I built the cake using Cap Gingerbread for the overall flavor and Pur Simply cake to add more body. Fa Custard Premium adds those delicious buttery bakery undertones and brings the cake together.
Normally, I would add a touch of caramel for a dark sweetness throughout. But here I increased the percentage and married it with Flv Salmiakki to make a convincing, sweet frosting. I haven't played with many licorice flavors over the years but Flavorah created a lovely, SWEET licorice flavor that didn't really "take over" the profile like others I've attempted to mix with. It also plays nicely with TFA Caramel (Original)
After several percentage adjustments I arrived at this final recipe. It takes a few days to really fill out the profile but it was decent off the shake. Just a touch of FW Sweetener goes a long way here as it is fairly sweet as is. I hope you enjoy it.
Many thanks to everyone who put this contest together and I can't wait to see what other mixers have created!! This takes me out of my comfort zone and I can say with confidence I would never have attempted this profile because I wouldn't have thought of it.
-tested on Entheon with a Hadeon cap with a .23 fused clapton at 45 watts
-best after 5 days imo
I’m usually not a licorice fan but really liked this, full and satisfying flavor, everything seems to work well together. This is probably the best use of Salmiakki I have ever tried.
Only nitpick is, for a contest I would have rather seen a steep time entered in the calculator rather than in the notes…
I tested this in the Dead Rabbit V2 RDA and in the FreeMaxMeshPro SubOhm tank, finished the 20ml tester. Great job on this one! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Leo my man!! I thought ooo this is interesting a gingerbread with some black licorice. It’s unconventional but hey it works. I was missing the frosting as I felt the anise note from the licorice blended into the gingerbread cake. Though I still enjoyed it. It’s a way better use of licorice than say a Yager Milkshake! LoL
