Notes
7/8/16 - This is the revised version, and thanks to CheebaSteeba for recommending FA Aurora. If you don't already have it on hand, mix it without it, then add it to your wish list when you find yourself seduced, which I think you will. It adds something really spectacular.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recommended Base: 70/30 VG/PG
Steep Time: 1 WEEK MINIMUM for the mint & absinthe to calm the hell down.

I really, REALLY can't explain what's going on here. I've never experienced a vape like this, and, while I have really odd tastes, I feel like this could be an ADV for more people than just me.

It's fruity, but, not in any way I can explain or define. It's a rich, dark, pulpy mash of berries tempered by the spicy, herbaceous touch of absinthe. No one particular berry stands out, and while I'm sure I could bring up the blackcurrant (and WANT to increase the raspberry), I'm actually hesitant to do so, because this already feels so perfectly balanced as it is.

The absinthe, cactus and mint all play in perfect harmony to cool, moisten and "mature" the berries, for lack of a better word. You don't taste the mint at all at these percentages, in fact. It's just the exact right amount needed to keep it all very fresh.

This is by no means a sticky-sweet fruit vape, and I'm finding it goes really well with cocktails. It's bold and complicated, yet doesn't blow out your tastebuds. Very interesting and refreshing.

I hope you love it as much as I do.

So I just got this mixed up, and it's pretty darn tasty!

At shake-n-vape stage I'm getting mostly the mint, but I assume that may calm down as it steeps. That stuff is surprisingly strong! I think the berry blend in here is really nice and there's just this subtle undertone of absinthe -- I really hope it becomes more noticeable after a steep. It's funny, I don't really notice the cactus but I can see it giving a more juicy aspect to the berries and lifting them up a bit.

Overall, so far I'm quite pleased with this; will be tough to let it steep. Congrats on making the first mint/menthol forward vape I've thoroughly enjoyed.

As a side note, I started switch vaping between The Glaistig and my FA Aurora tester to confirm my guess if it would work well in here, and from what I can tell it definitely does. If you make more cocktail mixes like this I think you would enjoy this flavoring.
I will be sure to provide additional notes after the recommended steep.

So after a steep the mint calms down quite a bit and is in a real nice spot instead of overwhelming me like pre-steep. The berries are a little more noticeable, but I'm still on a hunt for the absinthe a bit, possibly just because I like absinthe and want it to be more present =)

@CheebaSteeba: I cannot thank you enough for all your feedback, it's all been very helpful/encouraging.

I've made a couple of edits to the recipe (I sent you a reply with them in /r/DIY_eJuice/), which I will elaborate on once I've tested it!

Cheers!

Mixed up 9/7/16....this is awesome. I made this in particular to pair with a specific cocktail that my friend makes which is an aperol/grape/mint thing and they blend beautifully. This is a crazy recipe

@ENYAWREKLAW: Thanks so much for the comment, and I'm thrilled you liked it! I'm super intrigued about this cocktail, though! Specifically because I had originally paired this with my favorite drinks the Negroni, and the Boulevardier, which also feature'bitters (though in both cases, Campari). I've actually never tried Aperol, but I know it shares some similarities with Campari. Also, mmm, grape & mint. Any chance of a recipe? :-)

I mixed up a variation of this at 0nic.

Since I didn't have the Aurora or Mixed mint, I altered it to

Absinthe v2 5%
Black Currant 0.5%
Cactus 1.6%
Forest Mix 7%
Raspberry 0.3%

In the variant - as a shake and vape it's a bit like a fruit tea w/ Absinthe. Two separate distinct flavor - but they mixed well.

3 Day later - the flavor have blended nicely. I can't wait to try this with the mint and aurora!

A follow up - my god this is still delicious and could very well be an all-day every day vape for me.

Where can I find the mixed mint and aurora though?

@ShaneC #7: Thanks so much! I'm always so excited when someone tries my recipes, and even more thrilled when they end up liking them! You really made my day. :-D

I picked up both flavors at Bull City Flavors
INW Mix Mint: http://www.bullcityflavors.com/mix-mint-inw/
FA Aurora: http://www.bullcityflavors.com/aurora-fa/

But, Ecig Express has them both as well
INW Mix Mint: http://www.ecigexpress.com/diy-e-liquid/diy-e-liquid-flavors/inawera/fruit-and-sweet/mix-mint-by-inawera-10ml.html
FA Aurora: http://www.ecigexpress.com/diy-e-liquid/diy-e-liquid-flavors/flavourart-usa/flavourart-floral-flavors/aurora-by-flavourart.html

Hope that helps!

Also, if you like it now, you'll really love it once you add the INW Mix Mint. Once it steeps, it really doesn't add a mint taste, it just cools it off beautifully and gives it a nice, fresh zing.

Subbed fa black currant for tfa black currant and mixed mint for menthol, but its amazing.....Like black licorice jelly beans with a dark berry infusion.

I apologize in advance for subs. I don't think they butchered your recipe but it's only an educated guess at best. I just couldn't wait to mix this up with slight mods.

Anise (Star) (TPA) at .2% for same result without the 90% alcohol the Absinthe (TPA) contains.
Horehound at 1%, works to me just like you describe the Mix Mint in #8 but without needing the steep. I've used this combo for years and find this flavor compliments the Absinthe/Anise beautifully.
Inawera Black Current over the FA variant seems to work great but feel it is stronger so lowered it to .4%
I have Inawera's Raspberry Shisha and WG but no Malina lol. So I went with the Shisha at the same .25%
Lastly, 1% of FA Florida Key Lime in place of Aurora instead of just leaving it out for the time being.
ADV for sure! I must admit after mixing that recipe I now have goodies coming to make the grown up version and/or this true to original for comparison. I want to thank you(Steve also)for this rad twist to all my other fruity variations using Absinthe/Anise.
