I’ve taken a panna cotta recipe from The Mixers Almanac-
Vanilla bean ice cream
Creme de La Creme
Snow Cream
To that I’ve added my liquor notes.
MB JD whiskey is a fabulous addition to desserts. At 2% this will give the panna cotta base a nice smokey dark whiskey-ISH flavor without a lot of booze bite. To accompany that, I added a dollop of whisky cream, which does have the whisky experience along with a balanced and neutral cream. Smoked butterscotch low is adding a slight woodsy taste to accentuate the whisky. I’ve added a bakery note of spiced cookie to separate some of the creams, also adding the spice of a speculoos.
If you read this far, most of you know I’m not a fan of vaping alcoholic mixes, but this is a decent show of how you can incorporate slight booze notes to a dessert and have them pleasing to your pallet.
7 day minimum but 14 is better
Oh, I think you did a bang up job on this, Lynda. If you don't win this month I'll be surprised. There are many desserts that utilize liquors and you captured this wonderfully. Is JD Whiskey available anymore? I've looked for it with little success.
@muth Thank you! Try DIYVS…they carry some MB you can’t get anywhere else. It’s such a great flavor! I got it in a pack of flavors someone sent to me when they were purging their stash. This is definitely a rich decadent dessert for sure, very filling and saturated. I appreciate the comment :)
