This clone recipe is slightly modified to reduce both flavor muting and cotton browning caused by an excessive amount of malic/citric acid in the original. To make this exactly authentic, remove the Koolada and increase the TPA Sour to 3%.
it sounds like it has too much mint/menthol, as the jungle juice also has menthol. im going to take your word for it, and try it anyway. what do you think about swapping out the blackberry for TFA or FA? because bull city don't seem to have blackberry FW...
disgustipated - see my note regarding the koolada. I can't vouch for any other blackberry flavorings either, but the good news is that BullCity seemed very positive and enthusiastic when I asked if they would consider carrying FW Blackberry.
Thank you SO much for this recipe and for the work you put into perfecting it! I came here from Reddit and ordered my supplies, pulled up the calculator and this is spot on! I've been doing 50/50 base blend, and haven't had to steep it at all! Perfecto! I plan to eventually tweak different aspects of it for different varieties of "Hawk Sauce", and plan to use different berries here and there! :) No more feeling butthurt that MBV is sold out every time I need to replenish my supply! Ha!
Thanks for the clone :) Just 1 question if you don't mind.
I'm completely new to DIY
I'm not too sure how to get around the nicotine measurements though. Online I can only find 50mg/ml variants (atleast in canada). But in the recipe, It says Nicotine juice 100 mg (100% PG), is this 100mg/ml?
Would I have to double the nicotine measurement if I have 50mg/ml?
MmoFanatic, you WOULD double the NIC amount if you were using 50mg. The BEST way to do this, is to "adapt" the recipe, and save it. Then under your "preferences" you can edit your NIC, and the calc will do it for your NIC %.
Here’s a bit of an update. Is it 100%? No. Like 98%. There is something in the original ( before mbv changed the recipe) hawk sauce that gives it a kind of hollow raspberry flavour which this recipe doesn’t have. However, that would be on top of what’s already in the recipe now. The sour I leave out for sake of the coils and it doesn’t affect my personal experience. This is absolutely my all day vape and has been for a very long time now. Can you sub any of the flavours? >> NO
I just got the Flavorworks order, and I noticed that the ingredients include ethanol! Have they always had that in them? Is it safe to use for vaping? It says “flash point at above 180 degrees”!! I don’t want this blowing up in my face! Responses greatly appreciated!!
CS777: There are quite a few flavorings with ethanol and we have been using them for over a decade with no explosions. Some of it will evaporate out but the amount of ethanol in a finished liquid is quite small. Keep in mind that people have been using these flavorings in cooking/baking for a very long time.
Hope that helps and if you have any further questions feel free to holler at us on the forums. Happy mixing!
Thank you Ken O’Where! I’m new at DIY, my closest achievement was adding flavor shots to unflavored liquid lol. Love this forum! I’m learning a lot. : )
