It could be. I've never liked FW Cheesecake myself. A little "footy" smelling. For me, CAP NY Cheesecake has been the only one I like in this recipe. I've tried the cheesecakes from TFA, FW, and LA. It just feels like NY cheesecake sort of....binds?...to the Sweet Strawberry perfectly for this. I've also recently tried adding 1% TFA Dairy to this, and it didn't turn out great. It seems like any slight percentage change I've made hasn't turned out quite as good.
@NotCharlesManson
It might be that. But I just tried it again in dripper and a plasic chemical taste is coming out. MIght it be the CAP Vanilla Custard V2 that didn't steeped enough?
Hmm..I've had luck an hour after a hot bath with no plastic taste. Maybe try dropping the cream fresh by half a percent? Then again, it might just be personal taste, unfortunately.
I like it! The slight lemony aspect of FA custard comes through after a couple weeks steeping. I don't think it's what Cuttwood is using, but I like the hint of it in my recipe.
Woo! Glad you like it. I wasn't setting out to make a clone, but it happened to taste almost exactly like Unicorn Milk to me, that I might as well market it as such. Actual Unicorn Milk has less of a custard taste than this, but that's one thing I love about this recipe. Anyway..thanks for the good feedback!
Hmm...if you have them, I might try maybe 1% TFA Sweet Cream and 1% TFA Marshmallow in place of the 1.5% Cream Fresh. It won't be the same, and I haven't tried that, but it might do. I haven't used CAP Lemon Meringue Pie, so I can't say for sure. The Meringue isn't super prominent in this mix, but it definitely helps hold everything together, and I would suggest getting some anyway. It's one of my favorites!
This is absolutely delicious, shake-and-vaped. I don't know what the real UM tastes like, but this really is good. My will-power will be tested on the next 30ml cure. Thank-you for sharing, NotCharlesManson!!
After a week of steeping this is really good...I made 12 different recipes in 30ml bottles and I have 3 empty 250ml bottle im gonna choice 3 of the 12 recipes to make 250ml bottles of and this is one of my choices.
No problem NotCharlesManson I also have your cinnamon toast crunch as one of my 12 also I like it but think im gonna up the flavor a bit I like the flavor but not strong enough for me.
Only got round to making this today. Ran out of sweet strawberry so just used the FA strawberry I have.I really like it.. Great flavour that's really capable of being an ADV. I don't know how it wil ldevelop when steeping. Thanks for the recipe NotCharlesManson
I've been vaping on this recipe for a month now and have made over 250ml of it. This juice is great but even better after a week or two of steeping. I found the flavor percentage to be a little high so i lowered it down to around 15%. I dropped the Strawberry to 6% and the custards to 2% and the Cheesecake down to 1%. This was my first recipe that got me into DIY and i'm glad i came across it. Thanks for sharing.
Hmm...you MIGHT be able to get away with replacing the 3% FA Custard with 2% CAP VC V2 and .5% CAP Lemon Meringue Pie, but be warned that it won't be the same at all. FA Custard has a hint of lemon/citrus in it, sort of hiding behind a dark pudding taste. While I don't think that substitution will take its place at all, it won't taste terrible. I haven't really found a better sub for FA Custard.
You might have better luck asking the guys in /r/DIY_ejuice on reddit. I would try asking thirdworldorder, returnity, botboy141, daath (Lars on here), or fizzmustard.
A little update, I made 250ml and started using it after 2 days. It was good from the beginning, but really great after about 10 days. Definitely need to make more, just out of cap strawberry. I'll be placing an order soon. Has anyone tried other strawberry flavors? I have tfa regular and ripe, as well as inerwa shish.
I don't think Ripe would be as good. It has a lot of maltol in the flavoring already, and it may be overwhelming along with everything else, making it seem dull. TFA Strawberry might be a good contender, but I haven't experimented with it in this recipe. I haven't tried INW Shisha, so I wouldn't be of any help with that. Out of those, I say try TFA Strawberry at around 4-6%.
Made this exact recipe. After a week of steeping and at 460F all I taste is the Graham Cracker. It caught me by surprise when I first tried it, as I didn't remember what actually went into the recipe. After revisiting, it's definitely the Graham Cracker. Does additional steeping help calm it down a little, I'm hardly tasting the strawberry.
