Α different, tasty and special american blend based on two excuisite flavors, Cowboy blend (FA) and US Blend (INW). I hated both of them when I tried them as single flavors, but I loved them in this recipe.
Don't even think of trying Westworld, unless one month of steeping has passed!
Any suggestions for using mellow sunset, cam blend, cowboy blend or black fire all form fa? Black fire is all about adding Ash but I haven't figured out the others to well yet.
I bought these on sale and don't know what to do with them cause all recipes for them use other tobaccos that I don't have and don't want to buy them without knowing if they are any good to my taste as I'm a sweeter Aromatic Tobacco guy nolike the ry4 double.
apologies in advance to the book youre about to read, but at this point I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to this mixers recipes. first - & this might be obvious to anyone reading the comments - but dont sub US Blend INW with another 'US Blend' - like I did, the first time I made this, with US Blend FW. it came out legitimately bad. in the US, INW can be hassle to get in general, but its not worth slacking in this dept. second: I have yet to find another DIY mixer literally anywhere that I think whose body of work is as precise and or as skilled as StamatisGR - we clearly have the same taste preferences, so I am biased here - but after mixing most of his recipes, I've learned the hard way that subbing one brand's aroma for another just cuz I don't happen to have the one the recipe calls for doesnt work out, at least for me, not even once. there are surely exceptions, perhaps with some of the simpler straightforward aromas where theres not a lot of room for variation in the profile, but as a general rule any of these INW or FA's need to be used as per recipe without exception, and in my experience, this is true for most everything else as well. I've mixed StamatisGR's recipes so many times at this point - I've experimented with cutting any corners u could imagine, subbing aromas many different ways, and I've been honestly shocked how precise these recipes are; ESPECIALLY down to the multi-step steeping processes (which at first to me seemed unnecessary) - requiring 3 or more different mixes with different steeping times before combining everything - I promise u, if u slack on any of these steps/aromas u will get a sub par result. most of StamatisGR's blends are far from the realms of something like an all CAP strawberry custard - in part due to the fact that the profiles of the individual aromas are some of the more complex and specific out there. for the most part, we couldn't be farther from SNV territory here. this is probably obvious to most of you, but I f'd around and had to learn the hard way - which sadly, at first, led me to believe that some of these just weren't that good. StamatisGR is literally the only mixer I've found so far I'd consider giving 5 stars to some of his mixes - and I've been mixing for many years. I'm the type that doesnt believe perfect ratings can exist - in 99% of cases - as theres always room for improvement; not just in recipes, but in devices as well - with extremely rare exceptions. personally, Westworld for me is 4*+ if mixed as per recipe. if you're curious, as to a few of my 4.5-5* picks by StamatisGR, see: 'RY d-Light mkII', 'Desert Smoke', 'RY after 5 mkII', 'RY d-Light','RY after 5', which all have been nonstop ADV's for me for well over a year. I know, a lot of RY4 variations there, which I tend to prefer in general. but for something different and fruity, 'Ithaca - Green Sea', 'Camel with a cherry on top','CocoCherry Symphony' are also fantastic. I believe its safe for u to consider trusting my palette, at least a semi reliable metric: fruits, custards, candies, cookies, chocolate, tea/booze/beverages I like almost as much as my love for tobacco mixes; and I'm one of those neurotic weirdos that keeps a daily lineup of RDL, DL, & MTL devices at the ready filled with just about every juice profile, that I cycle thru throughout the day. I dont like things just one way. yes, I actually MTL as much as RDL. all the recipes mentioned above are great for either setup; having said that, more often than not, when it comes to the RY- & tobacco variants, I tend to vape them MTL, and the MTL recipes are the only mixes by StamatisGR I take liberties in altering, but only in the NIC dept...this is due to the fact that despite quitting smoking properly in 2013, I continue to smoke occasional pipe - which I never intend to give up as I love it too much - and in order to deliver an experience that satisfies me in a similar way as a high quality strong blonde pipe tobacco or black Cavendish, I mix all my MTL juices at 36% '1/2 salted' nicotine (solely to simulate the throat hit and my eternal drive to overdose on nicotine lol). to clarify, i mix most of my MTL juices w/ 18% nic salts & 18% base nic. this might seem nasty as hell to most of you, but if u share my passion for pipes and cigars that you no longer let yourself indulge in, this provides a massive pipe-like throat hit & nic blast that I crave and can be hard to acquire since I MTL with the tightest possible air flow (Kayfun Prime, Kayfun lite, & Atmizoo Tripod in MTL mode). I prefer StamatisGR's 'RY d-Light' in my Taifun GT-IV in RDL mode (due to the chocolate), same for his 'Varadero' (again the chocolate) & 'Cool Pineapple'. Honourable MTL mentions: his 'Castle Long Reserve' clone, & 'Trishade' (for me, usually as MTL). My DL/RDL tendencies are a little more sane at 8%-12% base nic. one more quick tip, as I've seen this come up a few times in the comments: INW DNB (dirty neutral base) is absolutely essential when called for; not only is it a brilliant aroma, theres literally nothing (I know of) that could be subbed for it - so get some and use it; if you're unfamiliar, you'll see what I mean, and you'll be impressed by its function. and lastly, a non-related side-note, and at risk of solidifying myself even further as a totally neurotic over-sharer, just as StamatisGR recipes go, the same goes for the RTA's I mentioned: clones of which will only be a disservice to yourself and your experience, as their are no subs for them either (trust me, I've tried). for those of you unconvinced, I promise its worth saving for a few months to get the real thing; and they really shine in the context of StamatisGR's recipes. if your a shameless heavy vaper like me, you owe it to yourself to vape on quality gear (which took me years to accept), as the difference really is night and day ;)
