I never really got along with Root Beer flavors, until recently. My friend sent me his Barrel Candy recipe and I loved it so much I now have 200mls of it. I was joking around saying, I'm gonna put it on my pancakes! That's when it hit me. Root Beer Float Pancakes!
So I've had 30mls of MF Root Beer just laying around and really wanted to find a use for it. That was where I started, along with LB Vanilla Ice Cream, which honestly works together as a simple 2 banger Root Beer Float. But then came building out a pancake base.
WF Pancake, FW Waffle Cone and Simply Cake make up the bulk of the Pancake Base. I then got an idea to add just a small amount of Powdered Donut. I thought it could contribute towards the Pancake base, but also brings that nice Powdered sugar note.
Butter cream made sense to me with the thought that with the Powdered sugar could possibly blend with my Root Beer and ice cream to create a thick Root Beer Float syrup type of topping.
Off the shake I was actually shocked at how immediately tasty it was, But it needed more root beer. I was only getting a slight bit of it on the exhale. Even though MF flavors grow with a steep, my bakery layer would continue to develop as well and I didn't want to completely lose my root beer notes. So I bumped it with just 1% of Root Beer Gummy Candy. I figure it would also add to the Root Beer Float layer being more of a syrupy topping.
The result is surprisingly delicious!! I get a mild bakery sitting underneath a fantastic Root Beer Float that actually has the feel of a foamy exhale and lingering Root Beer and powered sugar! By day 3 the bakery layer starts to become a bit more prominent underneath, but that foamy sensation really stands out. I think I even start to feel some additional fizz in that foamy finish by day 4. Simply Cake and LB VIC are longer steepers as well so the entire picture isn't fully developed until like 10 days. Idk if its spot on Pancake, but its close. Certainly smells like Pancakes and the Root Beer Float aspect of this is amazing right from the shake!
