This has got to be the best thick creamy sweet recipe I've made in a year.
10- 20 day recommended steep but for the impatient one 3 days will do.
Its perfectly sweet with no added sweetener but 1% EM (Cotton Candy) is optional.
I prefer EM n this over supersweet because it is sweet enough without sweetener the added EM in this serves as a blenderizer.
I do not particularly like the spice in regular Horchata but that doesn't mean it would be bad it's just not my thing. The FA Almond and Marzipan are the two ingredients that threw this recipe over the top! FA Almond & FA Marzipan and FA Coconut are none negotiable. I really wouldn't mess with the Vanilla Swirl either its the right vanilla cream for this mix.
I'm always missing 1 thing! I know, the hated question. Any sub ideas for that Vanilla Swirl you said is so important...lol. Shisha vanilla, LB Ice Cream, RF ice cream, FLV or RF SC Vanilla Custard?
Idk what I would use in its place quite honestly. Vanilla Swirl has a very vanilla pudding type taste and I've not found anything else like it. So if you want to get an idea all I can say is if you sub it out make sure what ever you use has that thick vanilla pudding type taste and I don't know what % to recommend for another flavor.
Made this April 12 tried it at 2 weeks was very tasty. Put it back to steep longer and pulled it back out may 19 and it's so very good. Very creamy with a little kick of horchata...thank you very much
@Zak you can try this : Drop back the VBIC and the Vanilla Swirl by 1% each making them each 4% instead of 5%and push the horchata smooth up by 1%. Let me know how it steeps.
Very tasty vape after about a month. The horchata comes through nice...not too strong. I'd like it to be a little sweeter, as much as I don't like to use extra sweetener in my mixes...might add 1% EM. All in all...great work Jenn...as your recipes always are!!
This is amazingly good as you mixed it. However, being a tweaker, I could not resist and I mixed two versions when I did it as I wanted to bump the cinnamon a little more.
One I did as per your recipe, and one that I added 2% CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl and 1% FLV Rich Cinnamon (10% solution). I can't decide which I like better, will have to wait the full steep time to see if the additions meld more.
Saw ur post in our facebook group and i love coconut so i had to give it a go. FANTASTIC!!! So creamy and just sweet enough. Wouldnt change a thing. Keep up the good work!!!
I admit .. I'm one of the impatient ones :-) 3 days old and it taste like summer. I love it and look forward to see the juice age, glad that i made 100ml and still have 90ml in my black box.
Thanks for a great recipe :-)
Testing this now, steeped since. 1-28-19. Haven't rewicked, since abusing Liam's new custard now, or whatever it's called. Which is very good also. But I like the way it taste so far, creamy and light, I get the creamy,a touch of coconut, and horchata...maybe a slightest bit of the rum. Will test again with clean wicks tomorrow though 😋
I made 60 ml of this today, very shake n vape worthy, Delicious! Making 120 ml to steep for later. My coconut FA needed a good place, and this is it! Thank you!
