Yes, a TRIPLE Apple Threat is in play here. Granted FA's Apple Pie is mostly crust, it starts the apple base, followed with FLV's Apple Filling, and finished with the PUR Country Apple. I spiked the apples just a bit with some CAP Juicy Lemon as opposed to an Apricot, to give it a little more punch and acidity. I boosted the already delicious pie crust from the FA Apple Pie with a pinch of INW Biscuit. CAP Silverline Cinnamon Sugar for something a little different, paired with some FJ Ultimate Brown Sugar to add some depth, and warmth. WF's Crumble Topping, because, well, it's the CRUMBLE !!!!! Finishing it all off, not with a whipped cream, but LB's deliciously buttery rich VIC.
You could always add some sweetener, BUT, do you really need to ??
Ooooh yum! It's all about using a lemon accent for me. When I bake an apple pie I've always soaked my sliced up apples in a bowl of lemon juice for at least an hour. Always used brown sugar as well. I don't have the CAP Juicy Lemon, so I used FE Lemon .5%. All the flavors are so balanced. I found that 5 days was a good steep. Delicious! Nice one SessionDrummer.😋
Made this minus the Apple Pie from FA and just made up for it by increasing the other two apples. Shipped it to my mom, the apple freak, and she says it's good... can't taste any apple but can smell it. Damn. Those three apples must be the secret. Guess what's in my next order?Ooof. I'll update when I can do it right.
