This recipe benefits from added PG I'm not exactly sure why because I'm not a chemist but there is a difference when I made it max VG. Steep time is minimum 2 weeks.
Mixed a 15ml, I used 4% banana cream LA, instead of 5% TPA, and had to skip Rice Crunchies, but at 0.5% it shouldn't make a huge difference. I'll let it steep 2 weeks though and hopefully I'll remember to post back. Thanks
Very Nice! .. .. just made 100ml of this, lowered the nic to 2mg because I have a feeling I will be vaping a lot of this :) thank you .. for your effort and sharing it :)
never had the original but this is awesome banana/cinnamon/cream/custard. found a brown bottle that i was buying VG in and saw something written on the label but wasn't very clear and took me a few hours to decipher it.... DERAILED! fucking derailed alright.... for about 2 months haha
I must say I had my reservations about this just because half the time when a recipe says spot on or exact it seldom is. I like this a lot. It's close enough that I can't tell the difference, and I used to vape nothing but suicide bunny. This goes in my rotation for sure. Thanks very much
woohoo thanks Mytsly it's awesome to hear someone that has tried it vaped a lot of it that rates it "Close enough" because when we recreate something without the actual recipe that's actually the best we can hope for. 😊 I'm glad you like it.
I have not mixed it yet... But it looks pretty spot on honestly. Now i dont like the cinnamon Danish swirl from Capella at all. So i know for a fact that ingredient is correct. So is the TPA/TFA Banana Cream.
Because of this, i am not so much a fan of derailed (The original one that is). But i will say this. The flavor profile of derailed, can very much turn out super awesome if tweaked. Now this is how i would make if for my liking. (Just in case there are others that dont like Capella cinnamon Danish swirl)
Your cloning attempt is more accurate to the original derailed. But i like this one below just a litlle better, simply because of the cinnamon Danish flavor from TPA ;)
I am sitting With the original bottle NeXT to me here now, so ill mix up a batch, just for fun to check and see how Close you have come :) But by the looks of it, this looks pretty spot on...
BFtw, if you add a low % of ethtyl maltol and super sweetner to the mix, wich i did.you will bring out the banana cream just a litlle more. It makes it even more awesome. You can do this in the original one as well. It actually iproves the original juice honestly.
I am using my own sweetner mix. Wich is 5% ethyl maltol & 5% Super sweetner, that has been deluted in PG. This way its almost the same prrincipal as TFA sweetner. Should try this in the original juice as well as the clone attempt.
I've never tried derailed the original but this is delicious and has become an ADV. Great mix, only alterations were that I used DX Banana Cream 3% instead of banana cream std. and Vanilla custard from Capella instead of TPA.
I really like this one, I had to sub the Danish with the TPA DX version, the Butterscotch with the TPA DX version but it is absolutely fabulous. Warm, mellow and the banana comes through pleasently and not obnoxius.
Excellent mix! Thanks for sharing and I really enjoy this one.
very good after 2 week steep will make more and steep longer but as it is its perfect and everything works so nicely together in this.
I'm Glad you enjoyed it Stavanger Ghost. I'm thinking your little trick with EM might also tone down the cinnamon metallic note from Cap CDS but I've not tried that yet. With that said if you steep it a little longer than 3 weeks I find the metallic note goes away and I also find that there is no sub in this for Cap CDS if I wanted to get as close as possible to the original...so it is what it is. :) however TFA would be smoother and less metallic all together.
@TheJuiceFairy I loved your reviewer guys! They went into some serious detail about flavor profile, which I appreciated. I'm picking up the stuff I need to whip this one up my next flavor grab. So excited to try this one out. And Stavanger Ghost, I'm a total CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl junkie... that standalone has been in my rotation for years. I'll definitely try adding tiny bit of circus cotton candy to my next batch, vape side by side with an older one, and see if there's a noticeable difference to my palate. And now I've gotta buy the TFA one to compare. lol I'll be back once I try Derailed Remixed.... though I'm not promising I'll be able to wait thru the steep to taste test it. ;)
@OddModicum lol the reviews are very detailed aren’t they. Lol. I’m just glad that they left feedback so other people would know what to expect. I hope you enjoy it when you make it.
This is amazing after 14 days the cinnamon danish swirl mellows out and its totally my new favourite mix big batch coming up thank you @ThejuiceFairy 🤘😀🤘
I have to admit that I was a little skeptical about this one at first, but I gathered up the ingredients for this let it sit right after I made it. came back a week later it really surprised me. I've had the original and I can tell this is way better. the only thing different I used was (LA)banana cream it came out very nice I'm defiantly goin to be making a bigger batch after this. thanks for this wonderful recipe.
I can’t recall if I ever had Derailed way back when. I feel like I must have had at least had a tester or two. No matter, cos this looks badass and I’m mixing 100mls of this tonight and will report back in a month’s time
Cant wait for the weather to turn colder. Ive seasonal vaped this recipe from mid late October to Christmas for like 5 years. Some people look forward to pumpkin spice things, I look forward to snickerdoodle time. Mix some up you wont regret it! Haha I also do the same thing for summertime with the Madrina clone.
