One of my favourite DIY's! the cakey mouthfeel ls really nice and tasty.. makes a really nice change from my custards. I had to use Capella's lemon sicily instead and am really happy with it.
Cheers fresh!
#2 by DishMixer, Dec 30. 2015, 02:28
Think this would end up like a pineapple upside down cake if you swapped the lemon sicily with TPA pinapple?
#3 by freshepies, Dec 30. 2015, 04:44
It might wind up fairly close in my brain, no telling unless you try it though, lol!
#4 by NJDAVE, Apr 4. 2016, 01:59
Great recipe, fresh! First DIY ADV for me when I started a few months ago. Gives me tons of inspiration. Thanks brother
#5 by Bmac, Apr 11. 2016, 22:46

#7 by Bmac, Apr 12. 2016, 04:19

#10 by saporvapour, Jul 3. 2016, 23:03
this recipe is amazing, best thing I've found yet
#11 by jedapearl, Jul 22. 2016, 02:16
Delicious! I wish someone would clone Banzai Vapor's Pound It though! This is similar but a lot heavier and darker.
#12 by The_Ckemist, Sep 7. 2016, 16:39
I'm wondering if the lemon is prominent in this mix at 1% ?
#13 by jedapearl, Sep 7. 2016, 16:58
You can taste it, but I wouldn't say it's prominent. It's equal parts cake and lemon in flavor, I think.
#14 by The_Ckemist, Sep 7. 2016, 21:01
Well I will give it a blast later cheers,
#15 by The_Ckemist, Sep 14. 2016, 13:12
Well I just tested a few drops in my rda and it was lovely. I'm really impress with the freshness from the melon, it's a lovely light zesty lemon, hope my rose 3 tanks stands upto this ha
#16 by The_Ckemist, Sep 14. 2016, 14:48
I put it in my spheroid v4 and it's very nice, I think the lemon is spot on at 1%, first time using FA lemon Sicily and it's nice, it's a strong concentrate and I feel I will use it again soon ha
#17 by Briggs, Sep 26. 2016, 19:29
So freaking good after a 2 month steep I kinda forgot about this juice in the back of the cabinet
#18 by roknbot, Oct 16. 2016, 21:12
I love this recipe! I upped the yellow cake a half percent because I love that flavor, but this stuff is addicting! Great job fresh!
#19 by Matt-war, Nov 6. 2016, 16:22
Awesome recipie! Made a couple of tweaks, nothing major tho. I subbed the cap vc for fa vc, since it has a slight lemon note to it I thought it might work well here. I also upped the fa Italian lemon Sicily by 1%. I find Fa Italian lemon Sicily Can sometimes loose flavour after a long steep and as I've made 200mls I thought it would be a good idea to up the percentage a bit.
Thank you for the recipie!
#20 by Kris-p flavour, Nov 10. 2016, 12:55
So. Damn. Good. Rich, creamy, sweet but not too sweet, fantastic texture. Tastes like a custard cake my mom used to make. No lemon detected two weeks into steeping, so if you want more of that I'd suggest increasing the percentage a bit. CAP Cake Batter is a great addition here. This is going to be a wonderful base for adding various fruits. Tempted to try this with a bit of chocolate, too...
#21 by frank1966, Nov 18. 2016, 01:57
thank you it great and a great base mix

#28 by Trainspotter82, May 29. 2017, 17:08
How long is the steep time?
#29 by Matt-war, May 29. 2017, 18:43
@Trainspotter82 anything that contains custard or cream I generally like to steep for a week. You'll definitely notice the flavour change over time. It gets smoother
#30 by Trainspotter82, Jun 1. 2017, 17:01
@Matt-war Yeah thats what I was going to go by if I never heard any different, just was wondering if this recipe had a sweet spot
#31 by James, Jul 23. 2017, 13:53
Where can I find Cap lemon Sicily?
#32 by Smiler, Jul 23. 2017, 14:51
@James the recipe calls for Flavour Art Lemon Sicily
#33 by MrBrown, Jul 24. 2017, 02:04
When i see a lot of warning symbol in the flavor components simply reject that recipe. We need to do an effort to make recipes with flavors without acetoin, acetyl propinyol and diacetyl and where is possible avoid flavors aggressive with ours tanks.
#34 by freshepies, Jul 24. 2017, 08:10
To be fair, when I made the recipe there was only one flavor with a warning, bavarian cream.

