Notes

Vanilla pudding. Just go buy a gallon of this stuff because it works so well in so many things. It acts as a sweetener, vanilla, and a thickener all at the same time. Cookie and whipped cream because they boost the body of this recipe, and meringue to help give even more of a slight egginess (and if someone figures out raw egg yolk flavor please let me know). Christmas in my mouth! Oh!! using the eggnog for nutmeg in this.

Yes, I was sitting here drinking Barbers eggnog while I came up with this recipe.

Yes,I actually have everything to make this one so if I get cracking and mix it up sharpish with a fair wind behind it there is a good chance that it might just be ready for Christmas Day. Thanks again @authormichellehughes for the great recipes that you share,Merry Christmas 🎄

Michelle, would you sub FLV Cookie for CAP sugar cookie or FA Cookie if you had to ?
#5 by TOC MichelleHughes, Dec 18. 2019, 19:38
On this one, Cap Sugar Cookie :)

thanks!

Michelle, looks great. I'm starting to think the Eggnog might be almost as versatile as the Vanilla Pudding.

I think you're right Session. I took out the rum on my version because it tasted better without it for me, also kicked in the sweetener because again it worked better for my tastes. Left the picture the way it is because someone else might like it better with the rum and no sweetener :)

I hate to ask for substitutions b/c I know people put much time and experimentation into their recipes. That said, do you think Sweetness FLV be substituted for another sweetener? I just placed an order at BCF and forgot to add it to my order, getting ready to place an order from ecx but they do not have Sweetness.

Absolutely it can be substituted AZ. I've made this with sugar daddy rick and it worked great too :)

OK thanks for the fast response! You must keep the same night owl hours that I do. I don't have anything from Sugar Daddy yet, I'll have to play around with it.

Any sweetener you like should work. I have a very hard time sleeping at night, worked night shift most of my life :) Happy new Years!

Happy New Years to you too - I hear you about working the night shift, even a couple years of it does something to your internal clock.

This looks so amazing.. but I ordered the wrong Egg Nog... Appears I got (FW) eggnog.
Is it at all feasible that the FW eggnog could be substituted for FLV eggnog just this once? I've been dying to try it, my order arrived yesterday.. and I had the wrong eggnog.
#15 by TOC MichelleHughes, Jan 6. 2020, 05:28
Oh wow, I didn't like FW eggnog, so very sorry.

😂 well, that was pretty bleak. I think the hardest thing with learning about mixing isfinding a description that is specific instead of subjective what brand has done with their version of flavors .. since they all have a version of the same flavor. I can never find a description of the flavors where they're sold.. I had no idea one brand had nutmeg.. but others do not. When comparison shopping "nutmeg" is far more important than "nummy" or nothing at all.. which is the norm. And there are so many flavors bearing the exact same name amongst all those labels.
Anybody wanna buy an unopened bottle of eggnog? Rumor has it it's Nutmeg free..

I finally got my supplies ordered correctly and saw the beautiful phrase "you can make this" under your recipe! I mixed the Hard vs. and am going to mix the original w/o the alcohol tomorrow. Color me happy! Can't wait to taste both! 😊

Awesome Maschelle! That's one of my favorite things to see under a recipe :) Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

How on earth did I forget to rate this lovely recipe, I’m so sorry Michelle.
Anyhow my notes told me that I thoroughly enjoyed this and for me to mix it again. Thank you for yet another great recipe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
