cut it all in half and I bet you it will be better. less is more in diy. and with the % that high it will most likely mute as it steeps. try it in a 5 ml first and try it AFTER it steeps. everything gets better with time IF its done right. good luck and have fun man.

Thanks Vapekitten :-). I think it seems high too so I'll try a few more alterations. I mostly wonder about the necessity of ALL the ingredients. I might give myself a week or so before going back and trying a few at lower percentages and with different flavor omissions. I am curious to see how steeping affects this particular mix though.

What I was saying is take this recipe and cut all the % in half and try it. It will prob taste better than it does now.

I don't feel most of the percentages are too high really. I've tried about thirty variations at all different levels. There are just a lot of ingredients and the cereals always taste muted to me at the lower levels. I believe that is the primary reason the total percentage is as high as it is. I'm wondering about the vanilla custard mostly. I have a hard time tasting it in any recipe that hasn't steeped for at least three weeks so I'm not sure if it's my imagination or not that that the batch I made with it included tastes better.

Ok bud. Do it how you like but when I first started I was mixing everything at 20-30% and then a guy told me to cut one of my recipes in half and I did and it was way better and way stronger of a flavor. I know it don't make any sense but it's worth a 5 ml try to figure it out. All I'm sayin.

I'll give it a try. It definitely won't hurt anything, and if you're right it's saving me cash in the long run. I've heard that same thought about general recipe composition from a lot of very seasoned mixers so I have no doubt that there is a lot of truth to it. I'm skeptical with this recipe but I won't knock until I've tried it. I'll let you know.

I've been searching for a good Crispy Treat flavor as I too was hooked on Ethos's version. I stumbled upon this recipe.

First, I thought the same thing, flavoring was too high, so I made 3 variations of this recipe. 1 - As is. 2 - 25% less flavoring and 3 - 50% less. I also subbed FA Marshmallow for CAP and added .5% of FA Joy, to give it that slight body I remember from the actual dessert.

All flavors were spun on a heated magnetic mixer for 8 hours and steeped for a week. All were dripped on a set of 24/40 Claptons in a DotMod Petri 2. Results are as follows:

3 The 50% Mix - Was weaker than it should be. Compared to Ethos, it was far too weak and lacked body. Very light.

2 The 75% Mix - Good overall! Good flavor, not too strong and close, but still weaker than Ethos and not nearly as sweet.

1 The 100% Mix - PURE SUCCESS: Believe it or not, the % while seemingly high, work with this recipe. I was blown away from the flavor and when compared to Ethos, was nearly spot on. Ethos is a little sweeter. But then again, it is a coil killer. I am dripping this daily and people are obsessed with the recipe.

In closing, props for trying such a bold recipe and even more so figuring out it. My new ADV. Thanks again @napan

I've gotten the majority of the recipes I vape often off this site, so I'm stoked to hear I've been able to give back something people like. I also seriously appreciate you taking the time to try the different breakdowns. I was planning on tackling that this week but I think I'll focus on a couple more specific tweaks instead. I'm thinking the recipe might benefit from a little more sweetness as well so I'm going to start with that. Cheers!

Hey guys, I'm excited to try your versions sometime soon! I have five new variations of mine and Vapekitten's recipe steeping right now though, so it might be a couple of weeks. I've decided I want to see all the ways the different ingredients are playing into the recipe. I also picked up a bottle of the Ethos version yesterday and I broke in two crown coils and filled two separate tanks, one with my original recipe and one with Ethos, to see the differences. The recipes are definitely different in certain ways. Like Cloudy Cowboy said, Ethos definitely has some kind of sweetener. It sort of catches the back of your throat it's so sweet. Though it's too much for me I know some like that. I've been vaping my original recipe and it is, for me, just sweet enough. Though I love the recipe I've come up with I feel their recipe beats mine in one area for sure. Their recipe has a wonderful marshmallow flavor and to me that is the dominant taste. I want that flavor profile in my updated recipe for sure. The texture of their marshmallow is phenomenal as well. It is, to me, what drives the rice crispy treat flavor home. It's sort of gooey. I like that about it a lot. My recipe is more of a buttery rice crispy treat with marshmallow accents. It's definitely good but it clearly could still be improved. I think the Ethos recipe could be improved too though. By bringing out a bit more of a cereal and butter flavor I think their vape would seem more like an actual rice crispy treat than a delicious marshmallowy flavor. I'm definitely not giving up until I feel I've got something along those lines and I know I'll figure it out sooner or later. Thanks so much for all the input again everyone!

I'm super curious about the Acetyl Pyrazine in the recipe. It sounds like a great way to get the grainy cereal taste without so much of the cereal flavoring.

