Profile- beverage

If you don't know what Cheerwine is, it's a cherry-flavored soda made in North Carolina. Very old, I believe it came out in the early 1920's. Occasionally I find it here in the midwest at a certain grocery store & have always enjoyed it.

This one was a steeper. After the first two weeks I was ready to scrap it, but I let it sit. After 3 weeks it was a little better, but I still planned on either scrapping it or totally revamping it (maybe adding a black cherry), but again I put it away. Now after 46 days, it's pretty good. I wish I would have tested it more between 3 & 6 weeks because I am not sure of the exact required steep time. I just know that next time I will try it at 4 & 5-week intervals as well.

Last order I got Tall Maroon Soda and now your recipe is the only one I can find using the flavor. I can't figure out for the life of me where I saw a recipe for this flavor but had to. I don't have the other flavors in your recipe yet, but I do have Black Cherry and Cherry Black and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Any suggestions? I have paired it with some bavarian cream and it turned out pretty good.

I like to add 4% LB Vanilla Ice Cream to 20% Tall Maroon Soda for a nice float. I also have 25% with it solo occasionally for a Big Red Soda pop. That's at max-VG, though. TMS is a weak (but nice) flavor, so unless I'm combining it with other flavors, I use it way up there. Maybe give one of these two a try.

Howard this is an awesome recipe. I had my doubts about it but after steeping for 30 days it has really taken me by surprise. I thought that’s a lot of cherry flavors for a simple cherry soda. After steeping I realized it was just perfect. It has become a wonderfully smooth cherry soda. And I must say I’ve drunk a lot of Cheerwine over the years (my wife keeps 12pk in stock all the time) and this is spot on. Excellent job Sir I salute 🫡 you.
