Made a lot of doughnut recipies and never quite worked, too spongy or light or plastic....and the more realistic ones, just not liked the fried dough flavourings out there.
So went a different route. Krispy Kremes are basically doughy cakes with a shed load of sweet butttercream on.
So though Ive used fa crispy doughnut and cap doughnut, lightened them with Zeppola which is a little cakes, but the real star of the show is Jungle Flavours Cake Batter which adds to the cake element, sprinkle element, sweetness and fullness of flavour ad the just added as much sweet sugary, buttercream, chocolaty flavours for the topping to make it a sweet doughnut. Its not your fried, sugary doughnut but tastes like a krispy kreme which works for me
