Today is pancake day, also known as, “Shrove Tuesday.” This was traditionally a time of fasting. Shrove Tuesday was the last day to “indulge,” before a 40 day fast began on “Ash Wednesday.”

Legend says that it all started when a woman heard the shriving bell calling people to church on Shrove Tuesday while she was making pancakes.

This is my traditional crepe style pancake, topped with sugar and Lemon juice, a classic.
