Black Forest gateau (Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte) is a classic German chocolate layer cake featuring chocolate sponge, whipped cream, and cherries, traditionally flavored with Kirsch (cherry liqueur). It's made with layers of chocolate cake soaked in Kirsch, filled with whipped cream and sour cherries, and decorated with more whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and fresh cherries. The cake is known for its rich, moist texture and balance of chocolate, cream, and tart cherry flavors.
I'm actually making this cake for my youngest son in a couple days. I was looking at recipes and decided it would also make a great vape juice. Instead of cherry liqueur, I'm using Black Cherry (Flavorah) because it has a complex, dark cherry liqueur type taste.
I'm using some Malted Milk (TPA) to mimic the flour of the cake base since I don't own any actual 'cake' ingredients. It’s worked out great before. It adds a baked heaviness and mouthfeel. It helps ground the chocolate so it feels more like a solid chocolate cake and less like a chocolate syrup.
