DIY Ethos V. 1 ejuice recipe :: e-Liquid Calculator

So, this is literally a first attempt and completely untested. I'm mostly posting this to share my initial thoughts after developing a new hunch about an Ethos Crispies clone recipe I've been working out that I'd like some feedback on. This hunch came to me almost out of the blue when I wasn't even thinking about my clone. It came during a series of trials I was running on various single flavors to learn them as ingredients. I was going through a bunch of flavors in no particular order when I started to sample Flavor West's cake batter mix at around 7%. It stopped me dead in my tracks. It was, in my opinion, nearly identical to the main flavor profile of Ethos Crispy treats. I believe it is the ingredient that has been alluding me. I'm fairly certain Cap's vanilla custard is in the recipe as well. It's what I smell when I take sniff of Ethos. The cake batter would make sense this way too because I've noticed it doesn't have much of a scent and almost none of its flavor comes across in its smell. I feel this way with Ethos Crispies as well. Cake batter dip almost tastes like sugar cookie dough to me. It's a distinct flavor and it is very much what I taste in the Crispies every time I try it now but I can only smell Cap's vanilla custard when smell the bottle. I also included tfa sweetener in my recipe because Ethos clearly has some sort of sweetener in it. Lastly I chose to add some tfa marshmallow because it is, in my option, the gooiest and most authentic of the marshmallows on the market when this recipe was created. I'm guessing that some of the texture of Ethos Crispies is coming from that. Thanks @vapekitten for showing me that. I'm only publishing this because I know a few other people are trying for this clone and I know they might appreciate just reading this. I'll get back with a more developed recipe soon! I hope I'm right about this and my assumption about the cake batter dip isn't just desperately wishful thinking, haha! If it is I apologize for getting those following my rice crispy recipe's hopes up. These percentages are just guesses right now and will surely have to be adjusted. I'm going to try this recipe for the first time tomorrow and I will post my thoughts.

If you want feedback firstly someone is going to die if they try this lmao. Way to much diketones man, you are reaching 5 pawns status, also you got that cake batter dip and marshmallow way, way to high. It's going to mute everything with steep time. You gotta dial back. Less is more I've learned,

Thanks @VapeJeezus. The main reason for the cake batter being that high is that in the Ethos recipe it was more prominent than my 6.5% solo. The marshmallow I put high because another mixer's recipes gooey factor was on point at 6% tpa. I feel like your comments are on the money when it comes to muting through steeping but I also feel like the actual recipe I'm cloning might have suffered the same fate, haha! I smell the vanilla custard strongly but I only taste how it has curbed the spiciness of the cake batter mix a little bit.

I'd recommend dialing back everything. Try cake batter 4% marshmallow 3%, 4% rice chrunchies, vanilla custard at 1%, then replace sweet cream with Bavarian cream at 1.5% if you have it and then lastly try adding caramel at between 0.5 and 1%. Hope this helps. I never tried a rice crispy treat but this is how I'd go about it at first

I just realized I had sweet cream instead of sweetener in my recipe. Whoops! I agree you could be right about a lot of that but I do have a couple thoughts about the lower percentages. I feel like FW, Cap and TFA are fairly weak in comparison to other companies like FA and Flavorah. I've tried lowering percentages and I find the flavors taste muted to me. I respect that many mixers prefer to set up their recipes that way but for me I do usually go higher and prefer my mixes that way. I often wonder if the mixers that suggest the lower percentages are dripping, or it they are vaping out of a sub ohm tank like me. I can imagine that lower percentages would play together better in the steeping process but I often find that when I follow the recipes of well respected mixers, who choose to mix low, I find myself struggling to experience the full flavor profile of the recipe. Just my experience. Also, I'm not adding the crispies because this clone is of a mix that is more gooey, sweet marshmallow than actual rice crispy treat. I have a recipe I'm working hard on for that type of vape but this is just to help out mixers trying to clone the Ethos version. I am a much bigger fan of my own now, haha! I hope this message doesn't come off as though I'm not listening to your advice because I do appreciate it. It's actually funny. Not sure what this guy is talking about i vape cake batter dip all day, and 9% isn't too high. Its actually on the lowest end of the spectrum unless you are just using it as a complete side note then id still reccomend probably 3-5% just for it to actually show up. circus cookie 10% cake batter dip 4% Sugar cookie 2.5% sucralose .5 strawberry .25 shisha strawberry is a killer recipe..... Not sure about ethos yet, to me the time i tried it, it was just all sucralose and rice crunchies with something else. Nowhere near a complex or completed recipe.... Just seemed like some improvised shitty stuff that someone topped off with sucralose to make it finally vapeable.....

Thanks @Monkeymang. Honestly, after trying cake batter dip, I feel the same way. It seems, more or less, like a stand alone with lots of sweetener and a touch of vanilla custard. I'm going to incorporate the Crispies but I honestly couldn't taste them in the original. That's another flavor I struggle to taste at lower percentages.
