Very good taste :) I'm not even a custard fan!!! My taste buds are in love. Thnx for sharing. Don't add 1% butter! really just 1-2 drop per 10ml. I tried both and 1% butter is just to much =)
i used Cap VC and upped it to 15%
Then 3% on the Brown Sugar
Was excellent after week steep
Thank you i make 120 ml every 2 weeks of this
The TPA was good also
Followed the recipe with exception, I used 25/75 PG/VG. (I'm a bit PG sensitive). This is a great recipe. If you are a custard fan, don't miss this one. After 3 weeks of steep, smooth and flavorful and just plain FSCKING AWESOME! Steeping wasn't an issue, I was out of the country for 2 weeks, so wasn't in a hurry. :)
I will sub Cap VC and LA Butter and try that as well. Maybe a few drops of Italian Lemon Sicily and Anise to broaden the profile.
#dly No, it is just Butter (TPA). Not Movie Theater version.
Hello everybody just want to say this recipe is creamy fucking awesome We have finish m'y 30ml bottle after 3 days stepping... I just replace butter TPA with CAP butter.
for me it's like à goose custard with more tast. ( sorry for m'y bad english i'm french froggy's )
@Breezy, it might help if you could identify what flavor you feel is present in excess. Taste is subjective so your experience is going to be greatly different than the next person who mixes this.
For me 8% on Vanilla Custard is easily enough, and I would drop Butter to 0.25%, and add AP at 0.05% to give a bit of punch to the Graham Cracker (clear).
I would add instructions on steep time and methods used because this is a deep steep type mix, best in a month or so but not earlier if you really enjoy custards and are willing to shake the mix and then let it breathe every day.
If you want the best out of tobaccos, creams, bakery goods, and custards you need to have a months worth of mixes in the bottles steeping so you aren't tempted to break into something early.
Comments like really bad aftertaste and absolutely disgusting are unhelpful to others. I don't like AP all that much if it is above 500ths of a percent, it absolutely dominates my tastebuds and I can't taste anything else. My opinion on both of your guys comments is the custard and butter percentages. Try 8% and 0.25% respectively and put in a good shake and then let it breathe with the cap loosely placed on the bottle every day for a month then try it. It should be bang on by that point.
Maurice Pudlo, thanks for usefull comments! have some questions:
1. what's AP?
2. breathe everyday, for how long? i killed some of my juices tastes with breathing ... don't know how to use this method correctly and in which cases .... some said that only flavor with alcohol needs breathing... can you make comments on that please?
Breathing e-liquid is a preference based thing, some of the more volatile aromas will be reduced without a doubt if you breathe a liquid longer than needed.
I do several different breathing schedules depending on my recipe, alcohol based flavors take a while (week or so, depends on how much is used and how often you shake as well as how much surface area is available) to remove the alcohol, with PG or VG flavors you are more modifying the flavor by allowing certain aspects to evap away than anything else. To an extent some oxidation also happens, this also alters the flavor some.
I'd suggest cap off steeping or just loosely placed till you see a color change in the liquid, then just once a week till you are satisfied with the flavor.
I've placed my order for the remaining ingredients for this juice. It sounds a lot like Colossus by Cyclops, which was my ADV vape for 2 solid years. You seem very adamant and liberal with the use of the TPA vanilla custard? I'm assuming Capella V1 just doesn't shine through in this recipe? Can't wait to make up 100's of ml's of this. Thanks for posting this!
Made this the other day, first time actually using vanilla custard Tpa. Find it smells super peppery, hope it doesn't taste like it smells. I generally use vanilla custard cap.
Does that smell dissipate with steeping?
They are very different, not really sure how to decribe the difference but from my experience, VC cap is excellent for real custard recipes and VC Tpa I often use in bakery recipes. I find Tpa does over power the main notes in bakery recipes.
As for this recipes, I'm not really sure I did not try VC cap in it but but it's very different than Tpa and this custard is perfection after proper steeping
When I make this recipe I use 9% VC Tpa.
Wouldn't hurt to try VC cap at maybe like 7% to see what happens tho.
Give it a week or 2 steep and let us know
No idea why but when I made original was amazing then I forsome reason adapted and added ap and it lost its delishiousness.
Dropping the recent 100ml batch and starting new brew 😣
This had a sort of "sawdust-y" flavor that I think came from the Brown Sugar. I didn't really like it at first, tossed it in a box and forgot about it. I'm gonna have to make it a habit of waiting way too long to clean out my old juice bottles because this one sat for six months and I decided to try it out again before dumping, and I'm glad I did! Somewhere along the line, the "sawdust" note cleared up entirely and I'm left with a creamy, gooey, sweet vanilla vape that turned out really good in the end.
Ya I've made every custard out there probably fifty of them. Passed this one cause of percentages. Will be getting 4 oz of tfa custard banging recipe went through 2 oz of vanilla custard tfa in a month
I didn't have all the flavors so I used what I had (CAP gb, CAP gcv2) I have to say it is one of my favorites now...started with 15ml...excellent shake & vape...will be making a bigger batch for sure!! Thank you for the inspiration with this recipe!
Reply to Thedurden01: "Anyone know where that peppery flavor is coming from???"
It is normal when there is a high % of Vanilla Custard. Let it steep for at least 6 weeks and the peppery flavour/smell will disappear.
I usually give the mix 3 hot baths of 30 minutes (with cap on) shaking between baths. Then leave cap off 1 week in a dark place. After 1 week put cap back on and shake daily. With the passing weeks you will notice the peppery taske/smell get less and replaced by a magical creamy custard. Oh, I usually taste a drop of the mix every so often. The longer you let steep the better it will become.
Note: If you like your juice a little sweet and tasty then use 20pg/80vg...massive difference in taste. I've tried more pg and it is not the same, for my taste more pg felt yucky.
I mainly vape RY4 (Tribeca clone) or MFS Soldiers blend tobacco mixed with my DYI custard (1/3 mix ratio). Heavenly taste and the house smells nice as well :)
I made this as written & right now, at 39 days it is really good. The TFA Butter works well too even though I also have FA & CAP. I first tried it at 6 days & it was almost too rich, but at 14 days it started mellowing out & melding together. I give it 5 stars at 21 days, though. I don't think I've ever used my TFA Vanilla Custard this high, but at 3 weeks (and beyond), it's very nice.
