This is a mix coming to me from my military days. I was living in Germany awaiting the movers to pack my room and realized, this would be more fun with a drink. All I had in the fridge was cranberry juice to mix with and Captain Morgan. When I came back stateside I ordered this at a bar where the bartender introduced the lime aspect, changing the flavor of the drink entirely. To this day it’s my go to cocktail. I’ll update this as I continue my mixing journey.
Day 1:
Cantaloupe is heavily present. I have never mixed with it before so I started af a half % hoping it wouldn’t be over powering, it kind of took over. Hoping that will mellow out with time. Not getting too much cranberry (unless my buds are off). The rum note I am looking for, isn’t there. I usually mix the cocktail version of this liquid at 50/50 cranberry to rum, I might need another rum, or even to lift the rum in this higher.
Day 11 - I apologize for not keeping up with the notes on this. This mix is pretty good. Tbh, the “alcohol” bite, isn’t there. I’ve been informed by the AAFL crew to look in to Light Rum to boost that. The cranberry is the forward note, juicy and tart with a nice smooth cranberry lime exhale. Not a ton of vanilla coming through the mix. Once I have the new ingredients I’ll come back to this. Still vaping it and enjoying the flavor I am currently getting, just not that Cranberry Rum drink I’m trying to mimic. The cantaloupe did mellow out and I left it at .5%. Gave it the juicy note I was looking for.
