For the ELR February Mix, we were tasked with creating a root beer float. FYI, this was a flavor I absolutely LOVED as a child, but now unfortunately not so much. This is my fourth variation of this mix, and the only one that tastes like I imagined it to. It's a very special combination of flavors, so if you do not like root beer (like me), or cherry, then this mix is not for you. The hardest part of this mix was creating the balance. My first few versions were completely off, but this one managed to have the root beer and float-y-ness sit side-by-side. Finally, I added cherry because I'm recently on a big cherry flavor kick, and these cherries seemed the perfect ones for a float, but unfortunately after a steep you will only get a hint of cherry. More like having a maraschino cherry on top of the whipped cream, but not pouring any of the syrup into the float. If you are feeling adventurous, and what I wrote seems appetizing, then please mix this up, and please let me know what you think.
This looks really good and I have all the flavours. I've just used the same cherry combo in a recipe, (really good together).
