Notes

McVities Gold bars, a crunchy biscuit center with a layer of crisped rice smothered in caramel flavoured Caramac coating.

I've been attempting to nail gold bars for the last year, I've gone through so many different concentrate combinations that I'd consigned the mix to unicorn status... Then I discovered OSDIYs Lucky Shot!

In the strictest terms, a Gold bar doesn’t have any chocolate in it at all, due to not actually containing any cocoa... which is handy considering all white chocolate concentrates taste of arse...

Give this one at least a weeks steep so the caramel & cream flavours have time to settle.

Hello, this looks so good. Is there a sub for the calipitter chow ?
#4 by MichelB, Jul 10. 2017, 19:46
Without a steep it was very harsh and in your face, but retrying after 6 weeks and it's lovely! It's a part of my rotation now ;)

Love this!

Does lucky shot have any peanut/hazelnut/nut of any sort notes in it? I can't tell based on the flavor description over at OSDIY (but the photo seems to indicate nuts).

this recipe is awesome but I was using it as premade from chefs and it seems they're no longer selling it. anywhere else I can get it from or will it be returning to chefs ?

It's now under one-shot wonders

I don’t have fw butterscotch ripple but I do have fw butterscotch and fa butterscotch. Could I use instead? Thanks

Spot on, using 5 drops of fw peanut butter in place of calipitter chow, fantastic recipe this, thank you.

An absolutely sublime mix. Thick, luscious, creamy caramel envelopes your taste buds with just enough biscuit. Steeped for three weeks and I'm in heaven :) My 30ml tester lasted all of one day!

Thank you for the work on this. I've made this recipe 3 times, to date, and in that time my appreciation for this recipe and the components(Calipitter Chow, Lucky Shot, Devon Cream) themselves are all playing a part in dessert perfection, and the 2 other supporting guys (FA caramel FW butterscotch ripple) are an elegant choice for the workload they carry w the rich flavors in the middle.

Simply delicious, can't begin to even consider just how much of this I've vaped over the last few years, just came back to it after a long break from it & it's ticking all the boxes as always, top mix Ella ;)

Hesitated to make this for a few months, as I wasn't really a fan of Ella's Vanilla Milkshake.

But now that I have.. yum! Nothing wrong with this one at all, a really creamy caramel-butterscotchy, almost custardy (but very light, none of the heavier, darker end of the scale) blend with just enough biscuit to liven it up and prevent it from being boring. I'll definitely be enjoying the rest of this 50ml and probably mixing up a bigger bottle not long after!

Only the first few tastes so far, but it's looking like a strong ADV contender.

I can confirm after a month of testing that this is the real deal, just can't put it down. A real signature flavour with proper staying power, it doesn't disappear after a tank like a lot of other dessert/bakery recipes. The biscuity undertone with the sweet gold-ish butterscotch top is truly enlightened. If you've got a sweet tooth you need this in your life.
