Notes
This makes a great Custard stone to use as a base for any custard juice..... Add a fruit, caramel, chocolate, or coffee.
I use this stone a lot, and anywhere from 2% - 10% in mixes.

For making my DaMomma's Vanilla Custard, I use this at 12% stand-alone.

When I make a juice with this stone, I generally let it breathe overnight in a dark place. Then shake -n- vape. :)
#2 by Mourning Glory, Apr 5. 2015, 15:35
thank you for posting this stone ... def going to make this up to use in custards ... again thank you Alisa
#3 by Alisa, Apr 5. 2015, 22:05
Very welcome. :)
#4 by jsambado, Jun 21. 2015, 16:21
Can i substitute custard? I only have the vanilla's C
#5 by Alisa, Jun 21. 2015, 17:23
@jsambado
You can try a little bit and see if it works. Take just a few drops of each of your flavors and mix them up, then use that new flavor to make a 2ml - 5ml batch of single-flavor juice to see how it vapes. That way, you are not wasting too much of anything.
#6 by popeye0406, Aug 14. 2015, 05:42
what % would you use blueberry with this or even strawberry?
#7 by Alisa, Aug 14. 2015, 05:52
@popeye0406 ... Depends on what brand of blueberry or strawberry. I have used Capella's Sweet Strawberry @ 6% with the Custardstone @10% and it turned out very well.
#8 by popeye0406, Aug 14. 2015, 06:37
Thank you very much.... I am still pretty new to this.Thank you again Alisa
#9 by Alisa, Aug 14. 2015, 13:24
Most welcome. We all continue to learn new things every day! :)
#10 by Chris, Nov 4. 2015, 02:22
How would you convert this if I wanted to try this first and not make a stone? Would cheese cake with graham crust be 2% ? And so on
#11 by Alisa, Nov 4. 2015, 02:45
You got it, Chris!

DaMomma's Vanilla Custard
2% Cheesecake (Graham Crust) (TPA)
1% Cheesecake (LA)
1% French Vanilla (TPA)
6% Vanilla Custard v1 (CAP)

Flavor total: 10%

#12 by Chris, Nov 4. 2015, 15:24
Thank you was just making sure
#13 by Alisa, Jan 22. 2016, 04:07
A 'stone' is basically a new flavor you make up with other flavors.
#14 by john70, Jan 30. 2016, 16:55
Wait a minute? I normally let da mommas vc steep for a month...you saying if I mix this as base I can reduce my wait time?
#15 by Alisa, Jan 30. 2016, 17:36
@john70 - It's been my experience, when I let my custard base steep first, when I eventually use it to make DaMomma's Vanilla Custard, I can just overnight steep it and the ejuice is very good. Try it both ways and see what you think. :)
#16 by john70, Jan 31. 2016, 04:14
I will be doing just that, thankyou
#17 by Mezo, Feb 1. 2016, 14:10
I have only new york Cheesecake can I use it instead of grahm crust and the Cheesecake? Whats the percentage?
#18 by Alisa, Feb 1. 2016, 14:28
@Mezo .. if the CAP New York Cheesecake was all I had and I wanted to make this stone, I would use it in place of the two cheesecakes @40% and reduce the Vanilla Custard to 50% so I could still get my French Vanilla in there@10%. But, I have not done it, so I can't guarantee if it would be good.
#19 by Mezo, Feb 1. 2016, 14:32
@Alisa Thanks for your help, I will give it a try :)
#20 by W0WZA, Apr 2. 2016, 23:02
I would have to use CAP New York Cheesecake instead of LA Cheesecake and CAP French Vanilla instead of TPA French Vanilla.

