Could I use tpa vanilla custard for a vanilla swirl sub
#7 by robin, Mar 27. 2017, 15:45
@khowy77. I have never used tpa custard in this recipe . Im sure you could. I would start@ 2%. The flavor profile would change a bit but im sure it will still be good. Let me know how it turns out.
#8 by Khowy77, Mar 27. 2017, 23:54
Will do
#9 by Criss Trees, Mar 28. 2017, 17:50
Currently in the brew, today's test, well update on the results in a week of steep

Bavarian Cream (TPA) 2%
Dragonfruit (TPA) 8%
Vanilla Swirl (TPA) 4%
CC (Graham Crust) (TPA) 5%

Have made this several times - thanks - great simple recipe! Very tasty!
#11 by robin, Jul 27. 2017, 00:46
Im glad you like it @ DIY J
#12 by robin, Aug 4. 2017, 02:20
How did you like this one , with your changes @ Criss Trees ?
#13 by compclouds, Aug 7. 2017, 22:16
This is really good! The Vanilla Swirl and Bavarian Cream definately overpower the Dragonfruit though. Despite the Dragonfruit being at such a high percentage, it takes a backseat to the other flavors.
#14 by JustMe, Aug 8. 2017, 03:10
I thought 14% seemed a little high, so I tried 5% - perfect for my taste! Did a 2-hour hot water steep is all.
#15 by robin, Aug 8. 2017, 03:59
Ive since lowered the dragonfruit to 7% and the creams to 3 %. This was an early mix so the percentages are high because i was still smoking cigs. My taste buds have definitly changed over the years. I now mix at so much different.
#16 by guvna, Aug 8. 2017, 11:48
The 14% dragonfruit knocked my socks off. I will try the lower %'s you mention.
#17 by Dwarkelf, Oct 31. 2017, 10:45
Excellent receipt, thank you
#18 by Rphutch, Nov 3. 2017, 09:47
gonna mix this up. but i will be halving the dragonfruit. just seems like itd be harsh that high.
#19 by Rphutch, Nov 3. 2017, 09:47
oops just saw you already mentioned to lower it. my bad
#20 by KumariHPX, Dec 23. 2017, 00:14
DELICIOUS - perfect as is! THANK YOU

I started conservatively with DF at 10% and steeped for 3 weeks, but as noted the DF fades (from the creams, I believe). But I think thats kinda the point bc DF is tart and you want to round its sharpness, but not so much its totally muted. I love the taste of DF, as does EVERYONE!, so I want its flavor upfront rather than a buried accent. So kick up DF up tp 14% and enjoy!!
#21 by robin, Dec 23. 2017, 01:40
I'm glad you like it @KumariHPX. A few people I make this recipe for like DF between 11-14 % For me my taste buds have become so sensitive lately that i tend to mix at lower percentages. That's the beauty of DIY we can all tweak recipes as we see fit. :)
#22 by Philo, Dec 29. 2017, 02:59
can i replace vanilla swirl with vanilla custard and what will be the difference in taste ? plz excuse me i am still new in making DIY
#23 by robin, Feb 3. 2018, 14:50
Im sorry @Philo I just saw this. I've never tried it with vanilla custard. By all means, try it and let me know how it turns out. Depending on which custard you use, you may need to adjust the %
#24 by Philo, Feb 7. 2018, 05:39
well i first tried with 4% VC tpa but it was too much and muted the dragon fruit the only flavor i got was VC but the second round i tried 2% VC It was very nice and delicious good, sweet and calm taste of dragon dragon fruit with VC touch.. It tried and my friends they all like i
#25 by KumariHPX, Feb 12. 2018, 11:28
Just coming back after 2 mos. aging to say this really delish.. Creamy vape where the fruit blends in background and is unique. Mixed with 50:50 peach SF juice & will try others too. Thx for sharing!
#26 by Robin, Feb 16. 2018, 16:47
Wow! The vanilla and cream really come through on the exhale.
Thanks for the recipe!
#27 by robin, Feb 16. 2018, 19:53
Hello @ Robin. Cool name :) I'm glad you like it. In my most recent version, i added 1% Holy vanilla. I'll report back once it steeps.
#28 by 2mtech, Apr 14. 2018, 18:38
Made my first batch of this last weekend, was only able to restrain myself for six days before trying it, but wow, is it awesome! I don't share with some of the comments saying the dragonfruit was muffled, it came through sweet and clear for me, and the silky cream exhale was perfect. I bet it'll be better in another week, if there's anything left of the 30ml. Thanks!
#29 by robin, Apr 14. 2018, 22:18
Im glad you like it @ 2mtech, I may try this with 3% VC @ Philo. I only have cap as of right now but ill let you know how it turns out.
#30 by usul, Nov 22. 2018, 15:46

I choose this for my first DIY Juice and i'm glad i did.. a very smooth draw and lots of flavor... will try a bigger batch next time...
#34 by Oth72, May 25. 2019, 13:26
Dragonfruit TPA @14% real high for me since i read notes about its a falvor additive more than its a fruit from TPA . I never go higher 5% by any way so i did it here @4% and its real awesome. Thanks for ur great work
#35 by Lounge Lizard, Jul 20. 2019, 23:38
i never had any vanilla swirl so i subed with 1% shisha vanilla and 2% cream cheese icing and 1% milkshake base to add a touch more creaminess and its great creamy sweet with a nice sweet vanilla on the exhale but all through it is dragon fruit :)
#36 by HJQuinzel, Dec 13. 2019, 20:01
I have never tasted the original, but this recipe is a definite win. Thank you very much!
#37 by Hades, Jan 12. 2020, 15:29
Very not bad , just dragonfruit are too strong for me.(14%)
Im trying next batch with 7-8 %.

Thanks for discovery

Very good! Thanks for sharing!
#40 by Steve TC, Apr 24. 2021, 04:44
Robin, this is just delicious despite being based on 3 flavors. I cut the flavors of your recipe in half as you suggested and at a total flavor percentage of 10% this rocke. THank you for sharing!
#41 by Wolf O’hearn, May 9. 2023, 13:26
Be careful reading the recipe before mixing this one. There is a mistake in the flavor base, they are not pg based and it can ruin your mix if you not fix this
#42 by ms2k0, May 30, 11:20
Still good in 2024! My concentrates were a few years old, so I used the original full strength recipe mixed at 70/30 VG/PG.
