Notes
Steeping Method : "Separate Steeping" by Kostas44

Stepping 3 weeks
1) Put in 5 ml base + RY4 Double (TFA) + Acetyl Pyrazine (TFA) and steeping 4 days
2) Put in 5 ml base + RY4 asian (TFA) + Sweetener (TPA) and steeping four days. After 4 days in this mixture ADD Toasted Almond (TPA / TFA) and let another 3 days to steeping together.
3) Put in 5 ml base Vanilla Bourbon (TPA / TFA) and let the six days to steeping alone.
just mix all mixtures on different days mentioned, insert them all together in a bottle and add the rest of your base (how much liquid you have arranged to create)
Caution ... The days in each mixture are different ... steeping first mixture ones that have more days and then the remaining ..
The finale steeped liquid should be 10 days or more ... and start to measured after mixing of all the blends .... good sake every day if you remember ...
Store in a dark place .

What is this steeping method designed to do?
If I mixed it all at the same time and steeped together, will it ruin the mix?
#2 by kostas44, Sep 6. 2015, 17:01
i mixed all my DIY e-liquids with this method because i saw a difference with this in taste .. for months i tested all my recipes with this method and the normal method .. My method i think give on those groups ------>the taste i want ... and for those groups, i think very carefully before put together ..... For this recipe if i shall create different groups with the same recipe flavors i shall take difference taste...This is my opinion nothing more nothing less .. Try both methods and let me know what do you think:)

It's a little hard to mix it but definetly worths it.
#4 by totoyfly, Jan 19. 2016, 09:10
where does this method work? is it only for tobacco blends? or does it work even on pastry and fruity blends? I've head this before and it sounds plausible. I would like to talk to you more about this. :)
#5 by kostas44, Jan 19. 2016, 10:01
My method work in any e liquid recipe :) you can group flavors together and try it .. different groups different taste after that in the same recipe ...

I mean this in the least disrespectful way: Decent shake and vape. Yeah, I'm a lazy MF. lol.
#9 by Jazzy, Nov 11. 2016, 06:01
Thanks for the share. LOL, I thought I was the only person that steeps in layers. I was trying to think of an uncomplicated way to explain this. Let's say there are three molecules, #1 and #2 attach easily to each other, #3 will attach to #1 but not so easily. If you put all three together at the same time, #1 and #2 will attach every time and #3 will just be alone. If you only put #1 and #3 together they will attach to each other grudgingly. Once they are attached, #1 and #3 will hold together even if you add #2 later. These molecular or chemical bonds are what determine the flavor profile. I'm to lazy to look all these flavors up at the molecular level and then go through each one to determine how they will attach, so I do it the old trial and error way.

@JAzzy thanks for the additional information. now I have more things to play with... steeping was used to be boring...
#11 by mjma, Dec 1. 2016, 06:20
Is it safe to assume that this steeping method will work fine for making a flavor base, so I can easily mix bottles on demand later without repeating the involved steeping process?
#12 by Pluring, Dec 3. 2016, 21:13
Anyone has nothing to say about the taste of the juice? All comments only is about steeping method.... I am really curious about the taste profile. Thanks!
#13 by FumaKilla, Dec 4. 2016, 12:31
@pluring
Havent reach the 3 weeks mark yet...
But the other bottle in which I didnt use the complicated steeping method.. has uniq flavor profile.. (I'm not being helpful).. for me it's interesting not sure what the complex one will bring out...
#14 by kostas44, Dec 4. 2016, 12:42
The steeping help to give more unique flavor taste in the groups and in finale e liquid .. you can check it if you do this recipe with the ordinary way ...(all the flavors at once ) and the recipe with my Separate Steeping with groups .. you shall take more vibrant taste with the groups and more understood them in vape .. I know is more time consume but i believe in worth it !!! Good luck to all ... In Greece this recipe is very popular in all groups and DIY world ...

Ok. I will try both the easy and the recomended way. I have never tried the Asian ry4 before so this will be lots of fun! All the ingredients will show up in my mail box this thursday. I am really excited to try this recipe. I have been learning for my 4 months of vaping that i dont really like fruity or way to creamy juices. I have tries about 20 top rated recipes so far. The only recipe i have yet really enjoyed so far is a RY4/Vanilla/Cinnamon recipe. Would have been nice to find another juice that i can add to my rotation instead of my expensive premium liquids.

@kostas44 thanks for the recipe. I was looking for a good tobacco recipe since i m bored with those fruity bakery recipes. I have all flavors except RY4 asian and however RY4 asian involves "acetoin" and i really mind it(if it doesnt involve dicetone, i still cant find it in my country anyway). What do you think if i use just RY4 double increasing ratio as ry4 asian (total tobacco flavor %5.5). Or i have FA RY4. Do you suggest me to blend it with TFA RY4 double. If you do so then how much(%) you would add FA RY4 to this recipe. Is RY4 Asian a must in this recipe_? Thanks in advance for your reply.
#17 by kostas44, Jan 7. 2017, 01:25
Tinker35 in this recipe need Ry4 Asian but if you dont want it .. just replace it with Virginia Fire Cured by Flavor West 0.5% or just add only RY4 double 5% in total
Let me know when you shall do this recipe with those changes
#18 by tinker35, Jan 7. 2017, 01:55
@kostas44
I ll try it just with RY4 double then and will share my impressions but i have one more question. I have "madagascar vanilla bourbon TFA". Is this the same vanilla bourbon in your recipe. I hope so, if not then i cant buy more flavors since i already paid almost 240 euros for flavors last month to finish my diy recipes.

Following the instructions of @Kostas44 and without testing the recipe with normal steeping (all together) i can really say.. Wow! Taste us smooth, clear with no tense aroma, balanced with great feeling.
This recipe gets my approval and i will sure make more.
I will prepare one more with normal steeping and revert with comparison and results.. Thanks Kostas44! Great recipe!
#21 by DukeZaki, Aug 15. 2017, 16:22
Guys ..

The Only available AP is the: Acetyl Pyrazine 5% (TPA)

While Kostas44 asked for the 10% AP ..

So, For that recipe, Shall i double the TPA 5% AP to be 0.6% .. ??

Cheers..
#22 by Panagis, Nov 30. 2017, 13:12
Same question as Zak here... I can only find TPA Acetyl Pyrazine 5%. Do I double the percentage?

I don't have easy access to Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla, but I have Kentucky Bourbon with my flavor stash. I also have vanillin and vanilla custard v2 from capella, vanilla custard and vanilla swirl from TPA.
Can I use MBV with KB and Vanillin + Vanilla custard?
#26 by Talamaskunk, Apr 19. 2019, 01:14
I want to try this but i havent got the madagascar bourbon vanilla. I do have fa madagascar and tpa Bourbon. Is it possible to mix those two? Thanks in advance

After 35 days of steeping (and shaking), this is a very smooth & enjoyable vape @ 15 watts. I get an addictive sweet smokey nut which makes me... drooling. One of the best "tobacco" vapes, worth the wait. Bravo, Kostas, greetings from Chania! :-)
