This version made: April 17, 2017/Edited May 2022 (Changed Marshmallow to OOO Marshmallow Vanilla, increased Caramel Toffee, slight increase to AP, removed FA Cream, added OOO Powdered Sugar, decrease FA Caramel. (Using Cereal 27 to replace AP has also been good, but later bottles of Crack Pie have increased AP in them, more than the formula from 2014-2017)

*Used Dannick's recipe on Le DIY Pour Les Nuls as a starting point, then some changes to his recipe on ELR. After a year of different flavors, I have finally gotten this as close as it can be. *

I know the percentages need to be tweaked, but Speckled Flakes (OOO) is the main proponent of the actual recipe, and Hangsen Caramel Toffee is the Caramel used in actual recipe. It has taken so long to figure out the condensed Caramel flavor, and I have been through a year of testing caramels to find it. This recipe is the absolute closest version, and couldn't have been done without Dannick (now Frosty) realizing that Speckled Flakes was the base flavor, his recipes were invaluable to figuring out further flavors so I have to recognize his efforts to make this clone. I'm not convinced the real version uses Salted Caramel, the flavors differ wildly than the rich and milky, condensed flavor that the original has. Saline gives the salty aspect without changing the base flavor.

The Hangsen Caramel Toffee is like a sweet, condensed milk type Caramel and a very unique flavor, not like any other Caramel that I have bought to date. There is a mallowy flavor I have yet to fully nail down, so for now I am using Marshmallow. This is the closest version of Crack Pie I have made or found to date, and I will keep on trying to perfect it further. Had to add AP and Saline in drops in differing amounts over time to get it right, so I have not added them as percentages. I ordered Caramel Toffee on a whim, and have made so many recipes with it lately as it really makes tobacco flavors pop as well.

You can add 0.50% Powdered Sugar (OOO) to make this more authentic, as its one of the listed flavors for Crack Pie, and it does taste much closer to authentic Crack Pie, but it is not really necessary. I have found that as long as the base flavors are correct for Crack Pie, it's still a flavorful yum-fest. The Powdered Sugar does give it that extra boost of sweetness and mouthfeel though. Up to you!