Would that work? :)
#21 by Alisa, Apr 2. 2016, 23:48
@AnthroVapeZ I don't see why not. It will be a little sweeter custardstone than mine, but it should still be very good!
#22 by W0WZA, Apr 2. 2016, 23:57
Thank you. Yeah, I like it sweet. I'll mix it at 10% at 70VG/30PG as a stand-alone. :)
#23 by johnny2419, May 24. 2016, 08:07
Cornerstone = the foundation Stone. A great use of words, I have a order coming in soon so I can make your Cakestone and the Custardstone. Do you have one for Creams? Looking forward to trying these out, THANK YOU!!
#24 by Alisa, May 24. 2016, 13:58
Here ya go, @johnny2419vapes - tjek.nu/r/2kTM
#25 by tlc221981, Jul 22. 2016, 21:11
36ml of vanilla custard????
#26 by Alisa, Jul 22. 2016, 21:23
@tlc221981 - this is a recipe for a stone. After you make this 'stone', you use it just like any other flavoring.
#27 by RandyRotten, Aug 11. 2016, 16:58
I don't have (la) cheesecake but I do have (CAP) NY cheesecake . Any suggestions on %or anything ?
#28 by RandyRotten, Aug 11. 2016, 18:24
I'm sure you get asked this a lot . Ha ha sorry
#29 by Alisa, Aug 11. 2016, 20:57
I haven't really used CAP's NY Cheesecake much at all, but the average % used is close to the LA. I would try it at the same percentage I think, @RandyRotten .
#30 by RandyRotten, Aug 13. 2016, 19:22
Okay I'll give it a try.. Thank you
#31 by Zugmaschine, Aug 19. 2016, 12:55
@Alisa, @all - Same by me. Only CAP's NY Cheesecake in my stash! Can i sub Lorann`s Cheesecake with the one fro CAP?,And with how much %? Or u think the diffrent is to much? Or sub it with a other Flavour!
#32 by Zugmaschine, Aug 19. 2016, 23:21
I think to premix a good Aromastone is a very good help! I made 30ml but sub Loran`s, with NY-Cheesecake-CAP, at same %! Good shaking every day and 3 days steeping! No breathing!. Is good to give the Aroma this 3 days! Than i mixed 20ml Juice: 10% of the Aromastone and 1,5% of Bilberry FA! I l let it steep 5 days! Every day a good shake. I love it! But i will also try the "NUT-Way" with that stone ...

#33 by Alisa, Aug 20. 2016, 03:48
Awesome! Good for you, @Zugmaschine :)
#34 by lola, Sep 24. 2016, 12:51
I like this custardstone very much as standalone and use it in almost all my recipies too.
now gonna mix the 2 others custardstone you made .
thanks a lot for all the recipies you share , for now Ilike them all, really.
bisous Alisa
#35 by Lama, Dec 11. 2016, 05:44
TY Alisa for sharing this , just made a 10ml subbed LA with NY cheesecake. Gotta make with what I've got :)
#36 by Rob Moby, Dec 21. 2016, 03:29
Awesome mix, I added in some Peanut Butter and a little Milk Chocolate and DAMN it was so good.

Tried another with dark chocolate and some sweet raspberry and OMG it was amazing
#37 by Alisa, Dec 21. 2016, 07:10
Thank you all for your comments! I'm so happy ya'll liike it. :) Vape on, ELR !
#38 by Bakesh Emet, Feb 11. 2017, 07:02
This worked excellent in a caramel latte mix I made and credit given to you for the flavor base.
#39 by cooter, May 20. 2017, 13:29
I was curious about your reason by not using Nic? Or is it something you add when mixing a complete recipe? Thanks Luv
@Alisa
#40 by cooter, May 20. 2017, 13:40
One other question, and I know you been asked this a lot, but what steeping preferences/techniques do you use? @Alisa
#41 by Alisa, May 20. 2017, 14:39
Hey cooter... This recipe is not for an ejuice. It is for a 'stone', or 'premix' or 'one-shot'. It's a recipe for another flavoring, basically.
I have tried various ways of aging, but I prefer just to mix and let time do it's work in a dark cabinet. If a mix has a lot of alcohol-based flavoring in it, I may let the mix 'breathe' awhile before I cap it and let it sit. Otherwise, I just mix, cap, and age it.
#42 by cooter, May 20. 2017, 15:22
AAH OK! The way you explained it does make sense now.
So when you're steeping, you let sit without shaking it now and then?
@Alisa
#43 by Steve-o 54, Jul 5. 2017, 03:58
Ok stupid question but.... what is a "Stone?"

#45 by Alisa, Jul 6. 2017, 17:52
Hey @cooter - I do shake them up now and then, especially if it's a new recipe. I'll pull out the new one, shake, test, then put it back.

@Steve-o - Like above, This recipe is not for an ejuice. It is for a 'stone', or 'premix' or 'one-shot'. It's a recipe for another flavoring, basically.

