyBigodes, May 9. 2016, 15:45
Is this really close to TMAX Snake Oil?? I have all flavours and want to try it, but i am hesitant. Even the same color?
#17 by tomtactix, Jun 22. 2016, 12:56
I just registered to this site to thank you, Overachiever! This recipe is what got me into DIY last week, and I am absolutely hooked.

Made up a 100ml batch last Saturday and after 4 days it already tastes amazing. Me and my dad will now always have our ADV in stock. Thanks again for your hard work man, I really really appreciate it!
#18 by JohnnyBigodes, Jun 22. 2016, 13:00
@tomtactix have you ever tasted the original one? If so, how is this comparable with the original? Thanks in advance
#19 by tomtactix, Jun 22. 2016, 13:31
Johnny, I sure have! Not sure if you are used to the original or the newer high VG version. I always bought the original (60/40 PG/VG) and added some VG base to get it to around 40/60.

To me; this recipe is spot on. And I bet that if you want an exact clone you could mix this recipe as is with the base percentages of the original to get that TMAX flavor explosion.

As Overachiever stated, this does need some steeping, I'm 4 days in and already amazed by how true it is to the original. But I did start vaping it at only 2 days and loved it already.
#20 by JohnnyBigodes, Jun 22. 2016, 13:36
@tomtactix thank you for your reply. Yes i am used to the original one. I thought it would be 40 PG / 60 VG all the time. I bought the version with higher VG (30/70) also, but found out that the flavour is also weaker. I have already all the Aromas to mix this receipt and will for sure try it out. I was just afraid, that this isnt like the original. I already tried a lot of receipts and all of them werent near the original.
#21 by tomtactix, Jun 22. 2016, 13:45
Yeah the original is high in PG, that is what makes the explosion of flavor, but it's too harsh om my throath. I think a 50/50 batch will suit your needs well.

Apart from that it all depends on your taste buds. I'm sure there are people that have exceptional taste and would notice differences in the original and this clone. But for me, this clone is absolutely amazing. Definitely worth trying out!
#22 by TheVapinSailor, Jul 7. 2016, 05:08
Any idea if "FA lime cold pressed" would work here instead of "FA lime distilled?"
#23 by Richy25, Jul 7. 2016, 08:03
I'm sure it would work
#24 by JohnnyBigodes, Aug 2. 2016, 15:13
I made this 3 days ago... It really smells like the original Snake Oil... I will give it 2 more days and take it for a vape. Maybe it is really close to the original. Even if it isnt close i am sure it still will be awesome. I will let you know when i took a vape. See ya.
#25 by ozmeister, Aug 2. 2016, 19:10
OMG youve nailed this pal ...brilliant ADV
#26 by JohnnyBigodes, Aug 5. 2016, 23:19
overachiever man. I tried the mixed juice just now, after a 5 day steep and i have to say that you pretty nailed it. I would give you 10 stars if i could on this receipt. You cant imagine how many receipts i tried to get this juice close to the original. I am pretty sure this is a 99% clone of the original. You dont get the 100% just because it dont have the same color, but at the end it is the real Snake Oil. Thank you for this...
#27 by overachiever, Aug 5. 2016, 23:23
Glad you enjoyed it
#28 by JohnnyBigodes, Aug 5. 2016, 23:25
Man i cant believe that after 2 years of trying receipts i finally got to try your receipt and your receipt is the only 1 that is almost the original one. It is a really awesome juice and really very expensive. Not anymore ;oD
#29 by jimmar1965, Feb 20. 2017, 08:55
Can anyone tell me why after 8 days of steeping my e-liquid is transparent ?
#30 by JohnnyBigodes, Feb 20. 2017, 09:10
@jimmar1965 Why shouldnt it be transparent? It is always a good thing if your liquid hasnt any color. The good thing on this receipt is, that is a good clone of Snake Oil. Everything seems to be spot on but the color.
#31 by jimmar1965, Feb 20. 2017, 09:14
Thanks a lot Johnny. The juice is amazing, spot on.But the color made me think I did something wrong !!!
#32 by JohnnyBigodes, Feb 20. 2017, 09:17
Dont forget, that is always a good thing when juices dont have any color... I still can asure you that your juice will get some color when you are opening the bottle or when exposed to light.
#33 by OhYeah, Feb 20. 2017, 15:59
I've vaped this recipe (1 week steeping) the whole weekend and today I've switched to the original Snake Oil to see how much alike the two liquids are.
As I noticed before, the orange in this recipe is overly dominant, and when switching to the original Snake Oil I've noticed a bit of liquorice and some blackberry missing.
I'm going to add some of that to the recipe and see how it goes, but even without that this is is my new ADV.
#34 by DDrama, Sep 28. 2017, 03:51
Just mixed up 1000ml of this. Yes 1000ml. Goes to show you should always test a small batch first. I was thinking it would be citrusy with a hint of the anise herbal flavor. Mixed it to the T .... its overly strong black licorice with a hint of lemon lime. I dont taste much else from the overbearing anise. Maybe im just on the wrong side of the pond to appreciate it lol
#35 by merback, Feb 9. 2018, 19:29
I've bought everything from the list apart from the Koolada, but i do have WS-23 (40%). I hope this will work out. Looking forward to mix it up!
#36 by merback, Feb 12. 2018, 19:41
Ok i've made my first 100ml 50/50 as a test.
What differs in mine is the WS-23 instead of Koolada
TFA Pear instead of FA Pear drops. (But i've read the FA is sweeter than TFA so i did not remove the red touch so it would keep its sweetness)
The smell is not accurate to the original recipe before the steep but i was heavily surprised with the taste already, amazingly good recipe. Very happy that i tried this.
Thanks alot. :)
#37 by Morpheus1976, Apr 4. 2018, 12:15
The original does not contain Pear. It is on this site too
#38 by overachiever, Apr 4. 2018, 12:17
@Morpheus1976 - It's "Pear Drops" not "Pear". One's a candy in the UK and the other is a fruit.
#39 by Morpheus1976, Apr 4. 2018, 16:42
Neither is in the original recipe...
#40 by overachiever, Apr 4. 2018, 18:13
Well, you can't tell the difference between "Pear Drop" and "Pear" so you obviously haven't bothered mixing this up (or used pear drops before). So it ain't exactly credible when you say "Neither is in the original recipe". Get your tastebuds checked mate, the original definitely doesn't contain mint or cucumber..
#41 by Morpheus1976, Apr 5. 2018, 12:44
Sorry for not knowing a flavor that is only used in 26 recipes on this site. But unless Pear Drops don't taste like pear gummy candy but cucumber and mint you recipe is not correct. Hommage maybe, clone nope. Anise at 4% is way to high too and Koolada is not in the original either.
#42 by JohnnyBigodes, Apr 5. 2018, 13:37
@Morpheus1976 How do you know what is in the original? Have the maker released a receipt? If you dont like this because it is not like the original, why the hell are you still here? Go get the non existent receipt of the original or just buy the already made liquid.
#43 by overachiever, Apr 5. 2018, 14:05
@Morpheus1976 Criticising a recipe you haven't tried when you don't know what the ingredients taste like is frankly idiotic. Pear drops doesn't taste like gummy candy at all. Koolada is what gives that slight tingly feeling at the back of your throat in the original
#44 by JohnnyBigodes, Apr 5. 2018, 14:09
The problem is that he is thinking the other receipt on this site is the original. It may taste like the original but this also does.
#45 by JohnnyBigodes, Apr 5. 2018, 14:11
And the original liquid doesnt have any cucumber and and mint at all. My tastebuds are still good to know that.
#46 by Morpheus1976, Apr 5. 2018, 14:36
well, if you blend different flavors you come up with something different like vanillin, cinnamon, orange oil and wintergreen. The result doesn't taste like any of the ingredients but like pink bubble gum. Or cactus, cherimoya and quince don't taste like any of the ingredients but like golden delicious apple.