@xXxLEONIDASxXx, unfortunately golden butter is one of the most important ingredients for this particular recipe. It really contributes a lot to the mouthfeel of the vape. It's a very useful flavor to have in my opinion. Definitely worth putting on your ingredient list. It's great for a few different types of bakery vapes. I've heard good things about Flavor Art's butter as well. I think they're probably similar. But that's the only substitution that comes to mind.

Very Nice! Mixed this up just as prescribed :) I was a little hesitant with the Vanilla Custard because I've been using that a lot lately and everything I put it in starts tasting the same to me.. but it blended in nicely.. I might try a little more Cereal 27 for a little more crunch and a tad bit of sweetener.. It's great just the way it is but would like to see where that takes it.. Thanks again for sharing, I'll be making this often!

Hey, thanks so much Charlie :-). Let me know how the alterations go. I'm actually working on a new version of this recipe right now. I'll post in a week or two. I had a chance to try @vapekitten's mix and it's really solid. I think for those on here who are fans of the Ethos mix they might like his better. I also wanted to mention one more thing. Over the past month I've been consumed by a desire to make individual testers of every flavor I own. In the process I'm pretty sure I stumbled across the secret ingredient in Ethos's mix that gives it its distinct flavor profile. I want to do a little more testing before I post it but I will let you guys know soon. I'm like 95% sure but I need to try some Ethos again just to verify. But Ethos's main flavor is almost identical if I'm remembering right.

So, this is literally a first attempt and completely untested. I'm mostly posting this to share my initial thoughts after developing a new hunch about an Ethos Crispies clone recipe I've been working out that I'd like some feedback on. This hunch came to me almost out of the blue when I wasn't even thinking about my clone. It came during a series of trials I was running on various single flavors to learn them as ingredients. I was going through a bunch of flavors in no particular order when I started to sample Flavor West's cake batter mix at around 7%. It stopped me dead in my tracks. It was, in my opinion, nearly identical to the main flavor profile of Ethos Crispy treats. I believe it is the ingredient that has been alluding me. I'm fairly certain Cap's vanilla custard is in the recipe as well. It's what I smell when I take sniff of Ethos. The cake batter would make sense this way too because I've noticed it doesn't have much of a scent and almost none of its flavor comes across in its smell. I feel this way with Ethos Crispies as well. Cake batter dip almost tastes like sugar cookie dough to me. It's a distinct flavor and it is very much what I taste in the Crispies every time I try it now but I can only smell Cap's vanilla custard when smell the bottle. I also included tfa sweetener in my recipe because Ethos clearly has some sort of sweetener in it. Lastly I chose to add some tfa marshmallow because it is, in my option, the gooiest and most authentic of the marshmallows on the market when this recipe was created. I'm guessing that some of the texture of Ethos Crispies is coming from that. Thanks @vapekitten for showing me that. I'm only publishing this because I know a few other people are trying for this clone and I know they might appreciate just reading this. I'll get back with a more developed recipe soon! I hope I'm right about this and my assumption about the cake batter dip isn't just desperately wishful thinking, haha! If it is I apologize for getting those following my rice crispy recipe's hopes up. These percentages are just guesses right now and will surely have to be adjusted. I'm going to try this recipe for the first time tomorrow and I will post my thoughts

Going to make this for a friend, ordering the materials in the next day. Seems to be the most solid Rice Crispies mix. Going to try and add some Shisha Strawberry from Inawera to this as well and see how it goes, i'll report back in a couple weeks!

Hmm. I've always had strong flavor with my batches. It is a little bit on the vanilla end of the flavor spectrum though. Much like a real rice crispy treat a lot of the taste comes from how the individual flavors and textures play off each other. Like how the butter makes the grainy cereal flavor richer and then the marshmallow softens it and adds a sweet fluffiness to fill out the form of the caps. All the flavors by themselves are quite mild really. Because of this the mix is particularly vulnerable to the flavors of a presaturated coil. I actually almost always use this mix to break my coils in because even though it is a very tasty vape, I know I can follow it with any flavored vape I want and it will be on point. If that isn't it, I have to admit I'm a little stumped Bunta.

Just wanted to post a little update. I deleted my comment suggesting the tfa marshmallow sub. The original recipe does seem to have a lot more flavor. The second recipe keeps on tasting muted to me lately. @BuntaKetsu did you use the altered recipe?

mixed this today, i ran out of golden butter so i subbed it with 1% capella's butter cream. i also added 0,5% Joy and 1,25% EM. just after shaking taste is ONNNN POOIINNTTTT very delicious, but definitely need some time to calm down, i will be back with feedback in two weeks for sure! (tested on macro coils, dual 0,3ohm w/cheetah 2 rda, 50-60 watts) :)

After reading these comments I was like heck yeah I am making this right now but all the while wondering how you got it to be as sweet as ethos. I made it exactly to the recipe and it is very good but not even close to being as sweet as ethos. I'm not sure if that's what you was going for or what. I just assumed it was because of all of the comparisons in the notes and comments.