Hi' Alisa.. I want to make this . but I've not Got LA. do you think using NYCC in stead of LA ' would make a decent enough base
#48 by Alisa, Nov 19. 2017, 20:19
@Cloud Muncher - I think it would still make a very good stone, yes.
#49 by Haggis Muncher, Nov 19. 2017, 20:49
I will make your Original recipe'
but NYCC version will have to do for now' Until my next order
Many Thanks Alisa' x
#50 by Mgunit13, Dec 22. 2017, 21:24
Could I use NY cheescake....and do you think that DIYFS French Vanilla would be better to use then French Vanilla deluxe tpa???

I have both if them only.

I just received the DIYFS French Vanilla and it smells much better then the tpa deluxe (more creamy vanilla
#51 by KarlaM202, Jan 18. 2018, 23:42
Hi Alisa...hoping you can help ! I'm loving the look of your recipes, and am getting ready to make a few, but what I'm really wanting is a good Vanilla Ice Cream ...to vape solo, and to mix with other ingredients ! I love the ingredients in the stones - are these adaptable to vape solo, and at what %? just getting started with DIY, so sorry if the questions seem silly !! Thanks for your help !
#52 by Alisa, Jan 19. 2018, 02:52
@Mgunit13 - sorry, but just seeing these comments today on this recipe. Hope it turned out ok for you. The NYCC should be fine. Never had that particular French Vanilla.
@KarlaM202 - I use this at 12% stand-alone to make DaMomma's Vanilla Custard .
#53 by Marcil802, Jan 19. 2018, 14:08
I searched the page and I see no-one asking about vanilla custard v2 sub. Would it work? What are the differences anyway? Thanks
#54 by Marcil802, Jan 19. 2018, 14:13
Also I have Cap frenchvanilla and TFA French Vanilla Deluxe and new York Cheesecake. Can I sub with any of those or I really need to. Order
#55 by Alisa, Jan 19. 2018, 16:56
The CAP FV should work great. The VC v2 is good, but make sure you age it a bit longer.
#56 by Marcil802, Jan 19. 2018, 19:07
Wow quick reply, thanks, I imagine that if you didn't mention new York Cheesecake is either because you don't know or you haven't tried it, I'm sorry I am super retarded when it come to mixing/subbing, I have no time to invest into learning, I'm doing it to. Save money and having tons of great juice. I appreciate the time, effort and money you guys spend that actually help a lot of people 😁 french Canadian here BTW
#57 by KarlaM202, Jan 19. 2018, 22:25
Thanks for your response ! Hoping to find more favorites from your recipes ! Thanks for all your time & effort !
#58 by Alisa, Jan 20. 2018, 03:36
@Marcil802 - oh, sorry. I had replied to someone else on the NY Cheesecake before. It's a great flavor and I would definitely use it here.
#59 by Michael, Jan 28. 2018, 22:20
Hi Alisa, thanks for everything you do and your willingness to share what you've learned along the way,it's really helpful ! Have you heard of anyone getting a peppery taste from French Vanilla TPA? I get one from TPA VBIC. If you can ,what is your experience with flavors going stale or going bad.I'm getting so much conflicting info it's driving me nuts. Thanks again.Michael.
#60 by Alisa, Jan 28. 2018, 23:54
Hey @Michael. I've experienced the 'peppery taste' from the TPA VBIC too, but after mixing and aging the juice for a couple of weeks, that 'peppery' went away completely. Can't remember right now if I've ever had that from the French Vanilla, but if I did, it went away also, with aging. Taste is so very subjective though. Some people have never experienced that effect at all.

