Well gang, here is my first attempt at making my own clone from scratch. Barista Brew Co.'s Salted Caramel Macchiato is freaking amazing and I knew as soon as I tried it, I would have to attempt to find a recipe for it. As it turns out, no such recipe I found really came close. So like any good DIYer, i gave it a shot on my own...and this is the result!
Is it perfect? No.
But, it is close. I think the one thing its missing is Salted Caramel instead of regular Caramel (which is all I had on hand).
Flavor:
It tastes bittersweet, with hints of chocolate and caramel. I found that VERY low percentages of the coffee and espresso flavors are better than overdoing it. This gives the good coffee taste without that burnt popcorn taste. It is kind of nutty but savory and sweet without being too sweet IMHO. I think its one of the more realistic coffee-esqe flavors I've tried and I hope you all like it.
If you happen to try it and have salted caramel on hand, let me know how it tastes in this recipe.
Please give me a rate if can spare the moment. Good luck and happy DIYing!!
@Jay clouds, I still haven’t tried it with salted caramel yet (I took a break from vaping) but if I had to try it, I’d probably rock somewhere from 2%-2.5%. The original I remember having that salty bite very clear. It’s sweet enough from everything else.