I grant you, that I have not mixed THIS recipe. But the other snake oil recipe on this site is 100% spot on and thus I highly doubt, that another recipe with 4 times the anise and some pear flavor and no cucumber or mint will taste the same. Maybe the issue is steeping time to have the cucumber and mint blend in the background.
#47 by JohnnyBigodes, Apr 5. 2018, 15:14
OMG !!! Come on !!! Mix this up or shut up... Dont comment anything before you tried it. This receipt is older than the one you are talking about. I already mixed liters of this and i still think this is spot on to the original that i bought like crazy in the past.

THE ORIGINAL ELIQUID DONT HAVE ANY MINT.
#48 by Morpheus1976, Apr 5. 2018, 15:29
well, you critizise me for saying the original does not have pear, yet you say the original does not have mint. How do YOU know?
#49 by Morpheus1976, Apr 5. 2018, 15:33
did you mix up this one, the other one AND have them vape side by side with the original? Didn't think so.....
#50 by Morpheus1976, Apr 5. 2018, 17:11
...and forgive me if I trust my tastebuds more than yours. And if you don't take my word for it, take it from a well known company that quite successfully sells clones of famous e-liquids, often from leaked recipes. And guess what their recipe contains? Yes, cucumber and mint....
#51 by Wee Bit Scottish , Apr 25. 2018, 14:45
I am really liking this.
#52 by DemonizeD, Sep 26. 2018, 19:03
I can't find a Pear drop. Is there a equivalent?
#53 by TonyR, Mar 1. 2019, 18:51
Fair play, this is really very close. I had also tried in vain to get something similar with DIY and never quite got there. Too much lime for me in this though. Will definitely reduce this in my next batch. I've seen others mention the colour and Capella Harvest Berry will go a little yellow when steeped, may try this also?? Will post my findings!

Anyway, this is a really good recipe if you like Snake Oil and very 'vapeable'.
#54 by Kad63, Apr 7. 2019, 16:14
Does anyone can suggest me or tell me what différents flavors with percents I need to make recipe of sands of time by tmax juice? Thanks
#55 by Leroy007, Feb 2. 2020, 20:47
Very nice , its spot on when you first mix it but after a day or 2 the anise wears off
#56 by BadLuc, May 13. 2020, 06:52
I never tasted the original, can you please tell me if it is necessary to use sucralose in this recipe? so that it is close to the original.
#57 by Alextmax, May 12. 2023, 12:42
@Morpheus1976 there is no cucumber or mint in Snake Oil - try upping those Koolada levels listed here rather than reduce them. -From the maker ;)
#58 by Alextmax, May 12. 2023, 12:58
very late to this party but the effort put in by @overachiever is fantastic and we are humbled so much time was spent to clone our juice! Am tempted to mix this up now! may have to buy some of these flavours tho :P
