Notes
Greek philosopher Diogenes the Cynic often had one off the wrist in public and when questioned replied “If only it were as easy to banish hunger by rubbing my belly”. Interesting thought!

Having a public shuffle would probably be deemed filthy in modern Greece, it certainly would here in Lincolnshire... He'd probably be chased with a pitchfork and pummelled with feculent turnips. Not as filthy however as this dessert of the gods, Galaktoboureko.

I haven't tried this dessert yet but should I brave a larger supermarket in the near future I will pick up some filo pastry and attempt it because if this juice is anything to go by, its gonna be a true taste of Ambrosia.

The pudding base and the custards work together to produce a thick luscious custard, a touch of holy vanilla is always welcome but could possibly be subbed for another rich vanilla, you should buy it though it's great stuff. The crispy wafer and croissant do a fair job of recreating the pastry and once the lemon, honey, butter and syrup have doused it with glorious nectar it just needs a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar to finish it off. I've added supersweet just because but I think if you're averse to it for whatever reason, you could probably drop it altogether with the sweetness that's already there.
