Notes
Lately, stopped feeling my juices taste.
Read that peppermint should help.
Will try this thing. Hope it'd help.

Also heard about a recipe - a cup of coffee without milk, sugar or other additives but with a 1/3 of table spoon of ginger. Will try it for couple of days from tomorrow and will report about all those methods...

Interesting recipe and idea. My tried and true method believe it or now it LEMON. Buy a lemon and cut it into about 8 (if you can) wedges. Just take a wedge, bite down on it (like a lime with a tequila shot) and swish the juice around in your mouth for a few seconds. You can then choose to spit it out or swallow it. I swallow. Something about the acidity of lemon resets the ole taste buds. It works great for me and quite a few people I have told. However some people just can't deal with lemon so can't do it. Personally I find that drinking coffee makes the numbness of vape tongue worse and smelling coffee beans does nothing. I have wondered if a strong ejuice made of just lemon and 50/50 would do it. Take a few vapes on the ole RDA .... but a real lemon is quicker and easier, with less clean up :) Curious if it works but as I always say, feel free to click the trash can next to my comment. Peace out!

Sly, thanks for the method! for how many days and how many times a day i should try a lemon method? :)
#3 by SlyFox, Sep 19. 2016, 13:59
For me and most you only need to do it once (a day) if needed. It won't hurt anything but I tend to use a lemon wedge about once a day. But I use a TFV8 and kind of vape a lot :)

Have done everything I've mentioned before for one day.

Menu for day 2:

Mint Candy (TPA) - 3%
Cantaloupe (TPA) - 3 %
Bubblegum (FW) - 5 %

If nothing else works there is the obvious but probably not feasible (For me anyway) is to stop vaping completely for 10 days. That is about how long it takes your body to regenerate all your taste buds. Or so I have read (On the internet so you KNOW it is true!). But I have seen this on a lot of blog and message boards. I just know I can't go that long so can't weigh in on it.

JoJo said on the forum:
Roughly 70% of what we "taste" doesn't come from what our tongue tastes but what our noses smell. This holds especially true for vaping. Hold your nose really tight and vape and you won't taste much other than maybe slight sweetness or bitterness. Vapers TONGUE is a misnomer. Flavor fatigue as I've heard it called, seems to represent a more accurate description of what is happening.

and that's what I have discovered today, I was eating a cake and realized that I taste only sweetness, while this is actually supposed to have a great taste - my mom made it for me and my wife in the weekend and it supposed to smell great too. Smelled it couple of time - nothing :((((
While eating, I've had a second, when I've felt all the taste and it was great but then felt just sweetness.... It's the nose! Will try spray with sea water for couple of days... this story is annoying as I'm a cake and custard vaper :)
I don't like fruits and mints and so on .... When when when my cakes will be back?!?!? :)))

Nice article and yeah we taste with our nose as much as our tongue. My cat will run across something and it is funny as he will open his mouth as he smells it. Maybe we could learn something from them :) I have also read as I think I posted earlier that smelling fresh coffee beans or fresh ground coffee should reset it, but I drink so much coffee that one doesn't work. I guess just as we all taste the same thing differently we all probably need different ways to reset. For me it is a lemon wedge. For you .... you will find it :) And THEN you can have your cake, eat it too, and ENJOY IT :))))

Tried the SlyFox method with lemon. I didn't have a real lemon but had the lemon juice that comes in a plastic lemon. Couple big squirts and gargled it like mouth wash for about 5 seconds then spit it out. Did this twice then rinsed with water.. Can taste strawberries and custards again..Amazing, Thanks

Be careful folks with the lemon juice. That is a quick way to erode enamel from your teeth. Not saying it can't be done, but doing it every day could possibly lead to damage even if you are rinsing after doing it.

Good info here! Cats have a special gland (think its called jabonsen's) in mouth for what I call DEEP smelling - you know they rely on smell for many things.

Anyway, i realized I definitely need a fix for my creams fatigue - will try these ideas.

Just cracked open my test of JF Mint 1.5%, which is really good (after a week) - almost creamy tho, so I doubt it'll do the trick alone, but I'm gonna try! Maybe a lemon mint ice cream with a bit menthol juice woukd be good?!
