Wow, this one is quite good. A very vanilla custard...
Oh ya, the Cardamom by FA was diluted to 7 drops into 120ml of PG. If you don't want to dilute it then put one drop to 100ml. It's very strong stuff and can take over a recipe quite easily. You could leave it out too and it will still be fantastic.
Rich Cinnamon eh? sounds interesting. What do you think it does to the recipe? I am curious to know. Also, what percentage did you use?
Also, that was such a good idea, putting another spice in place of the Cardomom, I never would have thought of that. I'll put in my notes up top about the RC.
Assuming that this is good with cardamom or rich cinnamon, yet it's a custard recipe, there might be a custard stone in there.
I don't have cardamom either, but I have some flavors that I'd like to try using with a good custard base.
I'll try some things and let yall know.....
I've never made a stone believe it or not. I do use those 3 custards together like that a lot.
Cardamom makes almost everything better IMO but it tends to take over and it is difficult to get just right. I have ruined many a recipe by adding too much
I mixed this on December 1st. I'm trying it today and I'm already making a big batch ... Great custard. I don't taste cardamom, but I guess it helps ... It's not very sweet, it's very balanced. I'm not a great taster, but I do know what I like. Thanks @Dan_the_Man
The first thing that strikes me is the spice note. I got Cardamom (FA) specifically for this recipe. So glad I did! It brings another depth to this already lovely custard recipe. The spice plays a linear role and is present through-out the vape experience. It's a gentle custard and this is my preferred type of custard to vape. I personally would like it a touch sweeter and a touch more of butter as it vapes a touch dry.
Overall a tasty recipe here Dan and thank you for the share.
Papaghigly thank you for the thoughtful right up. I am glad you like it but I wouldn't mind some more... clarification.
I am curious to know how you used the Cardamom. Did you dilute it?
Linear, ya, nice way to describe it. I thought I was the only one to get that. I enjoy it like that very much lol.
Also, I am usually sensitive to dry vapes. You must be very sensitive. Either way, I am gonna mix up another bottle (I have been needing to) and pay attention to the butter note and the dry note. Do you have any suggestions on what concentrate you personally would use? I guess I could put some sweetener in it or maybe some pear for the dry note but I don't really want to mess with the overall taste.
Anywho, you have given me somethings to consider. 👍✌
Hey Dan, I'm a fussy bugger when it comes to custard lately. I love a super creamy custard (UK style). I've had success with pairing MOL Panna Cotta and pushing that Vanilla Ice Cream (LB) a touch to 1.25% to get that slippery buttery note. I'm not sure if it'll mess with the overall profile? I also pull a bit of an oldskool trick and drop TPA Cotton Candy to sweeten and relief any dry note. Your spice note is excellent in this. Just right! I used a 10% delusion and adjusted the PG accordingly.
I was thinking about pulling the LB ice cream up some. I'll have to give Panna Cotta a look-see. Cotton Candy isn't a bad idea though I find it likes to mute my flavors but sometimes that works out. Personally, I always liked FA's marshmallow for that same thing. I'll check it out though. Thanks for the quick response!
Funny, I've been fussy with my custards lately too. That is one of the reasons I am in a rut right now. I can't vape any of my old custards and I can't seem to make a new profile. Oh well, this one works for now and who knows maybe it will always work. Though that has yet to happen I can at least hope. LOL. I think all of us have at least a little of that in us. There is always something better around the next corner.
