Notes

Alright, what a story there is with this one. I have a client who loves, loves, LOVES Vanilla, Malt, and Milkshakes. I already made him up a few, BUT, I went with my normal go to, LB Vanilla Ice Cream as the base. Now I don't know how, but he wasn't a fan. Ok, ok, back to the drawing board. I had previously used some TPA Malted Milk, and fairly lightly, so THIS TIME, I ran the base using CAP's actually very good Milkshake, and supplemented it with Sobucky's clean Ice Cream Vanilla. Then the next layer was a combo of Wonder Flavors French Vanilla Thick, along with some FA Madagascar, to (duh), try to enhance the thickness, and boost and add dimension to the Vanillas. And finally, the one and only TRUE Malt from Nature's Flavors. I added a few drops of Flavorah's Sweet Coconut as an enhancer. The PUR Sweetener is always optional.

The (LOL) hardest part was to try and decide WHERE to put the WF French Vanilla Thick in the mix. I didn't want it anywhere near a full on French Vanilla, but to stay as a cleaner Vanilla Malted Milkshake.

So far, it's been a winner winner chicken dinner. 1.5 weeks steep for optimal smooth and blending. Still coming in UNDER 9%. Maybe I should have just added the 0.2% whipped cream I was thinking about, and moving it up to an even 9% LOL.

Get your creamy malted, layered vanilla shake on people !!!!

And, as an added bonus, just in case anyone was wondering .........

DIYVS has turned into a total shit show as of late, and that's a REAL shame, as they really had some unique offerings no one else carried, BUT, recent stories of non-shipment, and no-contact have left me NOT wanting to business with them right now.

I mixed this one at a higher than normal VG @ 85%, but you can choose whatever ratio suits you best.

Very nicely done! It’s a shame that the TPA Malted Milk didn’t work in this, but understandable it would take away from the brighter vanilla notes. Do you get any sign of the coconut from sweet coconut or does it get buried under the vanillas?

@McDuckie, I might try a branch and drop the NF Malt down to 1%, and add in 0.5% TPA Malted Milk just to see. I can't remember who it was, but I think it was @Woftam, who was using small amounts of FLV Sweet Coconut not for the coconut but an added creamy-ness and mouthfeel.
