Killer Kustard clone. Props to DIYorDie Wayne for the structure and simplicity of this recipe. But I think he got the custard wrong, and I ditched the EM and added a tinge of cream. It could be Sweet Cream rather than Whipped Cream but this is near the limit of my tasting ability.

I sometimes detect a slight pineapple note in the original, reminiscent of the frosting in Cap Vanilla Cupcake. TFA Smooth also has that note, as confirmed by the TFA ingredient list. I wouldn't use more than 0.5%.

Goddamn. I read about 3 pages worth of comments on Royalty 2 and saw this hiding like a little gem. I wanna say there is Smooth in the original, as it lends to the thick mouthfeel. I have tried Waynes Version, Folkarts, and recently shakenvape007 released a clone of Killer Kustard.

I'm gonna mix this one up and give her a taste. I have not bought a bottle of Killer Kustard in a couple years but I think now that I have 4 clone versions, it's time to do a proper comparison.

I'll post a review soon. Looking forward to the nailed down version of Royalty 2!

Thanks for the comment. I think I detect a little Smooth in Royalty as well - it's a very light pineapple note which you get more on the knuckle test than in the vape. If I was to change anything else in this recipe it would be to lighten the vanilla (maybe reduce the FV and use some TFA French Vanilla 2) and/or bump up the cream.

Yeah. Shakenvape007 used some inw marzipan and seemed to work too. I always start thinking about how a smart company would make sure they are using flavors that are always readily available and would likely not be using any ingredients that had the DAP elements to avoid having to reformulate the recipes. I can see it being a all TPA recipe as well or almost exclusively one company.

Alright. I was able to not touch this for 2 weeks. I'm much better about giving juices the proper steep time. Especially with the custards I think a month is almost always necessary.
This has that sweet thick mouthfeel of a commercial juice. I did a couple drops of SMOOTH and it seems to be doing its job without muting everything else. Nice recipe. I still havent picked up a bottle of the original, but I wanna say it needs a little more vanilla. Just from analyzing the mixes I've tried, I'd say adding some INW Marzipan 0.25% and TPA Vanillin 0.25% might be worth a shot. I dunno I"m just throwing things against the wall. I do remember the color of the original. That bright yellow, really distinct. None of the 4 clones I've tried past the eye test but Regardless of how close to the original this is definatley a great sweet but thick vape. Top 2 for sure. And I screwed up the mix on Royal Ting. I don't have TPA Tobacco and accidentally grabbed a marshmallow man remix bottle instead of my pg/vg mix bottle for the first 4 mls or so. Any TPA or FLV tobacco's close enough to sub for the regular TPA Tobacco.??

Thanks for the feedback. I have played with brighter vanillas, including TFA French Vanilla 2 and Cap VWC, and will revisit sometime. I like Shakenvape007's clone, but that marzipan is very distinctive and it definitely isn't in the original.

I feel the TFA Tobacco is key to my Royalty clone (which BTW I've improved considerably over the past months - will post when I'm completely happy with it.) it's got a rose note which I haven't found in any other tobacco, as well as a hint of ash. Unless I'm completely imagining it, this note is fairly key to the overall profile, even though it's barely detectable. You could maybe get somewhere close with just RY4D and a small amount of TFA Rose Candy (and I mean SMALL, like maybe 0.1% - that stuff is strong) or INW Wild Rose (perhaps 0.01%!) or FA Rose (bit more forgiving, so maybe 0.5%?)

The marzipan is noticeable but I dig it as its not usually an ingredient in most custards. On shakenvape or DMC's Cloning with the Crew channel I remember him saying it provided that "missing something". Yours and his were the top 2 of the 4 clones that I tried cause their just plain good vapes. I guess I need to pick up the original, just hate paying so much.
Yeah I remember now from reading all the comments on Royal TIng that you said TFA Tobacco was the key note. Dont know how that didnt register..That show of Shakenvapes on the DMC Mixers Crew is worth checking out. Good content, popular juices, and they had a Flavorah Give Away. I won my pick of 10 flavors just for mentioning #Flavorah in the comments. The guy I traded emails with from Flavorah sent me 18 different flavors! I was blown away.
I'm gonna order up some Tobacco. Is there any nuts or exotic flavors in your updated version of Royalty? .

Vapetasia do make some bangers. Re the nuts, you might want to get hold of some Hazelnut (both TFA and FW) and I'm currently adding a touch of FW Pecan, plus a fair bit of A/P.
#8 by UncoolTom, Aug 25. 2019, 22:44
That's straight Pecan (really dark, but you don't need much) rather than the more common Butter Pecan. You'd have thought Butter Pecan would work but for some reason I can't get it to.

Ok. I got FA hazelnut and FW hazel nut. I have FW Butter pecan. I've never seen just pecan.
Bull city has tfa hazel nut but not tobacco. You know who might carry both? .

Though to give you fair warning I might drop the Pecan! I've got to the point where I'm fussing over 0.5% of flavouring, and it might end up being a tiny bit of TPA or FW butterscotch instead. All these latest mixes taste fab anyway - just trying to nail the original spot on.