I think the hype over the pre-dicetyl agents isn't worth noticing. That's me though, we all make the choices for ourselves when we mix. That's the beauty of DIY.
#35 by Luck3, Jul 29. 2017, 08:37
This is awesome

#39 by STU, Sep 7. 2017, 04:44
@ Mrs Brown ....but but but thats all the tasty stuff , Im quite sure any damage it could do would be negligible.I used the v1 Van custard so I musta had a full house with the triangles ..lol. nom nom nom.
#40 by Stafylidis Vladimiros, Oct 23. 2017, 08:27
Good !
#41 by shtab77, Dec 23. 2017, 15:48
I didn't think much of it at first. After about two weeks (today) it's amazing. Tastes like a creamy lemon pound cake. Now I wish I made more than 15ml lol
#42 by freshepies, Dec 24. 2017, 04:29
Glad you let it steep out!
#43 by suoıʇnlos ǝuıʇsǝpuɐlɔ, May 2. 2018, 03:02
Excellent recipe, spot on!
#44 by FrayedJ, May 16. 2018, 00:19
Excellent Recipe. I had to up the lemon to 3.5%. Maybe its just me but I wanted the lemon to be a primary note. The cake is amazing just the way you wrote it up. Thanks Much!!!
#45 by Suomynona, Jul 22. 2018, 00:32
I had to make a few substitutions (cup cake and custard v1 vs v2), but I think the end result is about what you intended it to be.
Authentic flavor profile, subtle but identifiable lemon, nice.
I just had it sit for 4 or 5 hours, no real harshness or throat hit as I expected from your explanation. Maybe that has to do with the subs I made?
#46 by CMOZ, Sep 1. 2018, 03:23
Forget diacetyl, acetoin, AP harm. That Cake (Yellow) (FW) is a huge no. It contains natural sugar and corn syrup. Both are very dangerous to take directly into blood stream by inhaling which will cause diabetes in time. You do not want to take sugar into your blood stream directly while even eating sugar is a problem for human health. As a bonus sugar and corn syrup burns and becomes carcinogenic.
#47 by Trane Sonic, Oct 9. 2018, 15:20
one of first recipe i made. FW Yellow Cake is life and life is a bitch!
#48 by Ilovevaping2097, Dec 17. 2018, 03:27
I added 3 % lemon meringue pie and 1% super sweet. Top shelf delicious. 5 stars
#49 by freshepies, Dec 17. 2018, 03:40
Nice additions!
#50 by HMoore, Jan 5. 2019, 20:39
I'm thinking of subbing FW yellow cake with Nona's cake after FPSpy's August post.
#51 by freshepies, Jan 7. 2019, 20:27
Use jf yellow cake. Nonas will ruin the mix
#52 by HMoore, Jan 7. 2019, 20:50
Ok. Thank you. I will check that out. Haven’t tried JF yet
#53 by LE DIY BR, Jan 9. 2019, 00:53

#56 by HMoore, Mar 24. 2019, 23:28
ok after 2 weeks, still very weak. I followed the recipe but I'm not getting any lemon flavoring. There is a nice pound cake taste though.

#61 by Solix, Jun 23. 2020, 02:17

#62 by freshepies, Jun 23. 2020, 06:24
Tpa is very different from caps, just be aware.
#63 by Vapestar—812, Oct 23. 2020, 10:14

#65 by Stephen Morgan, Jun 20. 2021, 23:39