As for flavorings going 'stale' or 'bad'... I've not had that happen yet. I've had flavorings lose their 'punch' over time, like over 18mos. I had a batch of flavorings that sat in 100 degrees for a week that I didn't even bother testing, just threw them out. I have several flavorings that have sat in room temperature (in the dark) for over 2 years, but still work wonderfully. I've thrown out a couple of coffee and a cocoa flavoring that just looked 'gunky' after sitting for 18mos or more. These are my own experiences. I really don't believe there is a rule for ALL flavorings on 'expiration'.
#61 by Michael, Jan 29. 2018, 00:05
Hi Alisa, thanks for the fast reply, that in itself is pretty amazing! Great info, very helpful. My flavorings are all under a year cause I'm new to this but it's good to know your experience. All my flavors are on display racks in cool, darkened areas. As time goes on I'll check the flavors and see how they're doing. All the best.Michael.
#62 by Mgunit13, Jan 29. 2018, 18:11
@ Michael I been mixing 3 months and I have 13 d iffernt vanilla flavors and 11 of them I get pepper smell, taste, vape from but after proper steep time that goes away completely just like Alisa said. For me with pepper tastes for it to go away completely, it's generally 3 week steep
#63 by Marcil802, Jan 29. 2018, 21:26
What about adding
-black cherry tpa
-Kiwi double
I'm talking about 2 different recipes not together, those are flavors I'm trying to use
#64 by Alisa, Jan 30. 2018, 04:44
Sorry I don't have those flavors, @Marcil802 , but if you try them, please let us know how they turn out!
#65 by Michael, Jan 30. 2018, 13:40
Hi Mgunit13,thanks for the info on the vanilla problem I had,I thought I was going to have to avoid TPA vanilla stuff all together. All the best and Happy mixing!
#66 by Mgunit13, Jan 30. 2018, 18:22
Hello...Your welcome... if you do Facebook group searches (while in the Facebook group) click search icon and type the word: pepper..... this will bring up all the posts with the word pepper in them and 90% of them are vanilla related... you.can click on each one and read about them.... not just that but you can search keywords of anything or even type your own name or someone else's name in the search and it will pull up all posts theat you or they posted. This is an excellent feature for searching specific flavors and recipes.
#67 by TwoTone, Feb 23. 2018, 08:30
@Alisa.. I keep seeing "Custardstone" in a lot of recipes and I knew it would be your fault hahaha xx.
I was wondering if you have ever tried Cheesecake By TPA? and what so you think about using this as a sub for LorANN`s.
Love And Respects xx Tony H in the UK xx
#68 by Alisa, Feb 23. 2018, 18:30
@TwoTone - never purchased the plain ol' TPA Cheesecake due to reviews I read on it and being happy with others already. If you try it, please let us know how it turns out for you!
#69 by Michael, Feb 23. 2018, 19:06
Hi Alisa, quick question...if I have to sub one flavor for another and the average mixing percentages are different, maybe one stronger or weaker, what is the easiest way to adjust the percentage.I try to use the recommended flavor but it's not always possible. Thanks again for all you do and happy mixing!Michael.Toronto.
#70 by Alisa, Feb 23. 2018, 21:36
@Michael - you can use the ELR calculator ! Click the blue wrench at the top right-hand side, select 'adapt'. This makes a copy of the recipe for you and you can change anything about it you like at that point. It's your own recipe at that time.
#71 by Michael, Feb 23. 2018, 22:32
Hi Alisa, sorry I didn't make the question clear. The question is how to calculate the percentage number that will be inputted.Say FW has a cream and the average mixing percentage is 3.7% but I don;t have that cream,I have to use another and that mixing percentage is say 2.4%,so it is considerably stronger, how do you then calculate how much of the stronger concentrate to use.Do you have a method for that. Thanks!
#72 by Alisa, Feb 23. 2018, 23:59
@Michael - Ahhhh... .Ok then. I'm going to make it easy and give you a link to THE solution!

#74 by ValentoS, Sep 4. 2018, 13:45
Can I use Vanilla Custard v2 (CAP)?
#75 by Alisa, Sep 5. 2018, 02:33
Sure can, @ValentoS . :)
#76 by Tanya, Sep 16. 2018, 01:49
@twotone. I've given up trying to use tpa cheesecake. There might be a recipe it works it but i tried using it in about 10 of Alisa's recipies and it is just gross. I've made a tester too at 5% left it for a month, it was revolting. Has a very strong chemical taste that never goes away. I let it breath, I've shaken it etc.
#77 by Ruana, Jun 3. 2019, 20:34
@Tanya, @TwoTone, I totally agree with you Tanya. Cheesecake by TPA is not good. I can't even think of a flavor combination where it would work. It has some really bad off-notes I couldn't "mask" or get rid off. I recommend anyone to simply stay away from that flavor. It's a east of your money.
#78 by Donkey Punch, Sep 23. 2020, 02:40
OMGoodness. I just mixed up a bottle with the stone at 12%. It smells so good. I forgot to add sweetener to my stone, maybe this won't need it. :)
