I am so honored you whipped this up! This looks so darn tasty! What is your suggested steep time? I will mix it when I get back into town next week. I tried to use the forum to reply to your message, but it looks like ELR Forum/Chat is under a website attack right now and my anti virus software won't let me in at the moment. Thanks a million plus 1!
I had the same warning! Glad you like the looks of it. I'm at the bottom of my 30ml tester, just let it sit for a few hours after I mixed it. I do that sometimes to see how it develops, when the different layers start shifting. With this, the Frosting didn't show up til about 12 hours. I'd say you can try it after a day, but 3-5 days ought to work best. Then, if you like it, hide one for a few weeks for a finished steep.
I'll probably nudge a couple of percentages on my next run. I started the Ginger low because it can really dominate a mix. I'm thinking just 0.4 instead of 0 3. And, my Apple RFSC is pretty old, so it might need 2%, but yours might be fine where it's written.
I hope you like it! Keep me posted on how it goes!
I will definitely keep you posted when I get a chance! Q for you, I am a real noob here, so please do not take any offense to my q's, I have a lot to learn ....... You mentioned "I started the Ginger low because it can really dominate a mix. I'm thinking just 0.4 instead of 0.(sic)3.".... When I plugged in 0.4%, it gave me 0.12 grams, but Ginger at 0.3% gave me 0.09 grams. Did you mean 0.2 percent to give me 0.06 grams??? I assume you want it at a lower percentage since it dominated the mix at 0.3.
Ah! Sorry if that was a bit muddy! I started is really low out of fear it might dominate, but now it's a little too low, so I'm bringing it up to 0.4%. If that's not enough I may add a drop or two and call it 0.5 on the next run.
You're doing great! Ask all the questions you need answers to. It's how this works :)
Sorry for the delay, just got home. Will whip this up when I get a chance to rest a bit. So now you want to go to 0.4%, possibly 0.5% on Ginger? Is that your Final Answer??? Lol. I thought 0.3 would dominate the mix but it ended up settling down? Thank you so much!!
Ok, I mixed it up. My only problem is that when I was dripping the Ginger into my bottle, a drop of Ginger fell on my scale, so when I went to wipe up my spilled drop and I put my bottle back on the scale, it zeroed the scale out, grrrrr, so I am estimating I have between .3 and .5 on Ginger in there.
I have a LB-501 scale I got from Liquid Barn but am not wondering if that was a good choice.
Now I will wait a week before sampling this and set it aside for longer steeping.
Thank you so much for everything!!!
Plunderdrum Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I came down with the Omicron the very next day after mixing this and I had the worst sore throat I've ever experienced in my life, and I couldn't vape anything for about 10 days. I finally got around to trying this recipe today. It was very faint, I am going to double up on all the flavors except for the Burnt Sugar. I could taste a little burnt coffee like notes, so I will leave that Burnt Sugar % as is. I really want to see the Apple, Ginger, Oatmeal and Frosting pop up more. Thank you so much for creating this recipe!
Oh, wow! So sorry you had to go through that! Very glad you recovered. Thank you for getting back to me with an update. I hope your adjustments work out. The flavors were very potent and present for me, but we all vape and taste differently. You could be experiencing a diminished sense of taste and smell from the omicron, or it could just be the difference in our taste and set-ups(coils,wattage, airflow, etc). Using someone else's recipe is always just a starting point. I hope it works out! Keep me posted :)
Plunderdrum You are probably right, even though foods tastes good to me and I can still smell my 4 dogs' farts, lol. Some of my vape juices do taste a bit muted, like it is time to change the coils perhaps. I had the Omicron and hubby had the Delta and he is still suffering from lack of taste and smell. I will keep scraping my tongue and hope it is just my muted taste bunds. I will have to check on ELR to see if any new notes on the NF line has been added. Thank you for your help, you rock!
@Plunderdrum The date is now March 31. I revisited the Frosted Apple Gingersnaps today and oh my gosh, it is delicious! I think I needed the juices to steep a long time since my taste buds are shot from years of inhaling the stinkies. This is so darn good and many many thanks for making this!
