FA RY4 has a cleaner taste IMO, I sometimes get a chemical, scotch tape-like taste from TFA's RY4D.
5% CDS can be a bit much sometimes, it's more balanced at 4%.
2% Cap Vanilla Custard (v1) is nice to fill it out and smooth some harsh edges.
1% of FA Joy adds some yeast and sugar that is perfect in this recipe.
Pretty much shake & vape, but I like to give everything at least 3 days. Improves slightly with a long steep, nothing major. Sweetener not needed and vapes pretty clean, but hey, add some if you like.
Never tried the real DS before; nor have I ever made a clone of it. But, I read DS is very very similar to Uncle Junk's Jon Wayne..which is one of my top favorite juices. So I def have to try these clone recipes out.
Going to mix this recipe up and also Lost Vapez' new recipe (e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/177230/Deadly+Sin). To me, these 2 recipes appear to be the best balanced, with attractive flavors; so, I'll give them a mix.
TFA RY4D is a suitable sub. Same percentage. They're near identical, I just sometimes get an off taste with TFA's that I don't get with FA.
TFA Butterscotch might be ok, but it won't be the same.
There's not really a substitute for Joy, but omitting it shouldn't be a huge deal. 0.5% EM might give you some of the sugar. There's already a bit of yeast in the CDS, The Joy just enhances it.
Thanks for the info kriga. I'll make a batch pronto - omitting the Joy and using RY4D and TFA Butterscotch.
Which do you think would work better for this recipe - EM or Sweetener? Or would they be pretty much very similar? I'll prolly use one or the other, for simplicity. Probably Sweetener huh? (since your original V1 recipe uses Sweetener as well)
Actual DS does have sweetener in it, I just stopped using it once I added Joy. If you want that lingering, sweet-on-the-lips feeling, go ahead and add some. EM will get you some sugar flavor without actual sweetness. So yeah, if it's one or the other, I'd probably go sweetener.
Just made this with the following subs and changes:
Butterscotch TFA, same 5%
Joy FA, none 0%
RY4D TFA, same 5%
Sweetener TFA, 0.5%
Everything else (CDS & VC) is same and unchanged.
I love Kriga's V2 recipe (I didn't try V1 though).
My brother was vaping a bottle of real Sugar Drizzle when I first tested the V2 batch (after a good 2 week steep). And, coincidentally, Kriga's V2 tasted very very similar, if not better and more flavorful, than the real Sugar Drizzle. I wasn't expecting that (I wasn't even planning to do any comparisons; but, the Sugar Drizzle was around during my testing and it tasted similar).
Kriga you did it again! I practically never use Joy when it's called for in a recipe because I can always pick it out in a mix and it tastes unpleasant to me, but it just works in here. I love this just as much (if not better) as your v1. As with the v1 this is a vast step above Deadly Sin itself, of which I have vaped plenty, much smoother and the flavor is just perfectly blended with no harsh edges. This recipe is practically a miracle after a month long steep. Thanks so much for sharing this amazing recipe. I'll never have to buy Deadly Sin again when I can make something better on my own thanks to you.
One of the first S&V recipes that's perfect for my morning coffee vape. I subbed FW Butterscotch Ripple and RY4 Double. It's delicious! Now I have a recipe to use up my 30mL purchase of CDS. Thanks!
Mixed this up using the (TPA) Ry4 and am very much enjoying this vape. Never have tried the original and honestly don't feel a need to as this is a very well balanced and blended recipe! Top shelf stuff! 5 stars all the way!
This is awesome. I had to use FW butterscotch natural as opposed to butterscotch. I love the way it plays with the cds and the ry4. It is a pleasant and smooth mix. Thanks for sharing it.
You nailed it kriga. This is spot on. I have been vaping deadly sin for nearly 6 years, so you will save me a lot of money. Can't thank you enough my friend
Alright, made this exactly according to the recipe and as a S&V its....good. Its not Deadly Sin but it definitely sometimes taste as deadly sin. I first gobbled down a 120ml bottle of Deadly Sin and afterwards i emediatly made this so my taste buds do remember DS quite good. There are moments this tastes exactly like DS and BOOM it suddenly changes to Sugar Drizzle. Its the cinnamon, which is sometimes too overpowering, you only taste it slightly in DS while here it tastes as the main tone, with Butterscotch following it and im guessing Joy at the end. I do think this is VERY close to the original DS recipe and im quite certain Butterscotch and CDS are also the main ingredients.
I am going to let the rest steep for 2 weeks and see if that lowers down the CDS notes. For now i feel if i am going to make this again, im going for 3% CDS while letting the rest stay the same. Hopefully it reduces the sometimes overwelming cinnamon flavor.
Butterscotch TFA substitute work?
Lastly..I don't have Joy FA. What can I sub in instead of using Joy? Would EM or Sweetener work instead of Joy? If yes, at what %?
Any help appreciated. Thx