I'm also having the problem KeggsNA described. Been steeping a week and it just tastes like a strawberry flavored Graham cracker. How long does it take for the creamy notes to come out?
Left a bottle in my car in the hot sun for a couple hours and it tasted phenomenal. Turns out a little heat brought out the creamier notes a little more.
All I have in the way of cheesecake is TFA Cheesecake (graham crust), and I only have TFA Vanilla Custard. The rest of the ingredients I do have. Any recommendations for subbing these?
I would say try 1% TFA Cheesecake GC. I've never used TFA VC, so I can't really give an opinion on that. I would just try it at 3% and see how it goes. Or maybe make a few 10ml bottles with 2%, 3%, and 4% to see which one you like best.
Thanks for this one notcharlesmanson. I just realized that this was your recipe. Diy-ejuice the store where I get all my gear had print outs of recipes and I made this before off the sheet they gave me without knowing it was yours lol! I'd have to say it's my all time favourite juice and I have anothet 120ml with .5% raspberry brewing. Can't wait.
Hi NCM, and thanks for the recipe share, was going to try this soon, only one i'm missing is Graham Cracker v1 (CAP), would it be wise to up the NY cheesecake to 2% as a work around?
Oh I also don't have CAP sweet strawberry, can you recommend an alternative percentage for TFA strawberry and or strawberry ripe? I'm pretty new to mixing but would hazard a guess about 5% Ripe and 3% strawberry, sound about right?
duper good! bright strawberry (with almost unnoticeable citrus zing) a hint of cinnamon, cream (strong but not sour), then a medium amount of custard. not too sweet for my taste, well rounded and balanced recipie. used TFA graham instead of CAP's cause i didn't want the extra cinnamon it brings. covers 8mg of Nic quite well. keep up the nice work and i look forward to your next recipie!!!
I give this 3 week's to steep and put in a fresh coil and was honestly very disappointed. the custard or meringue over powers the strawberry imo it's nothing like the unicorn recipe that gets high ratings...with all due respect probably the worst recipe I made to date...I won't rate this out of respect because I know you share great recipes
This isn't a great recipe at all. Very disappointed. Tried as a SNV and after 1 and 3 weeks steep. Gets worse the longer it steeps. I'll stick with Mother's Unicorn Milk by Alisa.
Lol to each their own @ProablyRaging. I personally love it. I’ve made most unicorn milk recipes that are online and this is the only one that I’ve made over 5000 mL in the last year and a half. Great recipe!
@probablyraging You sound like an ignorant, entitled little child. Funny thing is, I’m willing to bet you would think twice about making such an a-hole comment if you weren’t hiding behind a computer screen. They wouldn’t have stated their opinion in such as if it’s a fact (“this isn’t a great recipe at all”). You’re either a spoiled little child OR an ignorant adult...or both. Next time you don’t like a recipe just move onto the next one. Pretty simple. All you accomplish by commenting the way you did is A) looking like a douche to everyone and B) making amazing contributors to the DIY community like NCM not want to share their recipes with the public.
Wow @4 rings of fury, did I make you angry? This is a comment section where people leave their reviews. I left my review and apparently you got a little butt hurt, for a reason I'm not sure of. In my opinion, this recipe is garbage, it tastes like fermented fruit to me and people who have the same palette as I do will agree.
My comment/review allows people with a like minded taste sense to think "oh if he doesn't like the same tastes I don't like, then maybe I should look at what he has reviewed as a good taste because maybe I'll like that aswell."
In short, stop being a sensitive little snowflake and stop thinking you can police the internet. You're a nobody in the scale of the vape community, just like alot of the other people who commented here, including myself.
unicorn milk is still one of my favorites... and even though its one of my favorites, there are little things that I would do to that to make it more perfect for my taste.
I really like this clone version, but there are a few things that I may change... not because I don't like it.. but just for the hell of it... I am going to change the Caps NY CC with LB strawberry cc. Use FW gram cracker instead of caps... And I am going to change strawberries... I will try VT strawberry jam, with a different strawberry. Or maybe OSDIY succulent strawberry (waiting for it to get here) I never tried that one but heard some great things about it.
Unicorn milk was the first e-juice I've ever bought the day I started vaping 4 years ago Now That I Found DIY I'll never buy another bottle of juice again
