thanks to;
Fresh, Sycamore, worthy, chainvapez and paulb for helpful comments and suggestions.
I like menthol, so I go to 2%. 1% should be fine and you can add more at any point. 1% of sour should do the trick. Happy mixing! Like I said, you can have a cheeky shake and vape, but don't be disheartened when it mutes after a few days, it 'will' come back after 7-10 days and gets better with age. Don't heat it, don't breathe it, don't aerate it. You'll lose all the volatile organic compounds otherwise. just give it a good dark, cool steep with a shake every day or so. Good luck.
Ok done, the smell is identical to the original. Shake and vape, the menthol isn't quite there at 1%, so I've upped to the 2%. The flavour profiles are spot on. Great work mate, this is looking very promising!!
Yup, it really is a coil killer, you can drop the sweetener if required or can stand it less sweet. How is it tasting after a steep? Any tweak suggestions? Taste being a very subjective thing and all that :)
It tastes like for like to the original in my opinion, really good clone. Just a personal preference on the menthol, which i'll reduce next time. Really great recipe, good work!
I wouldn't say 1:1, it's still under development, but I've definitely isolated the key flavour profiles. The original recipe is still ' far' sweeter and The lime profile still needs enhancing a bit. Otherwise, it's very close and a nice vape.
The recipe for me is really good. I have mixed with 2%, 1% and 0.5% menthol and find the flavours stand out more with 0.5% menthol. Some of my pals prefer this to the original. Shame its a coil killer, I have to change my wicks every 2-3 tanks (every 10-15ml) with this juice.
Couldn't have done it without you worthy, standing on the shoulders of giants and all that :) I've spent so much on concentrates trying to nail those missing notes. Still a little tweak to be done on the sweet lime (like a green skittle) but the final piece in the puzzle is in our reach. Otherwise, I'm very pleased with it and vape it constantly lol
you said a little tweak needs to be done like a green skittle... dont quote me on this because i havent tried it for a while but what about fw skittles... i know thats more a lime then anything else ...not fresh lime more sweet ...
just to double check... i just dabbed abit of that skittles concentrate on my finger and ... its definitely got that skittles green taste ...worth a try if you have it Pr0f355...
I've just read the tasting notes on fw skittles, can't believe I missed that. To be fair, didn't think I was looking for skittles before. Can't wait to try some with my next batch. Will probably drop the lime zinger by half and compensate with the fw skittle. I've tried literally every lime concentrate and combo of lime concentrates, but they were too fresh and or bitter. Shit, I'm excited now lol.
lmao...i hope this is the missing piece for because im mixing up 300ml of this soon as you confirm it lol ...did you try inwera flavourings? i was going to order the shisha lime and the normal one to try but isit worth me doing that you think?
i know this isnt the recipe but i thought i have to try out this skittles in a mix to see if its the missing flavour... i dont have the concentrates to mix up the recipe you have made there on the way but i can tell you now... this is the missing flavour... damn ... even the recipe i just done tastes good off the bat its just missing the lime zing and the menthol really... niceeeeee haha
Inw lime was one of the limes that was like a bitter cleaning product to my palate. More of an accent flavour than a mainline flavour. That recipe looks like it might work as well.
Just had the fw rainbow candy delivered and taste tested it, can't believe I missed this! Could be a game changer. Mixing new test batches tonight, will report on shake and vape tasting notes.
had a play with FW rainbow candy - DEFINITELY ONTO SOMETHING!
currently having a cheeky shake and vape on fresh coils/cotton and it is 'full, limey and sweet, with a bit of fizz and nice undertones from the caramel. Fresh without being harsh or empty.
I have dropped the lime zinger as a main flavour profile as it is a relatively expensive concentrate, i have focused on using FA key lime.
I have also dropped rainbow sherbet as sweet and tart offers the fizz and enhancement.
Still more of a tribute than a 1:1 clone, but it is a very, very nice vape if neon green slushie is to your taste.
If you don't have all the flavours/additives available, focus on the following concentrates in order of importance and tweak to your taste;
main flavour profiles
FW rainbow candy
Lime concentrate(s) of choice - zinger/FA key lime (not inw, too bitter)
lemon ( either lemon/lime or a low % mix)
caramel
supporting flavour profiles
aurora
ecto cooler
additives/enhancers
sweet and tart
sweetener, as much as you/your coils can handle!
menthol
koolada
Great work mate, I will give it a try for sure. I couldn't access the recipe earlier and panicked!! I have found this juice holds up better with spaces stainless steel claptons in wattage mode, on my 5th tank now and still going strong
Yeah, tried em all mate. DV lime Zinger is the best of the bunch, but rainbow candy gives the sweetest lime. If you don't have sweet and tart, use rainbow sherbet.
Limey! :) still mid steep, reckon it could do with another week. Considering reducing the skittle by .5 to 1% and increasing the caramel and or sweetener just slightly. Might need to increase menthol a tad too (to taste).
hi guys
i'm a big fan of green neo slush
i done the recipe from worthy and didn't come as i was expecting
after £80 spend.
how you guys rate this one?
thanks
Hey guys I'm new on here but I'm very very interested in the neon green slushie, is this one a dead end? I'm following closely as I want to get this on the go for sure 👌🏻
I still don't think the bottle I mixed is quite there after a week of steeping. Tasting good but just not quite neon green slushie yet.
I think I might label this bottle 'coil killer'. I have never vaped anything that will blacken cotton like this will! 👍
I substituted super sweet (CAP) for my home mixed 20% sucralose. Is this likely to change the taste of this mix much?
To be honest, I ran out! I'm getting some more as my last batch missed it. Honking of increasing the rainbow candy again too. Tried some original NGS the other day to reset my taste buds, it seemed to be a lot 'heavier' than I remember. Either an over steeped bottle or I'm beginning to prefer my own mix.
Anyway, keep your ideas and comments and tweak suggestions coming. I only went public with this recipe so I could get help
From the community to fine tune, I never claimed to have a 1:1 clone.
I forgot to thank you professorgreen for this recipe. Tasting great now after a 2 week steep.
I agree that FA distilled lime is a key ingredient in this recipe, havnt tried DV lime zinger yet but will get some with my next order.
Kills coils but it's worth the effort of throwing in some new wicks.
I mixed this over 3 months ago. I didn't try it when i mixed but it smelled ok. I had a taste at 6 weeks and was disappointed. Nasty after taste and no lime. 8 weeks later (14 weeks steeping) I tried it again. It's Amazing! Really close to the original elements. All the flavours have come through well with a nice tangy lime and just a hint of menthol.
A long long steep is needed but it's so worth the wait. Great work prof.
Been such a long time since i mixed this up! Pulled a bottle of an earlier iteration of this out of the steep box thats around 10 months old... fell in love with it again haha.
Looks like you progressed some more with it since i last mixed it and fed back on earlier iterations. Thanks for the credit dude. Gonna put an order in and mix this up and maybe take it further (if i feel its required).
