At least a 7 day steep required, but 14 is preferred. If you shake and vape this, it WILL blow your face off. No joke.

Yes, this is a lot of cherry. And yes, this is a lot of chocolate, BUT it was necessary to get the unmistakable taste that is a Black Forest cherry cake. I do not have a cherry liqueur flavor, or any alcohol flavor, so I had to make do with what I had.

Chocolate Deutsch is the star of the show. It's a darker German chocolate cake mix, very similar in taste to what I would find here in the supermarket from the brand Dr. Oetker. MB CSC and SSA Chocolate Mousse are to add a bit more depth to the chocolate deutsch. The mousse has a wonderful fluffiness to it, as does the CSC. Together with the FLV CD, they're a match made in chocolate cake heaven.

My original choice of INW - Cherries, and SSA - Ripe Cherry didn't cut it here. The INW couldn't hold its own against the chocolates, and got buried every time. I went as high as 3%. So I got all the SSA cherries, and played around a lot. I ended up using Compote Cherry, Ripe Cherry, AND Juicy Cherries. I know it seems like a lot, but I wanted this version to hold up to a longer steep, and so it does. The cherries and the chocolates do their thing, and after a week or so, it actually tastes like there is cherry liqueur and sour cherries in here.

Finally, TPA Bavarian Cream and SSA Creme de la Creme for the cream layer that ties everything together and rounds everything out. This wouldn't be a Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte without it.
